Never again. Consistent miscommunication or no communication at all. They didn’t meet any expected timelines. Plan on an extra day or two for anything they do. After several days, they said my rear differential needed replaced. I coordinated all the details in advance with them to have AAA move it to a specialty shop. I told them the exact time it would be picked up since I would be traveling by air at the time. They said that would be fine. I get a call after I land saying that they would not allow the tow truck to pick it up until I paid my bill (the bill they hadn’t yet sent me for an amount that later turned out to have overcharged me by more than $300). They didn’t mention any of this the previous day when I told them the exact plan and time the tow truck would be there. Because I missed my reserved appointment at the differential shop, it resulted in more than one week delay in getting my vehicle serviced by the time this all finally got resolved. I spoke with the manager who was only defensive and refused to be helpful at all. I informed the shop of the overcharge, and they sent me a corrected version that still had over $100 of overcharges. I reached out to the shop owner multiple times by phone and email, sending him a detailed letter of all my concerns with my shop experience. I offered to let him fix the issue before I left a public review online. Even after I pointed out the lack of communication, the overcharge, and the considerable inconvenience of them holding my vehicle hostage, part of his response included the following: "I see no need in me getting involved with such a senseless issue.” If overcharging your customers hundreds of dollars is considered a senseless issue, I am disappointed. They still didn’t correct the final bill until I insisted I wouldn’t pay until it was corrected. I paid the bill in less than 5 minutes after receiving the corrected one. Oh, and the rear differential that they wanted to replace for thousands of dollars, turned out NOT to need replacement. The differential shop had the entire issue fixed for less than $500. I wasted $900 at CARS. Don’t waste yours. Update in response to the owner: For the record, I did contact you multiple times by phone and email. You refused to return my calls. You appear to be the one lacking credibility.

I tend to shy away from writing bad reviews but this place got under my skin. I would like to inform anyone who may be visiting CARS for mechanical services. My car had started a rough idle and needed to have the codes ran with a tool that is more capable than an auto parts store would carry. So upon my arrival I was greeted by a woman at the front counter. This is when it all got interesting, she tried very hard to make what I was asking for "a simple scan" to fit one of the paid services such as "diagnostic check over". But after repeatedly telling her that all I was wanting was a scan she finally agreed. So I pulled my car around back into the bay and asked to oversee the scan so I could gather more information and make sure that my vehicle would be taken care of properly. The tech then made up some story and asked me to ask the clerk for permission. The clerk "front desk lady" then told me she would go out there with me as they did it. Then she disappeared for quite some time. After waiting for 15 minutes in the lobby I just walked back into the shop. Just as I had suspected the were preforming the scan and the clerk was standing next to them smoking a cigarette (talk about a nice shop). I then walked up ignoring her and spoke with the tech. He showed me the codes which indicated I have a misfire in cylinders 2,3,4. He then went on a sales attempt to sell me the "diagnostic check over". I told him that I was only interested in the free scan that they advertise and was responded to with "its not that expensive only $110 for a domestic diagnostic". My car is not a domestic car so that was funny. After that I told them to take the scanner off of my car (sitting on the paint-bare metal). After that the tech then told me he needed to go inside and figure out what I owe them for the scan. At this point I was trying hard to stay cool and not flip a lid. Once he went inside (after grabbing the clipboard off of another customers car-on the paint) I then left. Moral of the story- classic mechanics trying to scam customers into services they do not need. Take my experience for what you will.

I really wanted to like CARS; I heard great things, but my experience didnt match what my expectations were. I had my oil changed Saturday, March 5th; I was the only person in the waiting room that morning and it took about 1.5 hours. When I got on 45 to head home I noticed my hood bouncing, I pulled over and they hadnt latched my hood! This past Sunday (4/10) I opened my hood and CARS had left the oil funnel in my car! My oil cap was missing as well as the dipstick and the dipstick tube was damaged. I took my car in this morning (4/11) at 8:20AM and showed them the problem. They apologized, said they would give me an oil change, replace the cap, dipstick and dipstick tube and replace my hood struts as a way to earn me back as a customer. They quoted that it would take right at about an hour to complete; depending on whether or not they could find the dipstick tube locally. They did find the dipstick tube locally at Demontrond and it arrived around 9:15AM. I didnt get out of CARS until 11:40 AM; over 3 hours later! I stopped on my way out to get some gas and noticed a loose bolt under my windshield wipers; I called back to CARS and they told me to come back so they could look at it to make sure it wasnt associated with my vehicle. Thankfully it wasnt, it belonged to a Cadillac that was being worked on beside me. I appreciated they were trying to wrong their right, but I didnt appreciate the way their manager Andy spoke to me when I asked for an estimated time of when my car would be ready. He told me that I was getting ALL this for free so it would just be a few more minutes. Overall, that was my experience getting a standard oil change at CARS. Some people have a great experience, I did not!
