I too had a problem coming over the Mt hood pass. Serpentine belt went out and car nearly overheated to death. Pulled over 27 miles from Sandy and was lucky enough to have some service to call my roadside assistance. I got a tow to Sandy on a Saturday evening around 10 PM and the shop owner picked up the phone and I explained to him that I really needed my vehicle running again tomorrow on a Sunday at that because the day after I have 300 miles to drive. I was going to load all my household goods and move north permanently and my van took a dump on me 50 miles from home! He told me the following morning hed take a look at it and call me by 11 AM with the diagnosis. I was expecting to have to call and maybe not get an answer until 1 PM or so. You know how it usually can be... Well by 10 am I got a call with a full quote and them saying they can have it running in a few hours. Sure enough this shop delivered and I was my vehicle got me home as if it never had a problem. Thank you so much One Cent Auto Repair! You made my day by taking a stressful situation and turning it around for me by going above and beyond in service and timeliness. He even left a candy bar on the drivers seat for me :) If your in a pinch, trust this shop to give you a no b.s solution and to deliver when they say they can.

Great experience! These guys are lifesavers! I found One Cent Auto Repair just by chance, when my car broke down on Hwy 26 near government camp. I was in a very unfortunate position of being stuck on Mt. Hood on my way to Bend, with a car that suddenly stopped working on a saturday evening. I had to call Triple AAA to be towed somewhere, but every rental agency in Sandy was closed, and being towed all the way back to Portland or Bend would be very $$$. I searched for "Car rental & repair in Sandy" on my iphone, and fortunately One Cent Auto Repair popped up and I called. Marty answered, was patient with me on the phone, worked with me to solve the problem, and stayed open late so I could have my car towed to his location. Marty diagnosed the problem as being a bad transmission, but was very honest and transparent with me about what my options were, and I could tell he was sensitive to my situation. He found me a good used transmission when I requested a less expensive option. He has a very soothing, calming demeanor and a genuine passion for cars, and his shop is a reflection of that. A cool place. Trust me, I am always skeptical of the auto repair industry but Marty & his father are people I would recommend to anyone. They fixed my car, but even more importantly they helped me out of a jam.

We were in a major bind coming back over Mt. Hood with four children, on a Saturday, and had a major overheating problem. The engine would not hold coolant. After speaking with AAA and getting a tow truck on route, we Googled local auto repair shops. The only person to answer the phone was Marty at One Cent Auto. Marty talked to me about the potential problem even with my limited knowledge of cars. Marty informed me of who the likely tow company would be and that we could have the vehicle towed to his shop, where he would look at it that afternoon and give us a call with the diagnosis. After arriving back in Bend, I received the call from Marty, who stated that the parts were available and that the car would be repaired by that evening. In short, Marty eased our minds in a tough situation, did everything he said he would do in a professional and timely manner and for a reasonable cost under the circumstances. His shop is also a must see, lots of nostalgic signs and equipment and one of the most clean auto repair shops that I have ever seen. Marty would be my go to mechanic if I lived closer. Both my cousin and I are new to the area, and have both had a fantastic experience at One Cent. They fixed up his Toyota Camry and my Honda Pilot within a day. Both phone and in-person service was top-notch, repairs were done well and prices were very reasonable. The shop is immaculate, and full of charm. They even sent me away with a candy bar and an ice cold glass bottle of root beer from the vintage soda machine! I would highly recommend this shop to anyone with mechanical or auto body needs. No BS here, just a couple of honest, helpful and knowledgeable guys.

Awesome shop! These guys blow away all the other shops in Sandy by far. They provide more services than the rest and at very fair prices. I have be reeled into other shops with seamingly low prices baited then hooked for stuff I did not need. I am glad I found someone I can finally trust. The paint and bodywork is by far the best. I could go on and on but you must visit them and see for yourself you wont be disappointed.
