I specifically created this account to comment on Dr. Nerds. I highly recommend Dr. Nerds as THE place to take your computer to be repaired. I had accidently broken a pin off my motherboard while reseating after experiencing heating issues with the processor and took my computer to them to let the professionals handle it before I broke something else. They were fast and reliable and the service was at a very reasonable price. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable (they recommended a new motherboard that was slightly better than the one I had at the same price) and very willing to answer any questions you had. I dealt with Alex who even spotted a seating problem with my heat sink that I had not recognized and now my computer is running faster and my processor has never been colder, I now have my 2600k from 3.4 to 4.5 running at 35 C at Idle on air cooling! (I could OC more but even now it is at excess) The cleaned my case and organized my wires professionally and I have great airflow and now able to OC my two air cards without heating issues. Someone commented earlier about their component selection. Granted they do not have high end gaming components in store (this would not be logically in C.C. as there isnt a market here for that) but they have better selection than BB and better prices than Altex, and what they dont have they will make recommendations and order the parts for you / let you order and they will install. I read the comment earlier about the staff not taking their job seriously, this is totally untrue. It is a fact that they are not stuffed shirts with blank faces and stoic personalities, but who really wants that? The staff actually answers the phone (unlike other places in C.C) and let you talk with the assigned staff member assigned to your computer if you have questions. I know for a fact that even though their store closes at 6pm, they often stay later working to make sure that the computers are ready as soon as possible. I cant go on enough about this place and they take care of all your computer needs, this is the place for the average joe with a Compaq or the high end gamer with a custom rig who needs a little help from time to time :)

Unless you dont care about how much you spend then come to this place. Although if you want the best price in town do not come here. DO NOT come here they overcharge. They will talk to you in a rude way including the manager, I only liked 3 of the workers there. ONLY 3 of them seemed to understand that what they were doing was wrong. I never write reviews but I believed this one was necessary so no one ever gets over charged like this again. They charge you for every little thing. They charge $70 for a diagnostic and I recently found a place that does a diagnostic for free. They charge for a backup as well. Oh and lets just say they screw you over and you try and return it within their ridiculous 7 days return/refund policy... or better yet like I did the same day they will refuse or offer a partial refund. But here is the catch like in my case I paid $150 not including tax upfront for a part my laptop "needed" that ended up being completely useless for me and I explained and told them I want a refund they said they can only give me $20. I would write the entire story but it is just too much to write. I would say get a diagnostic from somewhere else so you can weigh out your options. In my case, I would have been better off to go somewhere else and get a backup free of charge and get a new laptop than pay roughly in total about $245 on my laptop since they did not tell me the first time around what was wrong with my laptop when I explained to them what had happened prior to the port messing up. In the end I payed for my laptop to get fixed because I needed it for work and here is the kicker about 2 1/2 weeks later my charger port was sparking even though they replaced it with a new charger port. Mind you I am not rough with my laptop, it sits on my desktop when I use it most of the time.

First review Ive ever written. Dr. Nerd is the absolute worst service Ive ever had with ANY company in my life. I asked them to clean up my Mac and paid for a rush job. They guaranteed that it would be ready by the next morning. Four days later, I received my computer. All of my passwords had been erased, as well as some of my programs. I took it back and told them the issue. They then restored it to its original condition, told me that nothing could be done and even said that the computer was in the same exact state it was in when I dropped it off. They erased a lot of files (invaluable pictures of my family and vacations). When I called to try to locate these files, I was given horrible attitude and told me that I erased them myself. They used to have nothing but horrible reviews like this one on Google, but it looks like they just got a bunch of their friends to replace them with good reviews. Worst business EVER.

To quickly tell you about myself, I recently moved back from Los Angeles, where I provided level 3 computer support for a large financial company and directly supported senior executives. Anyway, I went to Dr Nerd Computers twice, just to check it out. Both times I was there, the staff spoke to me like was an idiot (even though I have been in working the field for the past nine years) and they seemed lacking in basic computer knowledge and their inventory. Also, on both of my visits, I saw/heard the people in the back "cutting up" and acting like fools. I might go back to them for parts but I would never never recommend anyone go there for service. The services they offer are very basic and they dont seem to take it very seriously.

Dr. Nerds is NOT the place to have fix your phone. They took money from my daughter to fix the screen and she got the phone back not working. Told her it was battery, so got a new battery. Still not working. Took it back and said main board, but since we had it, now they say its not their fault. Has not worked since we picked it up the first time. Owner wont call me back after my in store visit with counter person. This place is a rip off. Charged us more than quoted and still didnt fix phone. Writing the BBB and totally making the Internet work for us. All they had to do was refund us our money. Refused! They suck! Dont let them screw up your stuff!

Absolute worst computer repair that Corpus Christi has to offer. Bought a PC from them, took it in to have it looked at after it began to randomly shut off. Turned out the power supply theyd installed was bad, so they replaced it... for 80 dollars. Even though it was THEIR error, I was still forced to pay out of pocket for the service. It gets worse. Not that Ive got my PC back, it constantly blue screens and shuts off randomly for reasons that they say cannot be determined. I took it in, they said theyd look at it for another 80 dollars. Incompetent kids working there, the owner is a thieving slob. Dont bring your PC here.
