The short version is long waits, over priced and immoral business practices. I have been living in the area for 12 years and have tried several different businesses. Dunbars Automotive off Rancier is a long time favorite of mine. Sure the shop isnt anything to look at and the employees dont have pretty uniforms, but they are honest and have very reasonable prices. There was a repair that the mechanic at Dunbars had guess wrong twice and repaired it on the third try. Since I had to pay for parts and labor on all three repairs, I became disgruntled and looked for a different repair shop. So I tried the Firestone in Harker Heights. I found that every time I went, there were recommendations for expensive repairs even when I went for just an oil change. I handed over about $4000 before issues with what felt like a front end alignment issue. When I brought it in, they said it needed $1600 of work to fix the issue. I couldnt afford it and told them I would bring it else where. Three of the employees then gathered in a huddle and spoke in hushed tones. Since I had purchased the lifetime alignments program, they did the alignment for what ended up being free and the problem was fixed. At first I was happy that I had avoided such a hefty repair bill, but as I had thought about what had transpired, I realized that they had lied to try and get me to purchase a repair that I didnt need. The other repairs that I had been duped into probably werent needed either. It is these predatory practices aimed at customers that dont know any better that guarantees that I will never go to that Firestone again and I recommend that anyone considering it look to a more honest shop like Dunbars or Running Right Auto Care (right down the expressway from Firestone).

I wish I could give this business zero stars. I took my vehicle in to get a second opinion on some work I had done at another shop. They fixed that problem by telling me what was wrong. It all goes downhill from there. Lie #1: They said that my tires were half-way thru their tread, I measured them before I went their, they were at 7/32, they said they were at 5/32. Lie# 2: Kristin assured me that I would have my car back by 300 pm (I dropped my car off at 800 am) to pick up my daughter from school, I got my car back at 524 pm, lucky for me, my wife was returning from her out of town trip so she was able to scoop her up. Lie#3: Kristin said she would call me when it was done. Actually, I called her at 245 pm wondering what the problem was, only then was I informed that they were waiting on a part to arrive. Lie #4: Kristin also tried to tell me that I needed my 60,000 mile service performed, it was already done earlier, this tells me that they check the mileage and not the fluid color. When I arrived at the establishment to pick up my vehicle, I noticed that 6 technicians were standing around doing nothing, while me and another gentleman was waiting to be helped. Kristin was talking to some guy in a blue shirt and was more focused on that than customer service. I asked them since my car was delivered late, and I was not informed about anything, what could they do to solve the problem. Kristin said "we gave you a free oil change" This place charges $143.82 for labor, I see why, because they have to stand around and do nothing, all while customers are waiting for their vehicles to be fixed. I would not go to this establishment for anything, unless you want to pay for services that dont need to be performed.

First off let me say I am not quick to give a negative review on any business, and note that I have quite a few years in the auto service field myself (both as a tech and service writer). I ordered 4 new tires for my wifes Mercedes (19" wheels) online and had planned to install them myself. When she experienced a tire blowout and needed them replaced while I was at work, I crossed my fingers and sent her to this Firestone location. $110 wasnt a terribe price for 4 tires mounted and balanced, what was terrible was that my wife calls me in a panic saying theyre telling her that the alignment is out and isnt safe. Spoiler alert; it was already checked, it was PERFECT. Thanks for giving all auto shops a bad name by being the cliche service writer seeing a pregnant lady as a target for ripping off and not a customer to help. Even their alignment printout showed no obvious signs of needing work. This is all typical stuff unfortunately, but what really heated me up was that the tire installation lube they used was so excessive it was coated all over the wheels and even slung into the freshly detailed car. I had to wash the wheels to see that the front left wheel had a bad gouge all the way around the face from the arm on the installation machine being improperly mounted. Only reason I didnt follow up with this is the wheels are to be powdercoated soon anyways. Overall two wheels had scratches. Pretty unhappy. My wife had to wait 5 hours for this. I would suggest finding a local shop, or doing your homework first. Ye be warned.

i was having battery issues & came to Firestone in Harker Heights on 12/9/16 & got my battery fixed, on 12/11/16 i was leaving work (in belton) & my car would not start. i was confused because i had just got a new battery on the 9th. well long story short whoever worked on my car on the 9th did not put my battery in correctly. the bolts werent tightened enough so therefore because loose & i had to touch the bolts to each other in order to get my car to even start (scared on my whole way from belton to heights my car could die & turn off at any moment). so i go in on the 11th & they attempt to "fix" it, they insure me my car good & i were to have no more issues. so this morning 1/4/17, not even a month after getting a completely new battery, my car does not turn on. so again the last thing on my mind is the battery since i got one not even a month ago. so im i call & let them know whats going on the manager Zach i spoke to was very understanding & was ready to fix the issue, but unfortunately i feel like i dont need to go somewhere to get my car fixed 3 times, it should be done the first time the correct way. theyve lost my business & i will not be going back there. just unorganized & to ready to get the job done even if its the incorrect way.

I wouldnt take my sick dog to this place if it were full of vets! As for car repairs, can we say "bait and switch!" I called and got a price quote for some repair work to be done to my car. I was told a reasonable price for the work and decided to let them do the repairs. When I picked my car up, I still heard sounds coming from the rear of the vehicle. I took it back to the shop and was told that they had only fixed the front part of my car, that the back part (Im talking brakes and hubs) didnt even have hubs, so it wasnt touched. Well, after leaving my car overnight to get looked at the next day, I got a phone call telling me that the back end of my car needed the "hubs" fixed (which I was told the day before that the vehicle didnt even have!) and it would cost me almost twice what I had paid for the front to be fixed, which when I paid that I thought I was paying to have everything fixed! THIS PLACE IS A MAJOR RIP OFF AND I WILL NEVER EVER TAKE ANYTHING THERE AGAIN, AND I SUGGEST IF YOU WANT TO BE TREATED FAIRLY, TAKE YOUR CAR SOMEWHERE ELSE!
