I scheduled an appointment to have a new battery installed a week ago. I scheduled my appointment for 5pm and arrived early to have my new battery installed. I checked in with the service desk, gave them my key and waited for the installation to be completed. At 5:45 I noticed my car was still in the parking lot, untouched. I visited the service desk to inquire why my car had not been serviced yet and was informed that they were very busy. I can understand that an automotive service company will get very busy with walk ins and cars to service but dont understand why appointments are offered it the appointment times are not honored. At 6pm my car finally went back for the installation. At 6:20 I was called to the service desk, where my air filters were placed on the desk. I was told that during the inspection on my car they had noticed that I needed two new air filters and three new belts and that they could take care of that for me for only $357 and change. I asked if my battery was installed to which I was told "not yet". I asked that all my filters be returned to their original positions and that my battery be installed. I can appreciate that they want to make sure my car is in good working order but making me wait over an hour to only try to upsell me made me angry. To add insult to injury my check engine light lit up on the way home. It turns out one of the air filters was not replaced properly. Do yourself a huge favor and go to Auto Zone right down the road, I wish I had.

Needed a battery for my car. Google said they had the right type. Sign on front window says, literally "free battery testing and professional installation" so I go in, buy the battery ($200? When did battery prices go up so much?), and the guy tells me to take it to service desk and I can have it installed. Service desk guy takes my personal info down, including DL number for some reason, and then says "that will be $85" for the install. I walk him out to the front of the building and show him the sign. He says, "Yeah? So? Installation is not free inspection is free." We go around in circles for a few minutes, I get tired of explaining what the definition of the word is is, and go take my battery from his desk. Installed it myself in 10 minutes, and most of that time was finding my socket set. So their labor rate is apparently $500/hr or so.

This is the worse...Poor customer service. After spending hundreds of dollars nearly a week ago with this place in correcting problem with the check engine light, within a couple days light back on with related problem. Kept given the run around to get it checked out. Told to come by first thing in the morning. Present when doors opened, told itll be a couple of hours. After 6 hours and no phone call, decided to head to the shop. Workers sitting around bull crapping....Said that they have to start from scratch and do another diagnostic test. What the ......youve been doing with my vehicle for 6 hours. No good reason, excuses for days and my car still aint fixed. Will not recommend this place to no one. They are money hungry, lazy and very inconsiderate.

I scheduled a an oil change for 5 PM and showed up five minutes early. Gentleman named Nathan was the only person at the registers and I spent 15 minutes listening to him shoot the breeze with some former employees. Finally, I asked a random mechanic what it was looking like before I got my car in and Nathan informed me that they only schedule three people after 5 PM so it was going to be probably an hour and a half before my car was taken. Im pretty upset that you can schedule an appointment but it literally means nothing. Ive heard bad things about Pep Boys, but I had a coupon so I decided to try them out. It is worth paying any amount more than down to at least get seen

Been having them work on my car since September. Having the same problems, along with other things I wasnt expecting. Going to Florida to see my son, after having the boys work on my car. Long story short. My tire came off while driving 70miles per hr. Can you say ruined Christmas. I had my grandsons with me in the xar. Four hours on the side of the road with 5 kids. I was told I never had a break inspection done. Yet I have my paper showing I did. Not to mention the Pep boys in Mobil Alabama was told yes. We did an break inspection. Thanks Mobil Alabama for helping me and my grandsons. So disappointed in my Pep Boys of Madison, Tn.

I am here from Florida with a company, and I have needed service, maintenance and some special order emergency items. They have always gotten my Emergency Situations taken care of ASAP. I have a total of 4 trucks and a cargo van. The Service from the Shop Manager has been great, and all of the work done has been at a great cost. not to high and not to low. They always let me know what needs to be done, and what can just be done to limp by if that is what I needed, though I have always had everything repaired to standard. Yes I have spent 7K but other places wouod have charged more, and not done as well. THANK YOU ALL!!!

I have never in the 17 years that I have owned cars had as awful an experience as I have at this Pep Boys. They tried to over charge me, tacked on extended warranty and only when I reviewed the charges did I see it. The intial toal was $562.00 after reviewing the bill the new total was $403.00 big difference. The customer service was seriously lacking, I was left on hold, disconnected at one point. Told they ordered the wrong part and the right one was conviently $40 more. They are the typical shady auto mechanic. What a nightmare experience!!!!! I wouldnt even give it one star. Avoid at ALL costs.

Went in to get new rotors and pads installed. They had my truck all day and called to tell me they were unable to get my rotors off. I picked up my truck and i heard grind8ng on th3 way home. When i parked smome was coming out from wheel well. I took the wheel off and notices they had warped and broke the rotor so bad that it was rubbing the caliper bracket causing friction so bad that it melted my abs sensor and the outer boot on my cv axle. They also ruined my wheel hub by beating on the rotor. They turned a $100 job into a $1500 job. Way to go.

Jim and his crew just helped my wife who is traveling from St. Louis to fix her tire. After being rejected by Crap-Mart I mean Wal-Mart because they were scared about an Ice Storm. This location fixed my wifes tire and in no time for a great price and with great service. That Wal-Mart is Southern Hospitality maybe you could learn something. You see I am from the Show-Me state and that is how you show good customer service. I will always be a Pep-Boys fan. Have my business from here on out. Thanks to your store.
