CUT: I followed my stylist, Amanda, to the downtown location a couple of years ago after first discovering her at the Northwest Hills salon in 2010. She is the only person whos ever been able to consistently cut my wavy-curly hair into a manageable style and now I wont let anyone else touch it! Besides being immensely talented, Amanda is very collaborative and will take whatever time is needed until youre happy with the results. COLOR: I started seeing Aracelli in October to correct a previous colorists work and have been very impressed with her eye for subtle color variations. She added partial highlights and a glaze to cool down the overly warm base Id been given and has been very patient about getting my color back on track. All in all, I cant say enough about the professionalism of everyone at the salon. Its a really pleasant place with people who know what theyre doing!

Lauren is the bomb! Not only is she a great stylist, she is a warm-hearted, thoughtful and she listens to you -- which is an important attribute in a stylist. I recently went to a very short haircut and she did a great job! I was looking for a style that was short and easy to care for, but also feminine and modern looking. And that is exactly what I got! It has great texture and I am able to style it many different ways -- which is not always the case with short haircuts. I have received many compliments on it! Additionally, the staff at Avant Salon on Pressler is always courteous and friendly to me, I never have to wait, and the prices are very reasonable! I always recommend Avant (and Lauren) to my friends!

The estheticians at this spa are wonderful and so are the aveda products. (Capital of Texas Highway location). However, the customer service is beyond horrible. My appointments have been cancelled at the last minute several times with no compensation offered. Not even an apology! Every time I go the front desk is rude and treats me like I am not good enough to be there. Hello! I am a MD! Regardless, any paying customer should be treated with respect and courtesy, no matter their title. Unfortunately, I will be seeking for another esthetician. I loved my esthetician at Avant but I do not have the patience to deal with the rude, young, snobby girls working there.

Roxana is your go-to-girl...shes young, hip, in the know....I went from very long to very short...I love it! She is very in-tune and kept me in the loop. Im someone who kept my hair long for years partly because I would literally get sick to my stomach beforehand and definitely afterwards would lose my lunch from the disappointing experience! So yes it is fair to surmise im not an easy client to please. Yesterday was like a spa treatment...but like a spa treatment... I not only left feeling great...I was looking great too! I have been a client at Avant downtown for many years and have always had wonderful experiences there. The stylists and front desk staff are kind, attentive and flexible with scheduling. The clientele varies widely in style and age and there are zero annoying vibes from the other clients, or more importantly, any of the people that work there. I have a very short hairstyle which needs to be cut often. I always leave happy and looking gorgeous. You cant go wrong with John! I would definitely recommend this salon for anyone.

Araceli is my stylist at the Pressler location. I cannot say enough about her excellent work. She is also such a kind and great person. The Avant Salon at Pressler has such a warm and friendly atmosphere. Its always a pleasure to be a customer there. Often, a salon with an impressive reputation can be intimidating and unwelcoming unless you fit a certain "type." In the 25 years Ive been an Avant customer that has never been true. It is a warm and friendly environment: and the Pressler location is no exception.

Go to Aaron and get your hair cut! He is amazing... as an ex-stylist I am beyond picky, and he does a masterful job everytime. He is good and taking constructive criticism and always makes sure I am satisfied. And he has great technique and is always furthering his education. Plus you cant beat that wonderful Aveda smell!!

Their stylists are trained to provide precision haircuts. The customer service has always impressed me, as they aim to please!

My guy left so I havent been back here but its a nice salon, Up to date, Aveda style. They are under new ownership and the stylists all have a certain quota of product they need to sell to you (very evident) but I dont mind too much and like trying new products anyhow.

I called the salon and made an appointment. I was going to have to wait a week and a half to get in but decided to wait. I showed up for my appointment and they had totally erased my appointment. There was no record of me. Total incompetence.

I love this salon. I have never had anything but an awesome experience here. I highly recommend Crystal for color and Jon for cut. (I have medium length highlighted hair.) Jon also cuts my twin boys hair and they LOVE him.
