I called my local Tigard USPS location and was inquiring about a package I should of received on 1/12/17. Monica was the clerk on the phone with me. I called asking her about the explanation of delay in delivering my package, she informed me that it was marked as unable to gain access to front door. I let her know that this was not correct and that my door has been accessible. She then said that they mark it as that whether it is or not and that they could of just went home early due to weather conditions. I let her know that this is not the first time this has happened to me and I have had previous packages marked as delay to weather when the weather was sunny and clear roads. She told me I could file a claim online if I wanted to, which I did appreciate and I let her know when I go online to read the reviews about this specific location that this seems to be a pattern and many individuals have complained of incorrect reasons for delay as well as lost mail. As I was letting her know of the problem she cut me off and said "Have a nice day", which I responded are you hanging up on me? after I said that there was a pause and then she hung up on me. This is unprofessional and I expect more out of a government facility. I was still trying to figure out if my package would be arriving or if I needed to pick it up at the location. I had to call back since Monica purposely hung up on me, and from there I spoke to Alex who told me that my package is in route and I should be expecting it today and if I didnt, to give them a call. UPDATE: I never received my package again, and I went down to the postal office in person and told them I wasnt going to leave until I received my package. After 30 minutes of waiting a lady came out with my two packages saying that they had misplaced them and that they had never been sent out for delivery. They were at the postal office the whole time, thrown into a pile of undelivered packages. This establishment is poorly ran by incompetent people.

Follow the tale of my package that was mailed "guaranteed by Christmas." Four trips to this PO were useless until I had a coworkers dad who is a former postal worker intervene. When I found out I would be moving, I spoke with the mail courier personally and let him know. He said no problem, just fill out the change of address online and it could be effective immediately. I went online to do so, but it costs $1.05 per person, and they want all my personal and banking info. After my last interaction with the post office where they cut off the label of my package with a knife and sent me the label but NOT the expensive item from the package, No thanks! So I went to the post office to get the change of address form in person. They were closed for "lunch" at three in the afternoon. I didnt have time to wait an hour so I went to a different location the next day to get the form. I filled it out and dropped it in the mail. I went to my old place to check my old mail box just in case and my mail was still being delivered there. So I put a box in the mail box to block access to it, with a note on it letting the mail carrier know my new address and NOT to leave mail there. At my new place, I filled out the pink card noting all family members the day I rented the place, and left it in the mail box for the new carrier. I was surprised that it was still uncollected after a few days, but I figured a few days without mail wouldnt kill me. It has now been two weeks and the card STILL has not been collected and I still have NO mail at either the old or new place. Today I tried calling the post office several times, but the first few times it just said the number is disconnected, then the next few times it said the number is out of service. Then as soon as the clock hit 6pm, it rang and rang for 5 minutes straight, then hung up. I do not know how to get my mail, and most importantly, my paycheck!

Pros: Its open 24/7 to check your box. Its kept clean. It is located in a safe well lit area. I forgot my mail key twice, which they graciously checked and retrieved my mail. I have had a box there for over 3 years, and each staff person Ive encountered was friendly as well as knowledgeable. I had to call three times for things, and each time I was able to complete my call and had my questions answered. Its cheaper than a standard postal annex type of business, plus I wasnt aware of this, but after I closed my services with a postal annex, said business along with the USPS doesnt allow you to submit a change of address. Instead you are required to contact each vendor and update your address. That was a shocker. It also made me realize most people dont know this, as I used to get tons of other peoples mail all the time. Now I know why. Cons: Just one. Since Ive had my box (3yrs) I have received wrong mail to some guy not listed on my box, and Ive handed it to several different clerks letting them know. After a year of receiving wrong mail (still that same person) I spoke to the Post Master, after 3-4 months it seemed fixed. Not so fast, I am now getting that same persons mail again (over 3 years). Ive said repeatedly dont they look to match a name before they stick it in the box? There is a specific list I have for my box. I guess they dont. It make you wonder how much mail gets lost?
