I agree with everyone else, I just experience the worst customer service in the past 12 months. This location is awful, AVOID AT ALL COSTS. First, the "drop-off" location is bogus, the main pull-through was apparently broken and as forced to use the loading dock which did not provide nearly enough room to unload the 6x12 trailer I just drove down with for the last 6 hours. The tongue of the trailer was blocking half the road and I had to illegally park my truck during the unloading process. Second, I was yelled at twice by apparent UHAUL storage customers that clearly had a mental disorder...my girlfriend (who was helping me unload) was legitimately concerned for her safety. Third, they would not let me drop off the trailer because "they were full" and never told me where I could actually drop off the trailer, NOTE:.....they close at 5pm and will kick you out without any concern for your situation. Forth, the elevator was clearly broken as one of the buttons did not work and it did not bring you to the selected floor. Fifth, my reserved (10x15x6) storage room, was an elevated locker (5 feet off the ground) with 6 access garage doors. The 4 big doors (approx 6x6) were locked and I was told I had to wait until Monday because the customer service staff did not have the keys), leaving me to shove my full mattress into the 4x5 door, and NOTE: you have to purchase a $12.00 UHAUL lock....nice advertising. The facility closed at 5pm, at 5pm a warning alarm went off saying the facility was now closed and the lights turned off. I had to leave my girlfriend with my couch half-way sticking out of the locker door to figure out what the hell was going on. I noticed the loading dock garage door was closed, all exterior doors were locked, and the customer service guy was mopping the floor behind locked glass doors. I tapped on the glass to get his attention and he ignored me for 10 minutes while he finished mopping the floor and then told me I had to wait in order to get back up stairs. I could not believe what I was seeing. He finally put down this mop and let me through the locked stairwell doors to finish stuffing my couch through the small locker door. Sixth, after finishing loading the locker, I went back downstairs to figure out where I could drop-off the trailer and the continued to ignore me behind locked glass doors. I spent the next hour and half driving around Phily with a trailer and on the phone with UHAUL customer service to find out where I could drop the trailer off. After going to the Allengany St locatio (which was locked), I made it back down to the Washington Ave location and finally dropped off the locaiton. AVOID THE 13th/Wood STREET UHAUL LOCATION....ONLY DO BUSINESS WITH THE WASHINGTON AVE LOCATION

DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION! I sincerely hope that I can help others avoid my mistake. Note: I can only speak to the storage/moving in and out aspect of the company, but truck rental reviews dont look great either. 1. Location: Despite its proximity to downtown, this location is not ideal. It is in a sketchy neighborhood and space is tight (see loading dock issues below). I recommend using a location farther out and traveling a little farther to get into the city. 2. Units: The storage units just have a caged top, no actual ceiling. If someone wanted to steal your stuff they could easily cut the caged top and grab whatever they want. 3. "Climate Controlled:" I paid extra money for a climate controlled unit. When I moved out it was 95 degrees in the facility. I confronted the owner about this issue, and he told me that it is street climate. I have no idea what that means, but it sounds a lot like outside in the elements to me. Complete waste of money. I had movers who said that facility was the worst experience theyve had in 10 years. They were going back to recommend not moving to or from this facility again. 4. Loading dock: The loading dock is just a narrow alley that can barely fit moving trucks. When I moved in, I had to wait for two other trucks to move before I could back into the tiny designated space. When moving out, the truck couldnt maneuver in the alley at all, so the driver had to park on the opposite curb and move all my stuff farther. Even when you can back your truck to the dock, it is far too high and still incredibly inconvenient to use. 5. Elevator: There is only one elevator for the entire facility, so you spend most of your time (and money if you hire movers) waiting on the elevators. You load up your dolly, wait for 10 minutes then wait again. It took 3 hours to move out furniture for a 1 bedroom apartment. 6. Staff: Lastly, the owner of this store is incredibly rude and defensive. He obviously gets a lot of complaints, because as soon as I brought an issue to his attention, he responded sharply and derogatorily.

Horrible!!!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. I reserved a 15 foot truck multiple days in advance for my mother and paid for the moving service as well. WHEN she arrived she was given a cargo van, despite the truck that was ordered. She took the van unaware that I had purchased a different size truck. Needless to say the items being moved did not all fit on the van, exactly the reason why I paid for the truck. The movers I paid already had loaded the majority of the items on the van and completed their jobs. Long story short, my older mother ended up having to drive back to this location, swap out the things in the cargo van to a 15 truck, drive BACK to the storage facility and load my heavy bed on to the truck, she would have had to do it ALONE if not for the help of someone else because the movers I paid had already done their job, initially moving stuff to the cargo van that was too small. Somehow U Haul does not see how this has been an inconvenience and has not done anything to compensate for its negligence. No big deal.

They will rip you off! If you do use them, cover your butt and take pics of the gas gauge BEFORE getting the truck and AFTER you bring it back!! Take pics of the milage too, and anything else you can think of. The gauge, at least on the 15 truck, is not detailed enough to truly estimate how much gas youve actually put in, and even when you think youve put enough gas in to bring it back to where it was, they will mark it down as being less and charge you, and if you dont have physical proof that its wrong, then youre S.O.L! I was only charged $6.38, but thats after I already spent over $7 on gas when it was about $1.30 something/gallon. They would only give me a $10 house credit for this issue instead of putting money back to my credit card, but I wont need that since Im never going to use them again... Bad business and a lost customer over something small. Straight up greedy.

The employees at this uhaul are anything but helpful. As the other reviews have stated, they are rude, completely unprofessional, and show absolutely no respect for anyone elses time but their own. Each time I have been to deal with my two storage units, they act as if I am interfering with their personal time. During one instance when I rented an additional storage unit, it took an hour to rent the unit, and get access to the elevator. Once I reached the unit, I realized they had no taken the lock off so I had to go back down and inform the employees. When I informed him, he told me he was aware, and would be up when he got around to it. There were no other customers in the store. It took me over two hours at this place to get access to a storage unit. DO NOT GO HERE.
