Every so often, I hear grumbling about H. Jack Langers "reputation" for being expensive. Their services may or may not be the cheapest in town, but they certainly provide the greatest VALUE. Heres what I mean: We have had Jack Langer Plumbing and Heating out in all weather and at all times of the day and night to fix all kinds of things--but never the same thing twice because they always get the job done, period. I have never felt uneasy about having any of Langers crews in the house, and I have never had to explain basic plumbing to any of them. (I moved to Erie from places where these things would be cause for wonderment.) Even when I called on a holiday Sunday, with the basement flooding because a water heater had given up in spectacular fashion, I got good service, reasonable pricing--and a dry basement. Langers guys have good suggestions--they have recommended new technology that solves some of our old problems, though they also have been forthcoming about when it makes more sense to nurse some of the equipment along for a while. Bottom line: We call H. Jack Langer for top-notch service, reliable expertise and fair prices. Langer has never failed to deliver.

Know you plumber rule 1. Langer plumbing will rip you off. His motto is to get into every house once and shut down shop. Did you know they have a huge markup on all materials they provide that you could go nand get for hundreds less??? Yes they markup material they get thru discounted store by 30%!!! That means if you get. That means if you buy an ac service, and they get the unit for 2100, you will pay 2800 for it plus! They then charge you 109 to 119 an hr at normal "flat rates" to have it installed, you then have to pay for it to be charged and everything down to a screw they will charge you for. He has now stopped all warrantees on new installations because its a hassle. We live in the information age and technology is key. Lookup ur model numbers on your water heaters and ac units and see the price, then figure out how many hrs they were there at your house and times by 109. You then will see how much you lve been had for. If i could give you the best advice it would be to go else where, jack langer could never be trusted and you would be foolish to try.

Our 2yr old son put a dozen or so small rocks and two sticks into our cleanout drain and water began backing up from our basement floor drain. HJacks promptly came out the same day we called and nearly matched the over the phone quote from another company and told her this job was no problem at all. Well my wife wanted it fixed so she could get back to normal water use so I agreed over phone from work to proceed. Unfortunately three weeks later water was backed up again? After looking down the cleanout they tell me there are still rocks and a stick down there and they would have to bring a pumper truck and charge $500-600? Why was the stick still in there? I removed it myself within an hour after they left - what a joke! Should have went with the other company; they assured me it would be fixed and sticks removed for a little less money than what HJacks charged. SMH

We just bought a house and the AC did not work. We called them and technician came out. He told us the unit was "empty of freon" and had to be replaced at a cost of over $4500. He said the furnace might also need to be replaced. We called another company to get a second opinion. Tech came out and quickly realized a safety switch had been tripped due to a faulty heat exchanger. The switch was reset and I am currently sitting in a cool comfortable house. The cost of that service was $106. As for the heat exchanger, it is under warranty and I have to pay the labor to install. It is clear they were trying to sell unecessary repairs.

Ive been a customer of Jacks for 30 years. It started pre-internet days when our water heater burst on a Sunday morning. Who you gonna call? Jacks people came right away and installed a new heater. He charged an extra $50 for the weekend service. The next day we drove to Sears to check out prices. Jack was spot on -- no cheating, no inflating the price. Ive trusted him with furnaces, toilets, air conditions and sump pumps ever since. His crews are professional, competent and personable. Cant ask for better than that.

My property manager called them after failing a new requirement on a boiler inspection at a small apartment complex. They installed the back flow valve and other parts so fast the inspector initially refused to come back out because he thought there was no way that anyone could get it done within 24 hours due to the complexity and part availability. These guys set the standard for other companies.

Weve used H Jack for years. They are knowledgeable, fair and meticulous. Most important though is that they know how to treat their customers. I had to call them at the last minute for a job in my 94 year-old mothers home. They were prompt, extremely courteous and left her 50-year-old pink ceramic tile in perfect condition. We wont use anyone else for plumbing or heating.

I had a problem with my furnace. I called H Jack Langer and they came out immediately, found and fixed the problem that my original heat service company was not able to fix. It would work for a couple of days before it went bad again. His rate was reasonable. As far as I am concerned, if I have any future problems, he will be the on I call.

Being a business owner, I appreciated the high level of customer service and guidance they provided. They not only helped me choose the most cost effective unit but, they installed it within hours.
