Worst car experience ever. Failure from every Department. I have bought and sold and helped many friends and family buy cars and this was by far the most deceptive, crooked and incompetent dealership I have ever dealt with. Was deceived by a Ford Pre-owned Certified ad for a 2011 Truck Ad. Contacted dealership through link. Made appointment for next day. confirmed that morning. Arrived to find truck had dead battery, flat tires (7 lbs PSI) leaves in back bed. Sales person jumped car but said service department was unable to fill tires? so had to drive car to local WaWa AND FILL TIRES MYSELF. Test drive without tag. Paint had many small scratches, drill holes interior, bumper cracked and held together with visible exterior screw, under carriage heavily rusted ( looked almost flood damaged), clear coat on chrome trim pealing and paint pealing under sides. +++ issues. Was presented an original window sticker in French! Found out later inflated gas mileage ( Canada uses Imperial Gallons?) When researched later English Verizon It says not intended for sale or registration in US. Made an offer but never received counter offer only attitude from sales person about how high payments can I afford. Finance officer tried to sell me extended warranty but never gave me figures on final sale price including what ever add on ( Dealer prep, location fess, what ever else they make up.) went to show sales manager car and it was gone! He then told me this vehicle is to old for ford Certification and does not qualify and 7 year 100,000 is from original date of manufacture (9/2010). This is just highlights of my visit. I am business owner from New Jersey ( not cars) with great credit, or could pay full cash, ready to buy. I meet fellow owners and their workers from their area regularly at meetings and Seminars, Work with a large group of Amish and Mennonites that live in Lancaster county, my Niece and her family and friends all live in and around Media. Actively in the market for 2 Cars. Do they know their target ares? Every other time i have visited a Dealership whether I bought a car or not i have received follow up courtesy call, sometimes from manager, asking about my visit. Dead silence. Do your homework, remember sales people are likable by nature but not necessarily have your best interest. and be ready to get outside financing.

My issue is that I went to buy a car from this dealership. I picked out a 2008 Pontiac G5 and finally got financed through Santander (one of the dealerships go to banks to finance people with little to no credit). The vehicle was not in a condition to get me back home (Elkton, MD.) so I had asked the dealership if they could do anything about the tires on the vehicle. The sales manager I spoke to was very rude and tried to make me feel bad about asking about new tires. I was disgusted, but I was polite, thanked him for his time and left. I never signed paperwork that bound me to this vehicle. I have a buyers order that states if I decided not to take the vehicle, I will not have to pay anything. It is 10/09/2015 and I have been calling the dealership and finance company for weeks. The contract still has not been cancelled and the dealership finally sent back money for the vehicle on 10/06/2015 but it was not enough to cover what the loan was for. I am extremely upset as I was lied to about the money being sent back various times and my credit has tanked 60 points because of this open account that the dealership has yet to send back all the money for. I am beyond disgusted and upset with everything that has gone on. My sales guy, finance manager and sales manager were all very rude and have not been helpful. I dont appreciate them trying to take advantage of me since I am only 20 and they knew I was not getting my parents involved in the deal. All they saw from me was that I was an easy commission. They didnt care if I made it home in the vehicle, or if I was getting treated fairly. I would like this to be taken off of my credit report and the account closed effective 10/02/2015 when the deal was called off. I do not want to keep playing games and going back and forth. Im trying to build my credit and get a loan for another vehicle that I have found, but that is impossible with an open account for $8k on my credit report that I have refused to pay because I do not have the vehicle.

I have never had a bad experience with Fred Bean. My contact Herb (and Kim who schedules my appointments) are ALWAYS helpful, courteous and just plain NICE. The service is always complete, fairly priced and they don’t keep me waiting any longer than needed. Just to put things into perspective. I go to Fred Beans with both my cars (a Lincoln and a Ford). They are 19 miles one way. There is a Ford dealer less than 3 miles from me and another that I have to pass on the way to Fred Beans about 9 miles. I choose to go the greater distance. During the past year I had an incident where my Ford was disabled (mice chewed through some wiring). Ford warranty informed me I had to have my car towed to the nearest dealer. They fixed it, after 2 days. They were not rude, etc. but they could have gotten a new customer by showing some of the “Fred Beans” type of service. When I spoke to Herb about my situation that Ford would only tow it to the closest dealer he went and spoke to his manager. I received a phone call within an hour from Herb. His manager said he would be willing to send a tow truck to bring my car to Beans. How is that for making a customer feel special? I politely declined as I did not want to insult the local dealer. Two weeks later the mice were back and chewed my wiring yet again. This time I told Ford warranty that I would PAY to have it towed to Fred Beans – PERIOD! We moved to Pennsylvania about 7 years ago. For 7 years I passed the Ford dealer 3 miles from our house (yes the same dealer that Ford towed the car to – 3 miles from the house) and wondered why in the world am I going so far to have my cars serviced? After my experience with the ‘mice’ I am happy to say that I pass the local dealer and NEVER asked myself that question again! Job well done Fred Beans! PS If I could give you 6 stars I would! I am prefacing this review with the fact that I have visited 12 dealerships in the past month and I have never left one more frustrated and disappointed. After a couple of days and many attempts to get in touch with two different sales reps via email, I was finally able to get in touch with a different sales rep over the phone. I alerted the sales rep that I would be coming in at noon and she said that was good for her. Upon arriving, she was working with another customer, but gave me the keys to the car to take a look at. She then asked us to have a seat in the waiting area while she continued to work with another customer. During that time, she assured me that this would not take long because "this gentleman owes $21,000 on his vehicle and his car is worth half of that and hes not going to be able to get out of it". I found this to be incredibly unprofessional and made me lose her trust immediately. She continued to work with both of us simultaneously. I was clearly not a prioritized customer. After almost 90 minutes of waiting, I was presented with an offer that was not even comparable to what I receiving at other dealers and a trade-in value that was insulting compared to the offers I had received recently. As a result of the poor customer service and lack of professionalism, I would not recommend this dealer to anyone.
