I worked there as a package handler for six months, about two months into my employment I started having bad back pains at work and they refused to send me to a physician to get things settled. Pain got unbearable and that night I ended up going to the doctor and having x-rays done of my back cause I dont have any insurance. Ended up with 692 dollars worth of bills I had to take care of myself cause these guys were too sorry to do anything or just had lack of empathy. The work is not hard by any means, but if you follow the proper lifting procedure, its going to bring your "scan rate" down and the managers are all about this. You are constantly hounded if your scan rate isnt good, management will be breathing down your neck waiting for you to "pick it up" and you will be very irate. Everyday I would walk into the place my manager would give me the "safety is our #1 priority speech" and I just got really tired of it because at the end of they day, they dont care about us, our safety, their co-workers, etc. they just care about being paid. Paychecks are weekly at this facility, which doesnt say much because you only work 3 hours a day if youre lucky. If you dont want your paycheck to be absolute garbage, youre going to have to work an extra shift, on top of the one you just done. Extremely physical work with mediocre pay to hour ratio, lack of concern for personal safety, seems like were on a trend here! The last incident that I had was that my previous manager was helping me load my truck because it was almost finished and ready to deliver. I had hopped out of the truck to put the finishing touches on the truck and I just feel something hit me in the back while I was loading the truck. I look back and the chute the boxes come down is about 5-6 inches from pinning me between it and the truck. If not for the longer "safety" chain, which most managers end up detaching anyways, I would have been paralyzed IF I WAS LUCKY. I again had immediate back pain and told various managers concerning my pain and what needs to be done and I couldnt get anything out of them. It just so happens that people from the Human Resources department had already left for the evening. My back pain declined and was gone by the next morning. I informed someone with HR and their maintenance group didnt fix the faulty chain for like 3 days and when they did, they replaced the wrong one. I decided to resign shortly after cause I was fed up with the way things were going. I had an overall negative experience and therefore would not recommend someone to this job.

My husband and I got a TV ordered and Fed Ex delivered our TV. It was a 50 Inch TV in a not so good part of Nashville TN and they left a 50 TV outside on our door. THE dang TV. Are you serious? It even had on the package Fragile Keep Dry good thing it did not rain. Number 2 Christmas I ordered my grandchildren a 32TV and they Fed Ex ground left it on the back porch IN THE RAIN good thing it was bubble wrapped. I did not even know it was delivered till days later when I tracked my package cause it was late. It said delivered to back door. I have a fenced in back deck. I absolutely and sick of Fed Ex doing this. PEOPLE dont use Fed Ex. I would not give them any stars but it wont let me warn people without picking at least one star. Thanks for listening. Ive been working as a package handler at FedEx Ground Nashville for almost a year now. Most people realize the importance of the work we do here---transporting goods from sellers to buyers all over the world. Few understand the challenging physical intensity involved. We work day and night, in all manner of weather. But the thing I most respect about this company is that they go out of their way to employ racial minorities; people coming out of drug problems; older people displaced by economic upheaval; veterans, and people with physical limitations. When you send a package through FedEx, youre employing the American working class. We all come together, every day, whether its 25 degrees or 95 degrees, and we get it done. Its a privilege to be a part of it.

This is a bad place to work. They dont care about the employees, packages or anything else..only thing they care about is getting paid! If you ever see them wear t-shirts that say FEDEX CARES...they lie! And Safety Safety Safety...what a crock ! No wonder they have such a huge turn over in employees! Make this place your last resort to work..or just make sure you speak up for your self when something is not right. Like they tell you...see something, say something!

LOWER YOUR EXPECTATIONS. Dont trust the website expected delivery time. This facility, along with my shipment tracking, was a day later than they told me they would deliver for a very important package. I kept calling and FedEx would not give me the number for the facility so I could just pick it up. Guess the driver decided that I wasnt worth his time, and ruined my trip departure plans. THEIR TIMING IS AWFUL.

Why do I love this place? Thats a strong word and I dont remember telling anyone I did love it. I guess 5 Stars is synonymous with love to Google. Next time I talk to my mom Im going to tell her five stars for you Mom. I wonder if everyone knows 5 Stars equals love and Im the crazy one.

Routinely said they could not find my expensive priority packages-- not with name, not with address, not with tracking number.
