We would give them 10 stars if we could! Had a wonderful experience with Jim, Pat, Catherine, and Walt at the Wilkes Barre Pep Boys this weekend. They are lifesavers! We had our vehicle serviced at another Pep Boys in S. New Jersey twice last week, the last time to replace the fuel pump. We were leaving for a long weekend trip to Niagara Falls. When we picked up the vehicle from the South Jersey Pep Boys Friday and drove it home to load it we noticed the car smelled like gas so we called the local Pep Boys that had just serviced it and were told that was probably gas that spilled when the gas tank was being replaced after the pump was replaced. We started our drive to Canada on Friday and had to stop in Wilkes Barre, PA for gas at 8:30 on Friday night. When we pumped gas into the car it spilled out all over the pavement at the gas station. We immediately called the Pep Boys in Wilkes Barre and told them our situation. The store closes at 9:00 but Pat told us they would be waiting for us if we could get the car there. We arrived at 8:50 and Pat, Catherine and Jim all stayed well past 9:00 to analyze the problem, call the South Jersey store that had worked on it the previous day and figure out what needed to be done to repair it. After determining a faulty seal had been placed on the gas tank when it was replaced by the other store and that the vehicle was not safe to drive, Jim offered to drive my family of five and our luggage to the hotel where we luckily had found a room. As he dropped us off he promised to call us in the morning and let us know if they had the parts to repair the seal so we could continue our trip. Not only did they repair our car, they delivered it to the hotel and refused to take any money for their efforts simply saying they always try to do the right thing. They sure do! And they restored our faith in humanity! My only regret is that I dont live closer to Wilkes Barre so I could have my car serviced there regularly! Thanks again to everyone at the Wilkes Barre Pep Boys!

I had the most favorable and pleasant experience at the Wilkes-Barre Pep Boys Store on Sunday December 7, 2014. Our Customer Service Representative, Walt Roberts, was very courteous, friendly, and extremely professional. What could have turned into a very miserable experience, became and unexpected pleasant time. At 3:10 PM, we unfortunately drove over some auto accident debris on Route 309 near W-B which yielded a flat tire on our 2014 Jeep. We pulled over on an off ramp. I knew that the Pep Boys Store was close by. Approximately 200 yards behind us. I could see the road sign. Unfortunately we could not drive the car so we called the Pep Boys Store to acquire 3rd party towing service. The towing service told us they could pick us up anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour & 30 minutes. They confirmed that they would arrive at 4:10 PM. So we waited. I called the Pep Boys Store and spoke to Walt to tell him that we were going to be towed to their store and if they would be able to repair our tire. Walt said yes! Good news is that the tow truck arrive within 20 minutes. They were very helpful. When we arrived at the store, Walt greeted us. We walked into the store and gave the appropriate information to Walt. Ten minutes later Walt called me to tell me the tire was repaired and we were ready to go. He told me the bill was $24.11. I told him about the $49 towing charge that was going to be part of our bill too. He told me that he signed us up for your Rewards Program and with the discounts and points, our total bill was only $24.21 WOW! Talk about customer service. Due to their fine service, we were actually back traveling home before 4:05 PM. Walt and the Team were GREAT and we THANK them! Store ID 0390 - Service WO # 2126695

Ive never done too much business with any of these national chain stores other than to buy the parts for a D.I.Y. job and besides that, I have a regular garage that I use where they know me well. The first time I ever went to this Pep Boys was one Sunday morning about two years ago when I came out of church and found a tire low on air. Since this was the third time in two weeks I had to put air in it I decided to get a new one and a friend told me to go to Pep Boys. I found them to be cordial, prompt in service and well priced. I had gone back last summer for two more tires because I was pleased with their prices as well as their product. Recently I needed some work done and didnt have the time to make an appointment with my regular place so I went again to Pep Boys. It had been only the third time since my first visit. I tell you, these guys at the front desk and even the guys working in the garage, one of whom I had the pleasure to talk with after my work was done, are a really professional and pleasant bunch of people. They showed genuine concern over my car from beginning to end and Walt bent himself over backwards getting me every possible deal and price break considering how much I had to get done. He even gave me a coupon for 15% off on certain parts and labor when I didnt have one when I came in. Even more generous was when the coupon didnt work in the computer the manager gave me 10% off the whole shebang which saved me an additional $30.00 overall. In an age when it seems that people have forgotten the meaning of the word "service" these guys at Pep Boys are holding fast to that old world value and are reminding us what it means to give "service with a smile" and at a great value as well.

Took my vehicle in to have thermostat checked. I was told I needed a new gasket and a thermostate. I had my little boy with Down syndrome with me, and so they said I might want to take him home because it would be a long wait. Within an hour an a half they called stating the vehicle was fixed. I was told at the time of service that I could pay fifty dollars more to guarantee that if the thermostat broke within 90 days that mechanics fees and part would be covered. As a single mom, I did not have fifty extra dollars and did not feel a new part should need replacing in 90 days. Not even two weeks went by before car registered at hot again. I had two people look at it and both stated it appeared nothing had been changed at all because IF it had been, there would not have been dirt you could leave finger prints in. Thermostat on this vehicle is not easy to reach and certainly I do agree with these other people. The costs for this repair were $351.00 and that is a lot of money considering the cost of a thermostat alone. I find it very sad to discover grown men would say they did work, when its obvious the thermostat was not changed.
