I hate writing reviews but I wanted to let everyone who is currently driving to Dallas for a decent cut and color that they NO LONGER have to. Meghan is a wonderful hair stylist. She is completely professional and great with color. She knew exactly what I wanted even though I didnt know how to communicate what I wanted. My cut and color looks great and I am OFTEN complimented on it. I am glad that I can FINALLY refer my friends to a LOCAL stylist. However Tangerines best kept secret is their nail tech Michelle. She is able to do a gel manicure and speaks perfect English. A gel manicure is the best thing for your nails. I used to have acrylic nails however my acrylic nails made it hard to use my touch screen phone. I love the look of my natural nails but hate how the polish chips in a couple of days. I now have the PERFECT solution. My gel manicure is as thin as nail polish however keeps my nails strong. Not only does my nail polish last for, as embarrassed as I am to admit it, 4 weeks my nails also never break and remain shiny. I love the gel manicure and Michelle. The only compliant I have is the front desk staff with the exception of Sue. Sue is the only front desk staff that takes time to listen to what I need and helps. She is always accommodating with trying to find appointments times to fit my schedule. She is also the ONLY front desk staff member who actually gives my messages to Michelle and/or Meghan. I dont know how Tangerine hires for the front desk but young teenage bubble gum chomping drama queens who say like and who not only appear but come across confused is NOT the way to go. I am often rushed off the phone or given bad information and when I am in the salon the young gals up there are rude by having multiple conversations about last night while trying to check me out. Forget trying to schedule your next appointment because they look at you rudely for interrupting them. Its at the point where I no longer will even schedule an appointment when I leave UNLESS Sue is attending to me. She is the ONLY professional person up there and she should be the one to train ANY existing or new front desk hires.

This isnt my first visit, I had been once before, maybe a couple years ago? I had a great experience then with Adrian. But, I went back on a recommendation from a co-worker. I just needed a trim and to re-fresh my layers in my long hair. I made an appt. online to get my haircut by Blue, a master stylist. I was so excited. I met the stylist and we spoke of what I needed done. But, once the process started, it just felt awkward the whole time. The free mini-facial was appreciated, but it was hot rags on my face for a few minutes. Then, it got to the point I almost took them off myself, not sure what to do? But, I tried to keep it all light-hearted, asking the stylist questions about himself. But, I recd quick answers and then it was quiet again. So, once he started talking, he went on to tell me how he isnt gay and may actually be a homo-phobe. Im not offended easily, but that could be very offensive to someone else. But, I just kept quiet, waiting for him to finish. At the end, he asked how I would like it styled. I told him however his professional opinion is fine, I am easy going. I dont usually style my hair, anyway. There was a pause, as if he was still waiting for me? So, I just smiled and waited. He blow dried it straight. Okay, it looked nice. Like I straightened it with an iron at home. But, nice. So, at the end, he walked me out towards the front desk. I told him it was nice to meet him, he smiled and turned around. Okay, whatever, its all good. The front desk was busy, no eye contact made. But, I saw they were busy. Okay, no problem. The receptionist told me it will be $65. What?! For a trim only and a style I could do for free at home? I mean, that is a little expensive. I paid it, of course; I received the services. But, I dont think Ill return here. Thats too expensive for me for just a plain trim. Plus, the weird vibe and conversation? No thank you. It was an experience, but Ill pass on next time.

After 2 years of dying my hair from a bottle, I made an appointment at Tangerine Salon after many of my friends raved about their services and color specialists. Well, let me just say that I will NEVER color my hair from a box again. Not that I have a ton of money to throw at my hair, but the service I received from Blue today was beyond amazing! He was very patient with me while I made my mind up on what color I wanted, gave me guidance, and then the task of stripping the RED out of my hair began. I dont envy that task, and because of that, I will never put another stylist through that again. I learned a lot by listening to him consult with another person that worked there about the best way to go about coloring my hair as far as tones and pigments to help overcome the color imbalance as well as the new growth. I have been in other salons in years past where each stylist was their own island and it wasnt unusual for them to bad mouth each other to their clients. This was NOT the case at Tangerine. They definitely take pride in their work to ensure that they are getting the best result, and helping each other out along the way. Though my original visit to this salon in February was less than stellar, I have to give mad props to Brandon Hensley for how he responded, as well as Blue for being an absolute doll. I will definitely be back again for touch ups and highlights.

Nails and massages, oh my! I come here purely to see Sandy and PaShun. Absolutely love them. I have been coming here now for a few years after moving to the Lewisville area and searching high and low for a nail tech that wouldnt scrub away my calluses with the cheese graters. I dance therefore like when I can talk to a nail tech and say, "hey, no need to remove all those calluses". Other nail salons even after I asked them not to still did. Sandy keeps my nails nice and natural like I like them but Ive also seen a lot of her other work which is outstanding. Shes very meticulous when putting on any color the few times I have and ensures that it looks nice and clean, unlike past nail salons who didnt care if they got paint on your skin or anywhere else for that matter. As for PaShun, I probably started seeing her maybe one year ago. I hadnt had a massage in a long time so I was skeptical but I was sore from doing Crossfit at the time. That woman has magic hands and arms and is an absolutely delightful individual. So now I have a good excuse to come to this establishment again for wonderful massages. I cannot preach enough about these two and encourage you to check them out for your spa needs! Please note I have not been here for hair styling needs as I do get that done elsewhere.
