Jamie Grove is the best of the best! Ive never had a hairdresser that I trust completely, but Jamie has never failed me. Matter of fact, I always leave MORE pleased than what I was even expecting! Her ombre skills are killer. And, shes so in tune with changing her cutting and coloring techniques for each persons hair type and texture. Ive always had extremely long hair (a couple inches above my butt) and because I trusted Jamie so much, I let her cut off over 20 inches. Ive never had a good short haircut, but Jamie of course did AMAZING and I love it! My favorite thing is that she isnt going to let you leave until she is satisfied. A few times Ive been totally happy with it, but Jamie is like "come back in a few days, I want to let your hair settle a bit and then add a few more pieces of color." And she wont charge you for this. Im telling you, shes not going to let you leave with anything but a 5 star hairdo. Plus, she offers free trims. One time she did heavy color on me and even threw in a deep moisturizing mask for free just because she knew it would help my hair and make the color look even better! Can you ask for anything better in a hair dresser?! Ill never go to anyone else in Austin. Jamie, please never move!

Since Rachel has been doing my hair - cut and color - I get more compliments from friends and strangers than I have ever had in my life. Her cuts are long-lasting - in the short term and long. My hair looks more bad ass 3 days after a wash, and 3 months after a cut (free bang trims help!). I told her I spend almost no time styling my hair. As a result, I have a cut that works perfectly for me - and know what products to use when. I trust Rachel to push my look outside my too-often-conservative comfort zone and as a result, Im the most happy I have ever been with my hair. And shes fun. As a frame of reference: I used to go to one of the most expensive stylists in Austin, and have often spent way too much at trendy salons in NYC. Rachel puts them all to shame at a much more affordable price. Update: Rachel McDaniel is now at West End Salon.

You know what I love about going to a wonderful salon is finding the perfect hair artist/colorist... and thats what Monique at Topaz is all about. I can be in the most down blahs mood and come out of there all smiles, and laughing. Monique is an incredible hairdresser, very pro, great stylist and colorist and she seems to instinctively know what is just right for you.. whether you are young or old she has a gift that will leave you feeling like a STAR! Fabulous shampoo/massage, nice surroundings at Topaz, great staff there, and love their products. So if you want everyone telling you how great you look and WHO did your hair? ... go see Monique!!!

Riva is a FANTASTIC hair dresser!! I came into Riva with hair down to mid-back. Ive had long hair for me entire life and then finally decided to chop it all off. Riva was very helpful when figuring out the best style, made me a good deal on the highlights, and made my hair look better than ever. Her hair washes are relaxing and soothing, especially with a nice temple massage. This salon also has beer, soda, wine and coffee for FREE while you are getting your hair cut. I have since moved away from Austin and would drive the 3.5 hours to see her again. I still havent quite found anyone in Dallas that I like as much as Riva!

I am so excited b/c today I had the best haircut ever after years of trial and error of finding a good hairstylists and a hairstyle that worked for me. Jenny Lee did an excellent job listening to me and also had some good ideas to add to my style. The cut turned out so great and Jenny is really upbeat and fun to talk with. Normally going to the salon is like going to the dentist for me, but Jenny put me right at ease and did such a great job. I feel so good about how I look now and she did such a terrific job helping me build my confidence in how I look. Jenny is a diamond in the rough in the salon world.

Tomorrow will be my fifth consecutive mens haircut at Topaz. I usually set up my appointment for Sara and she has not let me down. I once got a haircut from another girl there and she also gave me a great cut so Im bummed I cant remember her name. I really like cut for the $$. Ive paid much more and been angry afterword. I was previously butchered by 3 other places including Birds so it was really nice to finally find "my" place in Austin for a good mens haircut.

PAUL IS AWESOME! He is so amazing at what he does! I am typically really picky on who I go to but Paul made me look absolutly gorgeous! He is a perfectionist and makes sure that everything is absolutly perfect and looks amazing! I am not one to refer if I am not happy and he has blown me out of the water with his skills! I reccomend him 100% you will not be dissapointed!

I love Aydrian! I now acquire hair cuts on a semi-regular basis. Those in the know can verify that this is not the standard operating procedure for myself. It can be difficult to find a hair stylist for a guy. She does a fantastic job and is quite affordable. Lastly, it should be noted that I always receive numerous compliments after visiting Aydrian, doubleplusgood.

Melody Douglas has been cutting my hair for over 5 years and I would follow her anywhere. She is an expert with my curly waves and that is hard to find. I get tons of complements every time I see her. If you have naturally curly hair you are in good hands. She is an expert with color too. I always look forward to my Mellow Do apt!

Rachael De Lee(?) cut my hair and I have to say it was probably the best cut I ever had. Im always nervous about seeing someone new but I am sooo glad I have someone to go to and feel comfortable with now. She really cuts to you and not herself... though she is helpful (not pushy) in telling you her opinion. Thanks Rachael!

Been going to Jamie Grove for a couple years now and I hope many more to come. Although I only receive a "mens haircut", the cuts are always spiffy, relaxing and the end product is just perfect. Im REALLY picky about side-burn evenness and she has never failed! I enjoy catching up and fun conversation. Its all good!

Selena Fisher is fantastic! She cuts my super curly hair as well as my three kids hair, and we are always thrilled with our results. She listens to what you want and does exactly what you ask, and if youre not sure about what you want, she is great at working with you to guide you to a style you are happy with.

Ive been going to Topaz for about 3 years now and Im in love with the place! All of the staff are helpful and friendly. My stylist, Ashley Babineux, is brilliant! She knows exactly how to manage my hair without me having to tell her a thing. Highly recommended!
