I would recommend Transmission Doctors to anyone. My wife and I were on our way back home from our honeymoon when our car broke down just outside of Troutdale. It was after five and all the shops were closed, but Karla answered the phone. She and Bob waited till the tow truck brought us in. Bob diagnosed my car and they helped us find a hotel and drove us there. They then picked us up the next day. The part for the car was hard to find and Bob did his best, but it had to be ordered and would not be there until the following day. I had to get back for work so Karla drove us to the airport. I then returned on the weekend to get my car and Bob picked me up at the airport and took me back to the shop after hours so I could get my car which was running better than new. Despite all of the extra work he put in and all the driving around, the price never changed from what he said it would be. Finding a shop like this was like finding a needle in a hayst > ack. Bob Edwards is passionate about cars and about being successful. He reminds me of the days when doctors used to make house calls. We live twelve hours away, and Bob and Karla treated us like old friends. That made the situation a lot less stressful. I would take my car back to him in a heartbeat and would recommend Transmission Doctors to anyone. They are a breath of fresh air in our money before people society. They do things the right way. I couldnt have had a better experience. Thank you so much Bob and Karla for everything!

My 2006 Ford F350 was acting up for close to a month. The engine would just keep revving up and not shift into third gear under power. A couple weekend mechanic friends said it was "time to rebuild the tranny". After residing myself to the expected probable repair - I contacted Transmission Doctors and took my truck in yesterday for inspection. After a test drive and full diagnostic computer scan by Bob (owner and top mechanic) it was determined that my transmission was more than likely A-OK. He felt that the root of the problem was probably a fuel issue. He suggested I change my fuel filters (he had the capability to do so - but so did I). Today - with the filters changed (the old ones were awful! - I had gotten some bad diesel!) my truck was running fantastic. It was shifting properly and running great. Bobs disgnosis was right on. Thanks to Bob for his help and accurate diagnostics. It was greatly appreciated. I wonder if other shops would have diagnosed the problem and then "fixed" my transmission for me? I would highly recommend this shop. Thanks again to Transmission Doctors!

After a week long vacation my boyfriend and I were just starting our road trip back to Colorado, already a little strapped for cash, when we heard the most awful sound of grinding metal under our car. We were extremely worried but thank goodness we found Bob and his amazing team! They had our car put back together in two days and that wasnt easy. He had to order numerous parts, one of which didnt show up so Bob had to personally make a trip to Portland to get it for us. He did the work quickly and for a VERY reasonable price. He also dropped us off at the hotel and picked us back up when our car was ready. It was refreshing how he runs his business. Unlike most auto shops if he can repair the part thats damaged he will; instead of just ordering a new one, forcing you to pay the cost for a brand new part. They do quality work and truly care about their clients. All over we were very lucky to have found The Transmission doctors and auto repair shop. The only thing Im sad about is that we cant bring our car to him from now on since we live so far away. Thanks again Bob and crew!!!

The Transmission Doctors are top notch when it comes to 4 categories: customer service, quality of work, speed of service, and price. I called them in search of a shop to replace my clutch. They were the only place that was able to get me in that day (but they were busy with other customers). They offered me the lowest price among anyone, and they were the nicest people to work with. Bob, the owner, knows his stuff. Hes a great guy to do business with, and I highly recommend their service!

I took my jeep in for a new water pump and the quality of work they did to get me back one the road was quick and fast. I would recommend this shop to anyone! So if your car is feeling sick I recommend the transmisson doctors!

This place closed just after we had our transmission rebuilt. Since theyre gone, our warranty is basically worthless and we just found out all the gaskets are leaking badly. Were really hoping nothing else is wrong with it.
