Honestly I dont know how this place has high reviews. Today I went here for the first time. I made an appointment for 10am the day prior and I specifically asked them if they could do the style that I prefer. They said they could do it and my appointment was set. I got there on time and asked for the stylist and she wasnt there yet. 10-15 later she arrives. I get to her styling booth and show her a picture of the style I want and she automatically tells me she cant do it. Then some of her other clients arrive and she starts on them first. My plan changed because she could not do the style that I wanted so I settled for a shampoo and flatiron style. After waiting to be next I get my hair shampooed and sit under the dryer for a while. Finally she starts to style my hair and I ask for a feathered style and she says my hair is too long then she asks to curl it and I say thats fine. Even while Im getting my hair done there is another customer having her hair done and is freaking out about something that went wrong. Then the stylist starts telling me that the next time I come she will do the style she Googled for long hair. My hair isnt extremely long mind you. I will NOT go back for another visit. After shes all done with that I pay her and ask for my change money. She has to go next door to get change and she gives me all one dollar bills. I counted it to make sure it was right and I was short. It was good I counted it before I left because she had to give me what I was short. That put the cherry on top. Ladies if you work hard for your money dont come here and waste it. Just dont do it. I can not say I am happy with my hair. The curls have already fallen out. I wanted to look good and feel good for a special occasion for the holidays but it did not go as planned. I am from Memphis and I am picky about my hair. Sorry if this offends anyone but people in Texas cant do hair. Please prove me wrong if you can do better!

4WKS LATER 6/18.... I HAVE TO RETRACT MOST OF ORIGINAL REVIEW. BALD IN 3 PLACES, (AT MY EDGES OF ALL PLACES) DUE TO BRAIDS BEING EXTREMELY TO TIGHT....IS SO NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!!! IVE LOST 3 BRAIDS. WHEN I SAY LOST, I MEAN PULLED OUT FROM THE SCALP. THE 1ST WAS JUST DAYS AFTER, I SENT MS VALERIE A PHOTO & ASKED HOW IT WOULD BE RESOLVED. SHE OFFERED TO REATTACH WHEN I CLARIFIED WITH HER OUTS FROM MY ROOT GUESS WHAT HER RESPONSE WAS "DONT PULL IN PONYTAIL TOO TIGHT" WHAT!!!! IT WAS PLACE IN A HALF BUN WHEN I LEFT THE SALON. I HAVE BEEN BRAIDING & CARING FOR BRAIDS FOR 1/4 OF A CENTURY, I WANT WHAT GELS, SPRAYS, ETC NOT TO USE AS WELL AS HOW/WHEN TO START STYLING! THE 2ND BRAID PULLED OUT AS I WAS RUNNING MY FINGERS THROUGH IT TO MOVER IT OUT OF MY FACE AS I ATE. NOT 10MIN SO DID THE 3RD PULL OUT. I IMMEDIATELY TEXT MS VALERIE WHO NOW HAS THE 1ST PHOTO AND NOW THE KNOWLEDGE OF A 3RD CREATING BALD PATCHES ALONG MY EDGES. IM HOPING MS VALERIE IS WHO I THOUGHT SHE WAS, A PERSON OF INTEGRITY WHO TAKES PRIDE IN HER WORK AND CLIENTELE, AND RECTIFY THIS SITUATION. IF SHE IS ILL RECEIVE A TEXT OR CALL WITH A PROPER OFFER TO RECTIFY MY HAIR LOSS......LOVE MY HAIR, MS VALERIE AND HER STAFF ARE AMAZING AND GENUINELY LOVE WHAT THEY DO. WISH I HAD A B4 AN AFTER. THANK YOU MS VALERIE AND STAFF MY BIRTHDAY HAIR IS AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL. IVE BEEN IN DFW FOR 2 YEARS HADNT FOUND A PERMANENT STYLIST. The very best in braiding. I have been to a few others. The braids are not too tight but very firm. If you Follow their directions for taking care of your hair it will last, my last one was 4 months and the braids were still firm even with my new hair growth. This is Important when you have a busy work and lifestyle, your hair will always look great. Everyone in this shop is extremely skilled. The charge is worth every dime. All I can say is judge by the quality of the work, not the cost. You absolutely will know the value of this service, once you have it done, you will never go anywhere else. One more thing, dont try and save money by taking out the braids yourself. They have to be combed and taken out carefully before washing or your hair will mat up, that is a lesson you dont want to learn. I know Val and Nina, they are professionals and I am delighted to write this review. They are the also the best at styling. I love this place.

I literally called this place on my way home from another hair salon that failed me on a Saturday morning & tried to make me wait an additional 2 hours for an appointment that the owner had set for me with a stylist. I spoke with Valerie at Beauty Concepts & she was very understanding & determined to get me in right away. I arrived & a stylist (Gail) was assigned to me immediately & she got to work no sooner than I sat down. The atmosphere was comfortable, warm & welcoming like a home but still really professional & orderly. There were lots of stylists but they werent yapping a whole bunch like at typical salons & I liked that. The price was reasonable & they accommodated my needs from phone to in person. Thanks for the great service, Ive been getting so many compliments!!

This is the worst hair salon for sew-ins ever. They told me multiple times that if I dyed the weave on my freshly relaxed hair hair. Well, they were completely wrong and all my hair on the sides and middle of my head fell out and has not grown back in over a year. They are also very unprofessional and charge an arm and a leg. If you value the health of your real hair and wallets, you dont wanna go there...EVER. I Wish I Could Have Given Zero Stars. But the owner, is nice but she dont really know how to style Sew-ins.

Im not on here brow beat anyone. But I simply here to say that my experience was not very good. I honestly am really disappointed with the quality of work that was done. I went back the very next day to have my hair fixed. And so I have decided to chalk it up and go to another salon to get my hair completely re-done to my liking. Really not sure why the ratings are so high because there is no real quality coming of this salon. The reason that I gave two stars was because its nice looking when you enter. Thats it!

Valerie saved the day by being open on January 1 and able to take me as a walk-in. She did an awesome job on my crochet braids. The cornrows themselves were very flat and neat and the crochet style was full and nice. She is also very accommodating I am super tender-headed and have delicate edges. Valerie is easy to talk to. It has been very difficult for me to find a good braider, but my search is over thanks to Valerie at Beauty Concepts Salon!
