They do NOT do a free diagnostic. They will say that they cant get a full idea of what is wrong with your vehicle unless they pull out the transmission which will run you about $450 just for that. Then they will say we need to do A, B and C and charge a ridiculous amount (almost twice as much as other shops). Horrible customer service. Not to mention once I got my car back, it began to make noise that it never had from the beginning. They suck.... Also as of 7/6/2010 they are NO LONGER BBB Accredited (Quote Directly From BBB) BBB Accreditation was revoked because business failed to comply with agreed BBB standards This complaint will be reflected on the companys BBB Reliability Report with the following language: "The company failed to respond either to the consumer or the Bureau to the complaint(s) filed." Meaning once a complaint was filed, they did NOTHING to resolve the issue. They did NOT communicate with the BBB or the customer.

These guys are rude and they fixed my transmission so they said, but here is the problem. My husband also had his transmission done, 2 years ago by a local shop nothing fancy and he has not had one problem and his was used. I paid for a rebuilt only to find out they dont do new, so why tell me that on my receipt it says rebuild. guess what the 12 month warranty is up, I never drove my truck until recently other then to a store which was a 2 minute drive around the corner. And low and behold my transmission is gone, now how does that happen. And they want me to bring it back to them, just to be charged another 3000 dollars just to screw it up a 2nd time. I dont think so I wouldnt recommend them to my worst enemy. Now I have to go to the small shop my husband went to to have it done right. thanks I hope karma hits this place hard not happy.

I have been bringing my car to Cottman for my annual transmission fluid change for the past few years with superior service given me by Mark and Greg. I recently had my oil changed not long ago. They really do a great inspection on your vehicle and will inform you if there is a problem or not. Also after changing my transmission fluid Mark has been taking my car out for a test run and I appreciate that. One other thing, they are quite prompt in servicing your car so youre not having to wait so long comparing to having it done at a dealership. Highly recommend!

We had a driver making a delivery to the area, and the van broke down on Hwy 95, leaving him stranded there, about 2 hours away from home. We were able to locate Cottman Transmission & Total Auto Care, called them and they arranged for a tow truck to pick up the vehicle & driver, brought them into the shop, and got a new alternator put in. They got us in, even though they were already busy, so the driver could finish the delivery and then get home still same day. Much appreciated, and very helpful people. Id recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat.

We were stranded on Hwy 95 with a vehicle that had died on us. We were able to locate Cottman Transmission & Total Auto Care, who arranged for a tow truck to pick up our vehicle and brought it into the shop. They got us into their schedule (even though they were already busy), and got a new alternator installed. They got the vehicle started, got it charging, and tested it before letting us get back on the road. Very helpful people, and I would highly recommend them to anyone needing automotive services. Thank you again for your help, guys!

I would not take my vehicle to any other place! The transmission on my 2007 Chevy Malibu went suddenly and the service I received from the team at Cottman was exceptional. They diagnosed the problem quickly then gave me a realistic time frame for the repairs. If you are like me fixing your car is not something you look forward too, but I am thankful I took it to a trust-worthy shop.

wow this guy are the best im a dealer in newton nj i sold a car to a client in hes area i gave jim a call and told him what was going on and rideaway he picked up the vehicle from my client house and i had the car back in 4 days im happy and the moust important my client is happy to thanks jim for all the help

Horrible,I took a2003 Ford Escape to have the transmission rebuilt,when I got it back,I had to end up taking it back 4 times,they gave me a 24month warranty,my transmission went bad on the twenty fourth month,I paid almost $3000.00 I will never ever use them again.
