I took my Toshiba laptop to Ace for service, basically to reload Vista (Satans operating system apparently). Computer techs there were friendly and savvy and after a 2 day turnaround time, I got a call saying my hard drive was toast. I was offered a new 250G hard drive for $99, or a 500G one for $199. (this is my only beef, but I realize its a business and must have a profit margin to stay open). My HD was actually toast, unlike the previous review. I ended up ordering a 250G HD on amazon for a whopping $42, which was cheerfully accepted by the Ace techs (they had no problem installing something I totally got for less than half the price). They installed the HD, reloaded Vista, installed a TON of service pack/updates/adobe/flash, all the annoying stuff that Id take hours to do. To top it off they cleaned the computer, fan, and tweaked my DVD drive that was somehow rubbing the top of the DVDs off. Turnaround time once I dropped my new hard drive off was 2 days. Fast service, and the price was quite reasonable, (Price for Vista reload is around ~$95, which included hard drive install/cleaning), they even offer a military discount on top of that. For a guy whos only moderately software savvy, Id give them my business in the future for such computer disasters.

They took in my iMac and ruined it. They SAID they were qualified, but clearly were not when after two weeks and running several texts, they said we cant find anything wrong (except when I brought it in it had designs on the screen, but whatever). One test, they explained to me, made the mac so hot they couldnt touch it. That gave me some pause because that doesnt even make sense to run a test to try to ruin a machine with heat or force components to fail by OVERHEATING THEM. (wtf?) I picked it up, took it to another place that told me components on the inside had MELTED due to, you guessed it, overheating. I complained to ACE but was told the machine was fine (!) when it left their shop, even though they could never figure out the problem. After I explained about the other repair place and what they found, I asked for my fee back. ACE ignored me and Im stuck with a busted computer that ACE had the gall to ask for back, so they could try to fix it. I assume a hammer or blowtorch would be there tools. I wouldnt take a busted flip phone there.

I own a 2012 Macbook Pro and decided to upgrade the memory recently and chose Ace Computers. To start, I am not a Corpus Christi native, so did not have any prior knowledge of Ace Computers; only what I had gathered from online reviews. I decided to give this local shop a chance. It was the best decision. The staff was super professional and the charge for the memory upgrade was totally reasonable (I had called other places and had gotten quotes). They use premium components and are complete experts. My experience overall with Ace Computers was terrific. The owner Daryl Vernon was very courteous and professional along with the gentleman who specifically worked on my Macbook. Thank you Daryl, your shop is a gem in the Coastal Bend. I will definitely be going back for any other computer needs and will be referring my colleagues to come here as well instead of traveling to San Antonio or the Rio Grande Valley. Im IT admin for Houston based company with sites throughout TX & LA. Contacted Ace on Wednesday to inquire about services. Daryl was more than happy to be tech savvy hands on person at local site. Scheduled appt at 9:00am Thursday and the next morning my phone rang at 8:58am. Ace tech on site inquiring what I wanted done. I explained I need router removed from rack, then give to local office contact to send to me so I could return to vendor. He offered to package and ship directly to vendor which I couldnt pass up. Im sure my local coworker didnt mind not having to deal with it. He even called me later from office to inquire if any paperwork should be included, which it should have and I sent to him at that time. Ill definitely be contacting them again for future service when possible. So much better than my last local tech experience, just thinking of that makes me go AaaaaaaaEeeeee!

Been using Ace computer service for years fist time was when the upgraded my 4gb hardrive on my laptop to a 20gb!!! Yep been going there for a long long time. Even when I was in Iraq from 05 to 08 I sent my laptop from over there to Ace and they took care of everything. The latest is my wifes Toshiba speakers kept getting turned off and for some reason it would go into Airplane mode and it became useless. Whats the saying Happy wife Happy life.. Well took it there dropped it off and a few days latter is was ready togo. Most likely it was done the next day but we live a good 45 miles and we have to optimize our trips. The did all the updates and cleaned out all the junk wife says its working Great. One dose not find this type of service very often and when you due your lucky to find a business that wont patch something they Fix it!!!

I have used Ace computer since the first time I ever purchased a computer back in 2001 and back then they were the only computer repair place in town that I knew of. they came right over and serviced my computer. I have used Ace computer now for 15 years and every time I call them they come right over. they are cordial, nice, kind and very smart. I think everybody should use Ace computer in corpus Christi because they are the best!

Staff was friendly...but They are overpriced. Had to have my laptops operating system reinstalled. Charged 140$ for the reinstallation, a diagnostics run, and a dusting. It also took them 6 days for the work to be completed. **Call around before committing to this place**
