I called Roto Rooter for a blocked toilet. I had tried a plunger and closet snake but to no avail. Amanda answered the phone and I explained the problem and what I had tried. Amanda listened and asked questions along the way. Amanda had a very pleasant and understandable speaking voice and I could "hear her smile" on the phone. She took down my information and said it would be couple of hours until someone could get here. Within a few minutes, Amanda called back and said the representative was on his way and would be here shortly, as he was already in the area. Ray arrived and we spoke of the problem and what I had already tried. He explained what he thought the problem might be and what he would need to do to fix it. Ray was very professional and friendly. He clearly explained the costs involved with the couple of steps that may need to be done. I agreed and he began to auger the toilet. Within minutes, the toilet drained. Ray then made sure that the drain was clear flushing it several times. We then talked and he explained that, due to the age of the toilet, it would be good to replace it, and he recommended the type I should get to best work with the type and length of sewer pipe in the home. Both Amanda and Ray were the type of professional and caring people that one would hope and expect to help resolve a problem. I would recommend RR to others and will use them again should the need arise. Thank you to both of you.

Awesome, Tech who came to my home was full of knowledge, very professional. I closed on my home a few days ago and decided to spend this past weekend to get everything in order. Woke up on Saturday morning and had no hot water. I called a few plumbers that morning and when I finally go one on the phone I explained my issue and was told that they wouldnt be able to come until Monday. When speaking to a few local plumbers I felt as if they were doing me a favor. They I did a search and came across Roto-Rooter. I called and explained the situation and the lady on the phone who I must say was very nice said sure I can send a Tech to your home within 3-4 hours. While on the phone I asked if they can also install 2 new faucets I purchased. Once again she said sure we can do that for you. Within 3 hours the tech showed up at my door and started to work. He went into the basement and noticed the reset button needed to be reset and that he wouldnt charge for that service. He them installed the faucets and was all done. I am very happy that I called Roto-Rooter and truly amazed at the level of service I received from them. One thing for sure is I will also call them back if I have any issues in the future. If you are in the PA area request Ray Williamson and you will have the same awesome experience as I had.

After getting ignored , not called back . No shows from some of the "highly recommended" Homeadvisor candidates. I finally came to my senses and contacted some REAL pros . Roto-Rooters dispatcher responded , ready to dispatch . Deterred only by the massive snowfall in mid March . But the next day after snow cleanup Jimmy and Emil arrived early A.M. prepared to "get er done" . Thank goodness I called them . The drain system in my 117 year old home was nightmarish . Most main conduits were so severely clogged , caked and aged they could not be cleared . RRs techs trucks were fully equipped with all the materials and tooling needed to complete a massive job of repiping my ancient homes drainage system , replacing a toilet , and installing a supply line for a refrigerator ice maker , all in a single visit ! . The amount and quality of work these gentlemen accomplished , while maintaining cleanliness and neatness was absolutely startling . And they managed to save me a ton of money on the bill working , and by not having to worry about shoddy work requiring additional repairs in the future . I will never hesitate to call Roto-Rooter in the future for any of my plumbing needs . Definitely a 5 star performance . clif steward ,,Scranton Pa

Customer beware! I used the Roto-Rooter Plumbers (Scranton/Olyphant PA) provider recently to install a new boiler. This provider ripped me off. They engaged in fraudulent practices and will OVERCHARGE you for sure! They were dishonest, unethical, and untrustworthy in their pricing. When they showed up at my house, the technician gave me an estimate for $1,800. When I expressed my skepticism at this price he went to his van and came back with a new quote for only $810. This should have been an indicator of their DISHONESTY. However, I agreed to the services. In the end, they charged me $926 total (which consisted of $360 labor and $586 for the actual boiler). Afterwards, I found out that the ACTUAL boiler only costs $386 at my local Home Depot. ROTO-ROOTERS absolutely took advantage of me. When I asked for them to produce a receipt for how much they paid for the boiler, they flat out refused. Their management lied to me and said they charged me $200 more for the boiler because of the cost of delivery (keep in mind the Home Depot is only 10 minutes away from my house!) I dont know of any other business that scams honest people in this way. Shame on you, ROTO-ROOTERS.

I finally had my septic tank drained after ignoring it for too long! Larry, my Roto-Rooter technician did a fantastic job. After removing the cover, we were both surprised to find the tank filled almost to the top. Larry quickly got to work draining the contents informing me that my "tank" wall was made from cinder blocks and many rocks had worked their way into the sludge. Without a single complaint, Larry continued the process of draining it which was slowed by rocks getting stuck in the hose. Sometimes he was able to simply pull the rocks out, other times he had to go to the truck to reverse the air flow, and a few times he had to completely disconnect the hose. He persisted and even hooked up a second hose once the original hose got so clogged that it didnt work. I was impressed with Larrys perseverance and desire to do a good job. When finished, he took the time to explain other choices for the next time I need my "tank" drained rather than taking the check and moving on to the next job!

Sometimes timing is everything… for both good and bad. I contacted the Scranton Rotor Rooter on Monday Morning, after discovering a cracked sewer drain pipe, the night before. Amanda answered the phone, and I proceeded to explain to her my tale of woe. She assured me that she would have a technician out the same day to check the problem, and proceeded to take my information. A few hours later, Amanda called back to inform me that the technician, was finishing up a job several miles away, and he next stop was my house. Ray arrived well within the allotted time frame that I was told, and proceeded to assess the situation. After a short time, Ray came up with a ‘game plan’ and proceeded to explain what he planned to do. He left to go and pick up parts, and supplies needed to complete the job. Everything went as planned, and repairs were made within a few hours. Ray is very professional, and knows how to get the job done. I will recommend Ray and Rotor Rooter to anyone that needs their services.
