This has been anything but a "stress free" move. You reserve your move through a call center. First red flag. They give a general quote and then relay the notes to the local franchise. The Knoxville franchise was the worst experience we have ever had with a move. The call center gave completely incorrect data. (Our call with them was recorded so the owner of this location admitted to us as well as the lead mover showing us his paperwork that the data was incorrect and - at that point - we were not at fault) The movers showed up and smelled so badly of cigarettes it was overwhelming. They were completely confused because they were given the complete wrong info about our move. When they got to our storage, they informed my husband that they would not be able to fit our items into their truck so my husband had to load his truck and my father in law had to drive out and help also. Then, as previously mentioned, the owner and another guy showed up, took my husband outside to discuss with him privately, came back in and said they would give us a "deal" by charging us $10 more than the $690 top end quote we were given. Then they took a smoke break while we served them drinks and bought them lunch because we actually felt bad that they were given the wrong info and were clearly unprepared for our move. When the first load in their truck was done, the movers collected payment from us and......they LEFT. They left our storage unit with items in it open and the job unfinished. Just never came back. Seriously. My husband had to call off of work for the following day which was an overnight trip so he was knocked out of two days of work as well as his company having to shell out $400 per day to a replacement for his absence. We called the company to express these issues, as well as our damaged items, and the call center told me we would receive two calls. One from the local office and one from a corporate office. Another not true statement because the only call we got was from the Knoxville owner. The Knoxville owner did call us back and came in his own truck that day to finish the job. His choice that we did not request. Though, this was only after our complaint and after my husband already lost his work trip. Before he left our home, he wanted to address our damaged items. I was not home so he got onto the phone with me. I was unsatisfied with his offer as well as the charge from the first day and he proceeded to tell me how his guys worked for free (lie. We asked them specifically before they left.) , that he worked for free (lie. Franchise owners draw a salary and generally have the integrity to take every opportunity to satisfy a customer and complete a job so they get good reviews. He walked away from my husband to speak to me, lied about things my husband said about his satisfaction, spoke over me, and basically said he took a huge loss (though when you measure what we paid against the cost of the truck and the hourly wage movers for this company make, he may have lost profit but no actual loss would be possible) which was more of a big deal to him than the losses we took. He literally said "I own this franchise and I took a huge hit." As though that was somehow my fault. I then decided to communicate with him one more time before taking further action. He did not answer but tried to call someone else back and accidentally dialed me. I explained the situation one more time and he replied that hed put it into his notes and call me this morning.(which he did not do) I told him I would be disputing the transaction with our card company if he could not come to an agreement with me. His response was "okay" and he hung up on me. He showed up at 7pm today to bring back our damaged items and didnt address the issues at all. He literally dropped off the items without asking if we even agreed that they were fixed and walked out the door. This owner is unprofessional, dishonest, and disrespectful. We will not ever recommend this business to anyone.

This may say a 10 but that is because there was no number higher! The 3 man crew (Patrick, Albert, and Rick) we had was beyond amazing! We have had our fair share of horrible experiences using movers so when it was time to move again, we thought we would do it ourselves. However, that was not possible. This was an extreme last minute move and we were up the creek without a paddle. We tried a couple other places first and they were not able to help us. They didnt have anyone and no one was willing to work on Sunday. So, our last hope was College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving of Knoxville. They were very helpful and understood our situation. They were not able to help us that day but said they could have us a fresh crew first thing Sunday morning! And they were reasonably priced! They didnt charge some extra fee for being last minute. The crew called about 30 mins before they would be there so we knew they were close. Once there, they did a walk through to see what all they were moving and they didnt get mad at us that we were packing as they loaded. They didnt complain once about the heavy stuff we had and there was a lot of it! They were very informative and careful of each piece they moved. We were moving out of a 3rd floor apartment and the stairs were rough but they did it amazingly! I felt so bad, that I told them to throw things off the balcony (if it wouldnt break the stuff) and they were thankful for that! They made sure there was no damage to our things. I will say that when we are ready to move again, we will be contacting College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving again hands down! One last side note, it was amazing to have a group of movers with a sense of humor!

From the phone call to ask for information to completing the job, I was impressed with every step! I dont remember the girls name in the office but she kept saying "okie dokie". Not sure what it is, but that just calmed me down. When I finally bought my new home I had 24hours to get a moving crew and get moved. Steve came out to give us a quote and see what we needed. He was honest, and instead of seeing an opportunity to gouge us since we were between a rock and a hard place, he kept reassuring us that hed take care of us. When Patrick, Jesse and Kyle showed up the next morning, they were on time and after the introductions and a quick walk through of the house so they knew what was being packed, they got to work. They worked so hard. I couldnt believe what they accomplished in just the first hour! They would have worked straight through until the job was done but I made them stop and get a drink and eat something. Because what "college hunk" doesnt want pizza?! :) I was so impressed with the work these guys did. So polite, respectful of our home by using pads over the carpet to avoid tracking in dirt! I didnt know what to expect and I couldnt believe the care they took to wrap and protect our furniture. I wish Id used them in the past with other moves. Ill highly recommend them to anyone and everyone.
