We wanted the Master Bath and the Guest Bath completely changed. I had a plan which moved the Toilet from one side of the room to the other, removed the Jacuzzi tub and doubled the size of the shower. We met with Chuck Mattioni and Patty and explained our plan. Chuck recommended some additions and came out to the house to see the baths and took measurements. We met with Chuck and Patty and he had 3D renderings which brought the plan to life. Chuck recommended some features we hadn’t considered like a heated floor & recirculation pump. Patty presented tile, vanity furniture, mirrors, fixtures, colors, etc. and we had a plan, more money than I expected but within my budget. We trimmed back some options and we were ready to go. Chuck and Patty put together a complete written plan for both bathrooms including descriptions of every option (toilets, fixtures, furniture, mirrors, lights, fans, including model numbers). The plan laid out a daily schedule which was referred to by the workers as the “Bible”. We got a copy of the “Bible” and each worker arrived with their copy as well. The work was to start on day 1 with complete demolition of the master Bath. They covered the hard wood floors with sturdy plastic, they covered vulnerable surfaces with card board, and they encapsulated our bedroom in plastic to capture demolition dust. The dumpster arrived on that morning and the demolition started. Each day the technicians arrived to do their part, plumbers set the rough plumbing electricians did the rough wiring. All the hardware arrived and was stored in our garage for the master Bath. Each day the work was completed per the plan even if they stayed extra hours. John the master plumber, Bob the carpenter, Derrik the handyman apprentice, Anthony the second plumber, Andrew the tile expert also installed the heated floor and explained every detail of the installation. Saki the electrical contractor worked silently in the background completing his work as needed. Sometimes there were as many as 5 guys working in the bathroom. Who know how many in the office were working in the background to make sure everything arrived on time and in first class condition. Some pieces were determined to be slightly out of spec and plans were made to replace the item. Telephone communication was continuous and Chuck arrived on the scene to insure the work was progressing as planned and at top quality. The First Bath was completed on time and the second one started on the following Monday with a detailed plan. The glass installer came to make final measurements to make sure they would fit accurately. The glass was scheduled in the “Bible” to arrive several weeks later. They arrived on schedule and the job was completed on-time and per plan. There were NO extra costs, except for some minor changes we requested. Township inspectors and electrical inspectors explained if Mattioni is doing the work it will be right. The Bath is complete we love the heated floor and the recirculation pump insures we have hot water instantly. Chuck said they would complete the punch list as soon as possible. We had a hard time trying to identify anything to put on the Punch List. Chuck Mattioni and Patty will be coming out for a final inspection and will take pictures for the next customer to see the quality of their work. No matter what you hear of contractors not doing what they say or running up unexpected expenses this DID NOT happen with Mattioni Plumbing. Everybody on the team was professional, friendly and very careful to make sure that everything was as they found it. We would recommend Mattioni Plumbing to anyone wanting a quality job, on-time and within budget. Thanks again, Jean & Jim

I have used Mattioni in the past for a significant repair which cost several thousand dollars just a few months ago and was delighted with their work. So much so that when I had a problem with my HVAC they were the first people I thought of, my mistake! Before I continue, let me preface this by saying, everyone has a story and I am no different. Upon entering my vacant home last night (vacant because closing is next week) I had no heat and you could tell that the pipes were starting to freeze. I contacted Mattioni first thing this morning and explained my situation and even offered to accept an increased service call charge to ensure that they would schedule it for the same day I called. I was right up front with them that this was an emergency because of the various inspections that were going to be done in the following day(s) and was seeking an HVAC company that would assure me that they could repair the system today. Here is what I was told, - We have enough business that we dont have to dance around if your calling other contractors! I took that to mean, if your calling other companies, dont bother us. I then started to receive a lecture that since my home was vacant they would only deal with homes that were occupied and didnt have heat. Yeah lady, I want you to let all the kids freeze so you can fix my heat, NOT! That was not what I was asking for, I was asking for assurance that you had a technician that would have time TODAY to look at the system but you were too busy being high and mighty! I hope when you sell your home and are a few days before closing something happens and you need service on something immediately! Bet the high and mighty speech goes out the window then. As I said, I had just paid this company several thousand dollars a few months ago, I was an established customer, I have referred people and now Im being told that they have enough customers and vacant houses arent important and who gives a rats behind that your a "loyal" customer. (This is easy to understand, if you dont fix the heat the pipes burst) now they can charge you through both divisions (Plumbing & Heating) get twice the revenue, great business model. In short, my experience is that they have done good work in the past for me. If you need to rely on them in a dark hour, DONT. If you are going to call other companies to keep them honest, LIE or avoid telling them. If you have a vacant house DONT tell them its vacant because you are now a third class citizen. Finally, if you think that by using Mattoni in the past it will get you any "loyalty bonus" think again!

For us, Mattioni has been our only HVAC and Plumbing people we use and theyve been ok. The people are polite by putting shoe covers on and greeting you. Some of the technicians are not very pleasant, but most are. They do good work for the most part, but theyve stumbled a a couple times and I had to make multiple call-outs to fix the same problem. We are renting properties, so we dont need to spend a premium on everything, wed like to pick and choose. Unfortunately, thats not the way it goes with these guys. The pricing is flat fee pricing with no break-down of labor or material cost. That means each task is basically picked it of a book for pricing no matter how much time and whos working on it, it costs the same. Which sometimes is a good thing. In other cases having no options for using other materials such as cheaper valves or cheaper piping that could be adequate by code is bad. So beware that its all premium work and pricing. They use premium parts for all jobs, which is good if you need a fix to last 10yrs, but not so good if you need something for a few years before a remodel job. So that part of the experience is a bit deceiving since smaller plumbing companies try to work with you to get you something that works for both parties. They do show you how much youll be spending, but only when you pay the door price of $60 first and with little option for seeing parts pricing in the job estimate prior to work. We were not informed that they only provided certain premium parts and materials for jobs. They let you know if they find out more problems, but add on the charges. The billing department doesnt send a compete invoice just a total usually for the work the client agrees to, so you if need to keep jobs on record for any purpose you may get questions on the billing. Some other companies only charge you for the job and if they find out more issues, they wont charge extra. Just call ahaead and ask how they price and what options are available to you before the job. Dont waste money on small plumbing jobs unless you cant get it for yourself . Maintain your drains and faucets on your own and go to Lowes or Home Depot for parts and DIY tips! I recommend getting the heathy home inspection plan because it can save you some money on jobs (about 16% now) and it covers the cost of the two annual HVAC inspections and the annual inspection of the plumbing. If its a major water heater job, HVAC job, then use them or the other big companies because they guarantee their work and will fix it no matter how many housecalls and technicians they need to do it!
