When I initially called regarding my transmission, I was told there was NO CHARGE/ NO OBLIGATION to have any work done. I just wanted to get a diagnosis on my transmission. When I got there, it was a whole different story. I was charged $475 This was Tuesday. I was forced to find a way to and from work for 5 days. They also did not tell me it was going to take this long for my car! THE STORY GETS WORSE. I was told my car would be done by Friday and I could pick it up at 9pm. They said theyd leave the key for me to pick up. When I got there at 9pm in the dark and freezing rain, not only was my key no where to be found, my transmission and other car parts were in the trunk of my car!!! They lied, my car was never done and I was pretty much stranded. I I had to work the next morning as well as pick up my daughter and had no other way to do so without my car. The next morning, my mom had to come allllll the way from the Pocono Mountains to help me keep my composure. As you can imagine, I was furious. We wasted sooo much gas trying to make both of our schedules work until my car was done. And I never made it to work that day because of this. Rocky the manager is an absolute, slick, con artist and should be exposed. Absolute horrible business practices and I want a refund

A big thank you Cottmans Emmaus Pa!!!! I needed some major transmission work done on my truck and a friend recomended Cottmans. After I dropped it off I went home and read the reviews on this place on the computer. I freaked out immediatly, I called them to get my truck out of there. With no conflict after they already looked at it they said with no pressure at all if you want to come and get your truck its here. I decided to do more research and to my surprise NO TRANSMISSION places have good reviews. See so I guess this is not a happy :) topic! So decided to let them do the work and I am so glad I did.They took the time to explain and even show me in there shop my transmission that was in 600 hundred pieces to see how much work was involved. I was amazed the whole rebuild of my transmission was done in a timely fashion. To any one that goes on reviews do your homework like I did ! I give this place a A plus Thanks Again and I will highly recommend you to anyone!!!!*******

My Ford Ranger trucks clutch went out after a long life. After deciding we couldnt fix it ourselves, we found Cottman Transmission! They towed the truck to their shop for free and looked at it, telling us there was no obligation to have them fix it. After finding out the damage (wanted to replace the clutch and everything to do with it) , I was terrified it was going to take until the next week to get back on the road (went in the shop late Tuesday evening). But he called me at 10AM Friday morning to tell me the truck was complete. Not only was this experience quick, Bob was extremely friendly and willing to please his customers. He took time to explain everything to us. I will definitely be visiting this shop again! Thank you Cottmans! -- Kendra & Joey

Worst mechanics shop I or anyone I know have dealt with. They overcharged for my transmission rebuild. It started slipping a week later and now my truck makes some strange grinding type noise when I stop. When I took it back to have them do warranty work to fix the slipping, they made excuses for why my transmission was slipping and basically said its not their problem. My solenoids for my trans then went bad and I took it back only because of the warranty and they have had it for a week. Whenever I call for an update they give me attitude and tell me they are working on it. Im told that this should be a 2 hour job tops. I would not ever recomend this garage to anyone. Take it to a place that cares.

Terrible service. When I first brought it in they stated they could repair it easily. Then they decided they did not want to be bothered to repair it and want to put a new transmission in. Did not order correct parts, did not call back when they said they would, and had poor communication. Took car into center on Tuesday and did not receive it for over a week later. Liars, cheats, and scammers. Dont deal with them, especially a guy that goes by Shawn. Will never do business with them again.

it took the 7 months to replace 2 axles and a gas can and they expected full payment when they said 1 month for completion which my mom paid in full cause it was her car than 22 days later the drive shaft fell off as we were driving it to the shop and almost flew into my windshield and the manager was so rude about made my mom cry and my dad used to work there before he passed what a way to treat a widow horrible people even the tow truck who towed said the damaged his car

My GMC Sierra trans went after 240k miles. Brought it to Cottman. The service was very friendly and fast. They understood I needed the truck for work and worked extra hard to get me back on the road fast. 20k miles later truck is still running strong. Can not comment on the price because I did not price around. However they made a bad situation (a bad transmission) bearable with their hospitality and good service. Thanks Cottman and Thank You Kelly!

PLEASE STAY AWAY Total rip off, liars and cheats They took 7 weeks to fix my trans and they claimed they installed a new trans for my audi but actually found out today it was a used one and its broke already. Every time I call they say car will be ready in 2 days. I had the worst experience. They have no dignity, no respect and dont know how to treat customer. Thank you for spoiling my dream of getting back on road with my audi PLEASE STAY AWAY

Im so grateful for excellent & professional service that Cottman gave me when I decided to get work done on my transmission., thanks to Shawn & Kelly. I live in Pottstown they made their business to get me home & back thanks to their courtesy transportation. Very happy with work that was done on my car, also you get 10 day check up on the work they completed if your not satisfied or any additional questions. Thank you!!

Most reviews are recent experience, but 2 years now with rebuilt transmission and no issues since. Felt the customer service we got then was above par. Price, cheaper than Ford and about the same everywhere else. Plus, they took are of a few other issues I was not aware of with minimal or no cost. I would go back. Transmissions are complex today and yes are expensive. Scheduling my 2 year annual check shortly...

Rip off... they were supposed to rebuild a transmission on my truck. When I stopped by to check how things were going they were working on the 4 wheel drive transfer case??Vehicle had the same transmission issue as when I brought it there as when it was "done". I had another transmission shop verify the transmission wasnt worked on. Had I not moved out of state recently after I would have pursued this issue.
