Dont get me wrong, theyre very polite and courteous, but at the end of the day, the quality and timing of their product is not up to a good standard. I was meant to have two cars inspected in one day. Turns out they didnt have time to do the second, so it was brought in the next day. Note that the first car was dropped off at 7:30AM. Not the end of the world. However, when i came to pick up the second car up (following day at 3PM), i noticed a deep scratch on one of the 19" wheels (approx an inch long). I asked the guy at the desk to come look at it. Straight away he informed me it wasnt them that did it as they dont drive the car. Shortly, the mechanic working on the car comes out and looks at the wheel damage and repeatedly states that he wasnt responsible for it. When asked if he drove it, he told me they took it down the road....so they do drive the car. Finally, the manager comes out and looks at the wheel damage. The biggest indicator that Firestone caused the damage was that there were still flakes of damage hanging off the scratch. Furthermore, upon closer inspection, the wheel damage and tire had speckles of red paint on them. Guess what color the lifts are at Firestone?...RED. Looks like the mechanic was in a bit of a rush and when pulling the car into the bay, he clipped the lift with the front right wheel. Firestone accepted responsibilty for the damage and have worked closely with me to get the damage taken care of. For that i give them credit; however, when i go to get my car inspected, i dont expect to incur $150 worth of damage to an expensive wheel on my car. Moral of the story: Always inspect your car before taking it away from a garage; especially Firestone of Wynnewood. Unfortunately, i wont be taking cars back to them again. Good customer service. Bad workmanship.

I must say...Do listen to the reviews left for this company. I ignored them, figuring that the only people who leave reviews are those who had a negative experience. While I found the staff to be friendly and courteous, the final results were atrocious. I was having a brand new set of tires mounted and balanced, the cheapest rate I could find for 35 series tires and lower. I was replacing the old tires not because of treadwear, but because they were over 6 yrs old. I still wanted to keep two of the old tires, just for temporary backups. I never specified which two, and they were nice enough to bring me around back so I could show the technician which two. When I left the shop, I reached 40mph when the car began shaking, just as it was when I took it in. Balanced?! Did they even TRY to balance them? They sure did the alignment check that I didnt ask for originally. I called, and the rep was again courteous on the phone...Sure, just come back and we will RE-balance the tires. I wasnt thrilled, and didnt plan to go back at least for a few days. The very next night, I exited my car to find that one of the tires was completely flat. I had the EXACT problem going in! How can you honestly balance a tire if the rim is bent?! As mentioned, I SWEAR, they figured the tire balance would be fine and never ran them on the machine! I even had told them that the one tire was flat and I had NO IDEA why. No punctures, no valve stem issue... Finally, to top this off...When I originally got home, I removed the two tires I kept from the trunk...They didnt even get that right! Im sure it being Friday the 13th didnt help much either... I will be reposting my upcoming dealing with them. While I hope it goes well, I doubt it according to these reviews. 04/14/12

DAvicos Auto Repair vs. Firestone of Ardmore Came in for a simple oil change at DAvicos (that was overpriced at almost $42) and they came out with a laundry list of things that were wrong with my car. The worst was that I needed a new right rear brake caliper - even worse - it was going to cost a grand total of $475. I was told it was absolutely imperative that I have the repairs done immediately at the risk of my brakes locking up, overheating, blowing a tire, etc. etc. I was absolutely terrified to drive my car! I immediately called my boyfriend (who has his own set of mechanical skills but is back in NC) and he informed me that brake calipers were (at most) $140. DAvicos wanted to charge me $210. I decided then and there to go for a second opinion. I ended up calling Firestone in Ardmore and they offered to do a free brake check the very next day. While they were extremely busy and it took a while for them to take my car back to the garage, they were quick to find the REAL problem. The brackets were sticking - thats it. They cleaned the caliper, grinded the brackets a bit to ensure the sticking wouldnt reoccur, and I opted for new rear brakes. They also found my left front valve stem was leaking and replaced it for no charge. They were ridiculously thorough, kept me informed, and fixed each and every problem for $130. Ill give it to DAvicos staff - they were nice and experienced in what they do - but the fact remains that they told me I needed an unnecessary repair AND were going overcharging me if I chose to do it. Bottom line: Go to Firestone in Ardmore and ask for Marvin (hes there 7 days a week). The wait may be a little longer than youd like, but it saved me almost $350. Well worth it.

Live a mile down the road from this Firestone in Wynnewood. Have never really had any issues. Always get my oil changed here at a good price. They usually tell me if anything else is going wrong with the car (i.e. brakes or air filter), which I can usually take care of myself. Also use them if I ever have any tire issues. Just be sure to purchase the tire warranties; they are well worth it. Went for years without having to pay for new tires until they did away with full warranties up to a certain mile and started to provide warranties based on the wear levels on the tires, but still worth it. Since I live a mile away, its very convenient for me to drop my car off, walk home, and walk back to pick it up later in the day. Theyve always been up front about how long it will take to get my oil change done (either an hour or a few hours; if theyre really busy, theyll tell me that too, in which case i just come back another day). Finally, bought the life-time wheel allignment, which i can use at any Firestone across the US, good for the life of the car. Ive had to deal with a few typical "mechanic" moments, where they offer to do work for me, but I always decline and check out what needs to be done myself. In the end, they are helpful, friendly, and have always been professional in my dealings with them, and for these reasons I keep going back. Ill probably be leaving the area in a few months, and will definately miss the convenience of having a Firestone, my mechanic, down the road from me.
