This has been my wife and Is getaway spot for the last three years, and it will be our first since weve been married. As others have said, it is truly a place to get away... no kids, no pets, no TV, no landline... no problem. Each cabin has its own theme and is wonderfully decorated. We returned to the Spring cabin last year and were delighted to see that a couple of the photos we sent to the owners were put on the wall. Let me explain. There is a big stuffed animal fish (bass) thats part of the fishing theme of the Spring cabin. We (and others) have put him in very funny poses. Anyway, John and Karen have thought of EVERYTHING as far as what youll need while your there. If not, they can probably get it. Once you check in, you are pretty much left alone to relax and recharge until its time to leave (which you WONT want to do). Getting away from the grinds of life for a couple of days during the holidays is always something we look forward to every year. You will love this place and will want to return again, guaranteed!

Great place for a quiet getaway, especially if you live in the DFW area. The owners are friendly and live on site. While there are only 4 cabins and booking can be tight, you cant see the other cabins from each other. Each cabin features a hot tub that is emptied and clean between each guest. The cabins are clean and each offer a kitchenette of varying degrees (see the description of each online). 3 out of the 4 cabins offer some level of access to the Paluxy River and the 4th offers more privacy. Spent two nights of my honeymoon there and definitely plan to return in the future. Some notes though: there is no WiFi or TV as that misses the point of a cabin. Also, our shower stall was smaller than what I would call usual and the chairs provided on the porch were not comfortable for me. None of this is a deal breaker for me, but you might want to pack some more comfortable folding chairs to enjoy sitting out on the porch. Last no pets or kids under 21 - this keeps the cabins clean and the experience quiet.

This place is way better than what you see and read online. Carmen and I have found a new home away from home. Just returned today from spending a few days there to get away from it all and unwind. We feel refreshed and ready to go until our next time we book. It will be soon for us to go back to our new little hiding place. Amazing, Wonderful, Spectacular, Perfect, there are just not enough words to describe our experience at the Paluxy River Bed Cabins. We stayed at the Taos House and could not have asked for better accommodations. The view and the privacy alone were enough to guarantee that my wife and I will be returning very soon. John and Karen went above and beyond to make certain that our stay was everything we could have hoped for.

My girlfriends and I had my bachelorette party here. The Cedar cabin was perfect for us and we had such a great time. The hot tub was perfect on a night with a distant thunderstorm to enjoy. We saw a raccoon and an armadillo! John and Karen are very accommodating and sure knew what they were doing when they designed these cabins! Theyre the perfect retreat!

Cynda and I have spent three visits here. Our honeymoon was our first visit. We have spent two Christmas at the cabins. You will love the cabins and the peace and quite but the hot tub will be the best. We cant say enough about how wonderful your stay will be here. An amazing place for a retreat into privacy and the nature of North Central Texas! Cabins are themed, appropriately decorated, and fully supplied. Just bring your own food and be prepared to enjoy no one under 21, no pets, and relative silence! Heaven, or at least a piece of such!
