The service at this location is nothing short of fantastic, and my experience today was a perfect example. I had the pleasure of working with Terrance, and he was awesome. I didnt realize it at the time, but I walked in one minute before it was time for the office to close, and Terrance didnt mention anything of it. Thats a very big deal to me because Ive had jobs similar to his and I HATED when people came in right before closing. Terrance not only took care of everything I needed, he went above and beyond by helping me bring a few things to my car that I would have struggled to get in on my own. By this time, he should have been done with work 15 minutes ago but instead of trying to rush me out, he offered to help with anything else I needed. Some people may see this as just him doing his job, but thats not the case. Terrance could have easily taken my payment & closed down shop, but he chose to stick around to make sure I didnt need help with anything else. Again, this is just one example of the great service that is given every single day at this location, and they deserve recognition for what they do here. I promise you this: If every establishment, not just storage facilities, had employees like Terrance, there wouldnt be nearly as many negative reviews on this site. He exemplifies the reason that I choose to store my items at this location even though I live an hour away.

Though technically a "climate-controlled" storage unit (they keep the temp at 80 ℉ apparently), this is not what I expected after renting a true climate-controlled unit elsewhere for the same price. Mold still grows in SC at 80 ℉, especially when there is not adequate insulation, which is the issue with these units. The units are all ground-floor with little elevation, and there was evidence of flooding within our unit. Additionally, all units are connected to neighboring ones by several inches at the top, which means that if a neighbor bug-bombs, your stuff gets covered in it with no warning (Ive had this happen in a comparable unit - the management says they will evict whoever did it, however, its impossible to figure out who did it since the units are all connected, or when, so they cant really follow through on the eviction). Your money would be better spent to store your stuff at Extra Space Storage on Harbison, which is where we will be storing ours now. It is truly indoor, legitimately climate and humidity controlled, and very clean. You wont have to worry about water damage, mold, insects, or bug-bombs from neighboring units there, and the price is comparable. This Public Storage is extremely over-priced and advertised in a very misleading manner, so beware!

I put my belongings in a storage building at the Cayce location. They were in there a total of 8 days, along with my brand new mattress set still wrapped in plastic! Awaiting for our new home to become available to move in. When we went to pick up my things, the mattress had been chewed threw by an animal of sorts. I immediately called the property manager and she was the least bit nice about it. No im so sorry or anything helpful. She acted like this was somehow our fault. I contacted the insurance company that i paid for through Public Storage and they have expressed to me that the insurance I purchased does not cover varmen damage, that its a separate insurance. Which of course I was never informed nor offered this insurance because surely I would have purchased it. So renters beware. They have mice, lots of them. Get yourself the Varmen insurance so you dont get screwed like we did.

Moved from Nashville area to W. Columbia and was unsure exactly what size unit(s) I would need. I arrived 10 minutes before closing and was able to reserve two units: a 10 x 20 climate controlled unit and a 10 x 10 outside unit. Naturally, neither the 15% off online discount nor the $1 first month rent applied!! I was able to fit everything in the 10 x 20 climate controlled unit, so when I returned the next day to cancel the 10 x 10, I was told I would have to pay the entire months rent on BOTH units! So now Im paying $152 (119 unit + 22 admin fee + 11 insurance) for a unit Ill NEVER use. I called the district manager (Bill) and asked him to look into this for me. Ive called him 5 times, have left messages each time, and have yet to receive a call back (3 weeks have passed). Stay away from this company: their policies are ridiculous and their people dont communicate.

Great experience. I had a smaller unit at this location for a couple years and needed to upgrade.The reservation was easily made online with their user friendly website. Donna, manager on duty, was extremely friendly and professional. She went above and beyond to make sure we were getting the correct unit for our needs and understood the cost and billing going forward.The lot is clean and well secured. By far the best storage facility in the area.

Jane is outstanding with customer service. She really goes above and beyond to help you get the very best unit for the money. She rode me around in the rain on the golf cart showing me different units to help me make a better decisions to suit my storage needs. Jane is an asset to this company and I would recommend her to anyone at anytime. Thank you Jane for such a wonderful experience during a stressful time.

Very clean and welcoming facilities in cayce. I was very impressed with the knowledge of the staff. Very friendly and helpful but professional also. The manager on duty, Jane, made me feel valued as a customer. Never treated me like a bother or a burden when I came there from another location with my reservation. Highly recommended renting from this location.

I was very impressed by the way the manager conducted business when I stopped by to inquire about a storage. Jane answered every question I could think of and was very patient as I wrote the answers in my notebook. She never made me feel like I was a bother. I am not moving for a few months, but Jane has convinced me that public storage is the best choice.
