This post office is the absolute worst. They do not answer the phone so I have to continue wasting my time to physically go up there. I have lived at the same address for years and have not had any issues until recently. I requested *one* of my packages to be held at the PO. According to my tracking info, it was scanned into the facility and ready for pick up. I go to pick it up and the lady at the window is super rude. She told me it was with the carrier, not there and to come back the next day. I returned the following Monday figuring it had been plenty of time for them to locate it and have it ready. They STILL cant find my package and the guy took my info down and assured me he would call me back with an updated status later that day. I never received a call back. I go BACK up there the next day and thats when they officially told me it was lost. I requested a replacement from the company I ordered from and that was a whole other hassle in itself. Since I asked for that one package to be held, theyve taken the liberty to hold another package of mine.... and all of a sudden cannot deliver even my regular mail because of "no access". Nothing has changed so I dont understand why they have issues delivering now! Customer service is a joke and no one can tell me what is going on! Two of my packages say they were unable to be delivered because of the no access thing and the third says it was delivered but it is nowhere to be found!!! And how could they "deliver" that one but not be able to access the building for the others?!?!? Im so fed up I cant even muster up the strength to continue to be courteous to anyone if there. Did I also mention that for some reason I havent been getting my regular mails either? Not even ads.... nothing!!! And Im waiting for my license to come in for work!!

I never gave the ancient institution of the USPS much thought until I had to deal with this place as my primary post office. This is the worst, mismanaged, under-employed, incompetent facility Ive ever encountered, and Im ashamed that my tax dollars help pay for it. They say they are open between 8 and 6 but try calling during those hours and see if youll ever get through. When a package goes missing, nobody seems to care. I raced to the post office after work and was physically in the building at 5:58 and was told that the customer before me was last until I demanded help. My personal mailperson employed by this post office is extremely lazy and will not even make an attempt to deliver at my door when I am home and prefers to slip a little note in my mailbox instead so I can pick it up or arrange for a "redelivery." Ive had to chase him down to get packages that are on his truck after hes left me a little note while Ive been at home. The entire place seems rampant with people who have a poor work ethic, who generally dont care about doing their jobs with any whisper of pride, and who generally dislike dealing with the public. I bet they feel that the, I suppose, numerous negative encounters they have with the public daily are through no fault of their own so they choose to ignore people when they call. I, too, work with the public; however, if I dont feel like doing my job some days, people could die or get seriously injured. Its difficult to understand what is so challenging about delivering a package. I am considering sending a letter to the postmaster and possibly my local congressman. Most likely, nothing will change, but perhaps if a few are sent, it could make a difference.

I would give this place NO STARS if I could. I almost asked for the manager or the complaint phone number, but I was already insulted once and I didnt want to be as ignorant as the people that work at the OAK LAWN POST OFFICE. First, I was waiting in the pick up package line which had 2 people in line in front on me, the little old man working at the pick up package must be about 86 or more and I dont normally discriminate against age but HE IS SO SLOW. Being slow is not always a bad thing and he could have made up for his slowness by being nice. THIS OLD MAN was so rude to me, after waiting 30 min for him to find someone elses package, he couldnt find it. He started "helping" me, found my package, it was a letter, asked if I had 22 cents even. I said no. He then held my package and started talking to the person before me while holding my package, he didnt say hold on just a minute, or ANYTHING. I said can I have my letter so I can go get in the other line and pay for it. He did not like that he turned to me and said for me to WAIT until he IS FINISHED TALKING TO THE OTHER LADY because SHE WAS THERE BEFORE ME. actually, we were there the same amount of time, I was just behind her in line. RUDE, just RUDE! And in front of other customers. You just dont do that. He needs to learn to be more efficient if you see 3 customers in line take all 3 of there tickets and try to find all 3 packages. DUH. WHERE IS THE MANAGER? come on OAK LAWN, I expected more from this place. I do not recommend unless you want to get yelled at. It is 10 am, it is to early for a rude personality.

I wish I could leave negative stars because 1 star is more credit than this location deserves. I waited in line for 50 minutes along with over 20 other people while there was only 1 employee working the counter. At first I felt bad for the woman working alone with no assistance from any of the other employees I heard yelling, laughing and joking around in the back probably "hard at work" but after finally getting to the counter and being screamed at by this woman I soon understood my sympathy was undeserving. I asked a simple question and the woman refused to answer me. She started to raise her voice, waved her enormous hand up to my face and told me to get out of the line I had just waited in for almost an hour. I felt extremely unsafe and thought at any moment this woman was capable of becoming physical. Stay away at all cost if you value not only your dignity but your safety. She at a minimum needs anger management but should probably be fired. Her name is Chinita George.

Ugh. Put 6 packages in the blue maildrop outside for customers totaling about $500 in product. (The blue drop outside which any Joe cannot just stick their hand in, you need keys to get in) Items never were scanned, never arrived, & all had insurance, which paying extra for insurance is a JOKE. Never saw insurance reimbursements, waited for hours being transferred to "customer service" reps who all told me the same thing "We see what you see on the computer". I told them if there are packages that have not been scanned that were inside the blue drop then it is very obvious they were STOLEN and should be looked into!!! Felt like I was talking to a brick wall with responses like, okay, we will look into this and call you back. Shocking, never heard from anyone, had to refund ALL of my customers and took a huge loss on this horrible office.
