Beware. Ours was not one of the glowing one-liner experiences found elsewhere here in their reviews. Many of reviews here are obvious plants, but I guess that happens everywhere these days. Among other problems we experienced with this business, the most troubling for us was their deceptive pricing tactics. It appears, like the local hospital, everyone pays something different at Compass, subject to the whimsy of management. Once youre in, at six months theyll increase your rent without notice and by a minimum of ten percent, then increase it again every six month period thereafter. Also, (in FL anyway) they illegally require you to pay property insurance on their rentals as a condition of occupancy. I suspect the bogus insurance is a profit center for corporate, so a hard sell is company policy. We, like most others, avoided conflict and paid the nominal minimum premium, advising them the practice was illegal. The employees obviously dont care, deferring to the corporation, who I imagine will blame employees when theyre finally caught. I strongly advise you to examine their rental contract carefully before signing as its not what it appears to be. Strike what you dont agree to as some of it is just absurd, printed in micro print for obvious reasons. As for the staff at this particular location, experienced management are on-site during the day from time to time and when there, theyre helpful. Other of their employees are just clueless. Id rank security here as modest, with lighting at night an ever present and on-going issue. Unit construction is substandard, with little more than drywall separating some unit walls (ask about your neighbors). The property is completely unsupervised after dark, and several of their rental areas are VERY DARK. They have cameras so youll get a nice video of the thieves after the fact. Climate is reasonably controlled in such units and for the most part the place is kept reasonably clean. Ive been through this location in the middle of the night to find unit doors closed with lights and TV sound coming from inside, so there are a couple of vagrant types living in their units, however theyre probably not the ones youd have to worry about ripping you off. Sorry, but I cannot recommend this location when comparing them with nearby competition. First, I prefer consistent and fair pricing to old school bait and switch. I also prefer a level of security not featured at this location, especially considering theyre charging above market price. 24 hour trained and thoroughly vetted on-site management is preferable, for piece of mind if nothing else. In fairness, if you dont mind systematic rent increases, limited security and specifically, taking your chances at night; or your stored property is of limited value and youre just looking for a space with AC near you, take a shot. You could get lucky if moneys not an object. We didnt have anything stolen here but frankly thats hardly the standard when considering public storage. They ran us off with their usurious pricing scheme, more than anything else. The comedy of that is if our unit sits empty even for a single month, it will take them a year and a half to break even on the final proposed increase, before they again start to make more money on the monthly rental than they lost from us. Plus, (obviously) they also made this glaring business mistake with a customers who share their business experiences with other people on the internet. Not smart business people here.

I have been renting several units at this location since before Compass purchased this property, and I have to say that I am totally pleased at the courtesy and professionalism that the staff has afforded me. The rates are very competitive with other storage facilities in this area, and I will continue to rent in the future as needs dictate. I have dealt with various property managers at this facility, and found them not only to be courteous, but also willing to go out of their way to accommodate my needs. My son who is in the military, and for whom I rent the storage units to store personal items through his many deployments, is also thankful for the help of management. The manager Priscilla and her staff are most helpful and welcoming. I have no reservations in recommending this facility to my friends or anyone needing a storage unit.

First of all I highly recommend this location. From the time I walked in I was greeted with a smile and a professional hello. I introduced myself and then she introduced herself. I explained that I had check other storages facilities but felt they did not want my business. All my questioned were answered politely and she took the time to even show me the unit that would be mine by taking me in the golf cart. I felt that she heard everything I said and even explain how to utilize all the space in the storage unit which I forgot to ask. After I filled out the paperwork she asked if I had any more questions. She gave me her busy card, Priscilla Cruz. I feel Priscilla is very kind and caring as well as respectful and professional to her customers. She gave more than 100%, Priscilla gave 110%. I am so pleased with Compass Self Storage.

On Wednesday I stopped by as a follow up to some business I was conducting in the area and immediately upon walking into the office I was greeting by Priscilla with a smile. She took the time to address my questions and provide me with sound knowledge. As a previous client of Compass, I always received amazing support from the office staff. Like when I requested an alternative location to park my boat to ease the accessibility early in the morning to get out on the water. Within a day Priscilla was able to accommodate my request. Rates were decent as well. She is up front about the cost and nothing changes when you come back at a later date. She honors her quote. No tricks!! Great business ethics. When we buy a new boat, we know where we are going to store it!! At COMPASS!!!

Back-to-back 20% price hikes (thats approx 40% in 24 months!!). Year one, I understood the 20% increase to make up for the first years teaser rate which enticed me to leave my previous storage location. However, merely 6 months after the first 20 percent hike, I was hit with a 10-percent hike and now (another 6 months later) ANOTHER 10-plus percent hike - essentially back-to-back years of 20% rate hikes (approx 40 percent). I read the other reviews and agree with the detailed reviewer who surmised that many of these one-liner glowing puff pieces are plants. And, I agree that the on-site personnel are congenial. No doubt the price hiking is straight from management. No faster way to "shove" me out the door, though Ive paid on time for two years. But 40% in 2 years is extreme.

Very helpful, made the process easy, and facility is new and clean. I needed a storage place for my vehicle for Hurricane Irma, but was working every day up until the Hurricane. My husband was able to get me a perfect space to fit my large sedan with ease. I was able to send all my information to my husband and just provide car information the next day. Our two girls were getting antsy while my husband was getting all the paperwork done, but no problem- the lady at the office provided large, coloring book pages and markers. To me, she went above and beyond most. I am so thankful for this local storage facility, literally a minute from my home. I highly recommend this business.
