This is a review for my first experience there and the way I have been treated, not the place itself. A few days ago I went to this place for the first time (with my friend) and I faced these: 1) after registration, the person who was taking care of us, said that we can have a free one time trainer. Looking at my schedule, I told that I can come at 6:00pm. The person though said, I am gonna put you at 5:30, but we know you will show up at 6:00pm. I emphasized several times that I will be there at 6:00, not 5:30 and he said it is fine (he put my friends name for 6:00pm spot -- we were supposed to show up together). The day after that I received a call that "do not forget to come at 5:30pm"!! I then explained the situation on phone and he said he will fix it. I was there at 5:58pm, the front desk said that your slot has been at 5:30pm!!! and it is passed. Then, I had to explain the whole story to her again. 2) Since my friends name was in calendar for 6:00pm slot, a trainer was supposed to take care of us. The person at the desk asked us to wait for him (and I was seeing the trainer which was a few meters away from us). after waiting for around 10 minutes the trainer came close to us, but he immediately went to the couple beside us (which I believe were there to register) and asked me to wait. To make the story short, he never showed up and when after almost 30 minutes when we asked the front desk that we are still waiting, some one else came to us and said "sorry for the wait, he was in the rest room!!! and he will be with you shortly" (despite the fact that I was chasing the trainer all the time with my eyes), and then he said "why dont you go and warm up on the trade mill, he will be with you shortly"... HE NEVER SHOWED UP and we left the gym after one hour!

The atmosphere is nice, and this is the gym that my fiance goes to so I decided to open a membership myself. I paid cash for the start up and everything and got a receipt. Then a week later we find out that my account has been closed. I broke my ankle/foot right after, so I didnt have time to bother or worry about it. We contacted them again a few weeks ago since I can do some things now, and wanted to be able to go back. They said that they issued a refund check to me back when it was closed, but they sent it to an address that we havent had in 5 years. I went in and spoke to someone about having another one issued, and they tried to sell me on a completely different service. When I told them that I wanted what I signed up for and refused to pay anything else and I just wanted my refund back, they got all huffy and shut down. I was told last Friday that I would be receiving my refund check, as I live in the same city, it should have been here by now. I called them to check on the status of the check, and they told me that there was no note in the acct that I was ever getting one issued. (they had already told me that they never received my money, and had gotten onto the person who handled the acct set up bc I did have a receipt to prove I had done so) Now they are telling me that, I am wrong, that I never turned in any money and are pretty much refusing to give me my money back. I had planned on going back after the holidays when I would be closer to 100% on my foot/ankle, but now, I will NEVER sign up with them again. At least not this location. Everyone there is horrible.

Never have a given anything a 1-star rating on Google Maps, but the LA Fitness establishment in north Arlington is simply infuriating. I had a membership there last summer, which was all good and fine. After dropping the membership at the end of the summer, I received a bombardment of phone calls asking to rejoin, after the fact that I asked them repeatedly to remove me from their phone call directory. I have been treated like dirt by not only the front desk staff, but the management as well. I hesitated to give this LA Fitness a 1-star rating, because of the fact that the equipment is top-notch and the place is well-kept. However, I have never felt so insulted by a staff in my life. I attempted to come back in the Winter of that same year, and after 45 minutes of interrogation after I tried to come in as a guest, I finally decided to pay a ridiculous $64 for a one-month membership that I could only use for two-and-a-half weeks. I encourage you to look elsewhere, basically anywhere else, if you want to get a rec center membership.

The facility is fantastic, but cleanliness doesnt seem to be a priority. The pool is always disgusting with dirt stains on the bottom and on the sides. Management says it is cleaned every Thursday, but I think they just dump chemicals in it and call it a day. It clearly isnt scrubbed. The turn-over rate is unbelievable! They must be terrible to their employees, because no one stays long. Richard, the Personal Trainer, is fantastic! I highly recommend him. Richard is the only good attribute about LA Fitness Arlington. Ive had a billing problem that I have been trying to sort out for 6 weeks now. Ive spoken with 6 people now and so far my problem has not been resolved. NO ONE EVER RETURNS YOUR PHONE CALLS!!!!! Its frustrating and I will be very happy when Im no longer a member of this crappy gym.

Equipment is regularly broken. Weights are unorganized and scattered all over the gym. Mens locker room smells terrible. No towels available. Staff doesnt clean anything. The restrooms are old and there is always piss all over the floor. Paper towels and hand sanitizer and frequently unavailable. Water pressure in the water fountains is abysmal. Honestly theres much more wrong with this place, but I think you get the point. My last straw was trying to get other locations added to my membership. They wanted $104 to add extra clubs, plus $5 a month. Cant wait to see how hard they make it to cancel a membership. The nearby rec center, 24 hour fitness, and just about any gym Ive ever been to are better than this place.

David, the manager, does not listen no matter how many times members tell him that the water in the pool is far too cold for aquatics. Numerous aquatics participants have complained to him and he simply ignores us. As a manager, he clearly knows the weekly aquatics schedule yet the warm water jets come on a half hour after the class has started and often not at all. More and more people are leaving because they are tired of asking and being ignored. Members have noticed that other LA Fitness locations keep their pool water at the appropriate temperature so they are going there or leaving for another fitness company altogether. Winter is coming and who knows what the water temperature will be then.

Well, here I ago again. Thought I had posted my review. Let me make this short! Im one feee 5 day pass. This gym has a cafe bar full of nutritious smoothies and so on. This gym does not have a hot tub nor a steam room. This gyms fitness class rooms is very nice & spacious however when I got there on today @ 5:45p.m. the class was very small. Zumba class with joy was very slow. The sauna room is located inside the locker room. The light was out from inside the sauna room. Which made the sauna very dark! One of the bathrooms had no door & one of the sinks was very dirty full of paper towels. The locker rooms are made out of what looks like real wood.
