Total rip off. It is actually quite funny. I am an engineer, and know a bit about the compression cycle. I tell him that the AC is not working, and without hooking up a gauge to see the high or low side pressure he says we need to flush the system and it would be $89. His reason was somewhat valid since the AC compressor clutch was engaging/disengaging repeatably. After some convincing him, He would only hook up the high side gauge, which read 400psi. Normal should be 250psi or so. He said "yep the compressor is bad" Now lets think about this. A compressor is suppose to compress gas from a low pressure to a higher pressure. If the discharge pressure is high, then the compressor is working. Haha He wrote me up a quote for $900. I go home, and after a little more thinking about the 400psi discharge pressure I realized that I had made the mistake and added too much freon to system earlier that week. I let out the freon until the clutch kicked on and stayed on. Now it blows ice cold. He also tried to say I had air in the system. Which is laughable. the system would have had to gone completely empty to pull a vacuum to let air in. The likelyhood of the system to go completely empty on a daily driver is next to impossible. So he was trying to tell me that air at 0psi would enter a pressurized system at 30psi. Lets just throw the laws of physics out window.

Tried Nexar out for the first time today by taking my Audi in for an oil change. I was tired of dealing with my previous German car "specialist" where it would sometimes take me 4 hours of waiting to receive an oil change, so I decided to find a business that could provide me with a speedy competent oil change. I called Nexar prior to my arrival and I was informed that they could perform an oil change for Audis upon 20 minutes notice to order the oil filter. I arrived approximately 30 minutes later and I was out of there in less than an hour. I dont think Ive ever received such prompt service at an auto mechanic. Based on this initial experience alone, I would have to tentatively grant it a five star rating. UPDATE: So, after my prompt and speedy oil change, my Audi promptly started to drip oil all over my driveway and my workplace parking lot. It turns out that the crush washer was not replaced during the oil change. I took my car back to Nexar and their diagnosis was, "your crush washer was not replaced", which begs the question: if you knew the washer needed to be replaced during an oil change, why the f--k didnt you replace it? Rating reduced to 2 stars for incompetence, but, hey...at least its prompt and speedy incompetence.

All reviews are definitely fake, you can click each positive profile, and see that the only review is for nexar?... make sense... went for an wheel alignment, said I needed a part, okay, understood... told me do I want to align them anyways? I said hopefully if it fixes the problem... honesty, they should have told me not to continue to fix it, if it were not going to be fixed... totally got jipped for 131 bucks... now my shakes even more while on the road rather then it did before, these guys are a total scam, I ended up going straight to the Ford dealership, and for the same thing, now my car is perfect... I feel taken advantage of, and they wont give me my money back, I was robbed from them... DO NOT GO HERE. I was better off going to JC spa next store for a rub in tug waste my money there, and still feel empty inside.... I repeat total scam, they even try to draw in people with groupons (but they only work on 2 wheel alignments) pfft...

Summary: Awesome job; very competitive, non-hassle quotes; quick, friendly, excellent service; had my best interests in mind. I highly recommend you call this place for quotes on repairs. I called around for multiple quotes to replace the alternator on my car. Not only was theirs the best, it involved the least degree of salesmanship. They asked what kind of car, told me how much it was, no nonsense. While it was in the shop, they let me know my oil gasket cover (or something) needed to be replaced. Id known this for a while. They also asked if Id gotten a tune-up (I knew I needed one), they gave me a very fair combo price (Id already gotten several quotes in the past months) for handling both, but didnt pressure me. I agreed. They finished all these repairs the day after I dropped the car at the shop after hours. I was very impressed, and will continue to call them for quotes when I need future work done on my car.

I drive all the way from NW Houston just to go to Nexar. They are the best I have run across when it comes to A/C repair. Ive taken two different vehicles on separate occasions and they have never failed to exceed expectations. The first time I went (5 years ago), my A/C went out in my Nissan Xterra. They fixed it for hundreds of dollars less than the other quotes I had received. In addition, I just sold the car last year and the A/C was still working great. Last week I noticed the front passenger side floor of my Mazda CX-7 was wet. I found out the leak was coming from under my glove compartment behind the dash. I took the car to Nexar today and they took care of me again! What I thought was going to be a very expensive repair turned out to be a minor issue that they fixed in less than 30 minutes. I strongly recommend Nexar for any A/C problems you may have.

Having grown up on a farm doing all my own auto repair and maintence, and being a mechanical engineer proffessional, Im knowedgeable and capable of servicing my car but am out of state 2000 miles away without access to my tools and garage. Prior to coming to Houston I replaced my A/C compressor on my 93 miata. Now as the weather is warmer, no cold air. I went to Nexar to recharge with dye. Turns out the new compressor is bad, but under warranty. Nexar worked with supplier to honor warranty and even covers most of labor. It was a paperwork headache for the manager Robbie but he worked with the odd situation and has been very courteous, helpful, and professional as were his technicians. The work they have performed has been well done, and timely and at fair price. (I had my oil changed too - will return next change)

Honest Service and Inexpensive , it is hard for me to trust any mechanics because numerous times Ive been deceived. Furthermore, I went to several mechanics and they couldnt find the problem other than speculations as well as charging me extra money for work that didnt solve the problem. I was recommended to this place by a personnel at OReillys. He stated, "Theyre good people." The following day, I drove my car to get inspected because my car shimmers when it accelerate for months and worsen as time goes by. Robbie, the manager at this place, showed me the problem underneath my car and he gave me a direct price with no extras. After work was done, I was very impressed and satisfied with their service. My car runs smoothly and I really got my moneys worth.
