We highly recommend Watermark & Company and Mike Paclik and would encourage you to include Mike in your list of potential remodelers. I am a construction attorney and know very well the problems that people can have during a residential remodeling project. Because I know what can, and often does, go wrong, we had delayed starting this major project for several years. After our experience with Watermark, however, we wished that we had done this project years earlier. We couldn’t be happier with the final results, how quickly the work was done, the quality of the work, and the adherence to the budget. Throughout the project, Mike was regularly on site and anticipating upcoming issues. He communicated with us about potential issues that may arise, the need to address certain issues while they were exposed and easily accessible, and kept us focused on making selections (tile, plumbing fixtures, light fixtures, paint colors, etc.) to avoid any delays. We were motivated to complete the project as soon as possible, because we wanted to move back into the house as soon after having our second child. All of the major work was completed 2 weeks before the completion date, and we moved back into the house exactly 1 week before the completion date in the contract! In addition to finishing ahead of schedule, Mike was able to complete the project on budget. With any remodeling project (especially older homes) there are a number of unknowns that will undoubtedly occur. We encountered our share of issues, but Mike always kept us informed of the issues, and discussed the costs ahead of time. Even with the unknowns and the unavoidable additions/changes that occur during any project, we were able to complete the project in line with the budget. [You should budget an extra 20% for any construction project. Ours was only 10%]. It is obvious that Mike cares about the quality of the work and wants his customers to be happy with the finished product. On almost every occasion, Mike had already identified issues that needed to be correct before I could bring them up. He expected his subcontractors to perform the work to the same level of quality that we expected, so we were always very satisfied, especially with the final result. To sum up: this was a somewhat demanding project because the house was fairly old and required a significant amount of work, I’m a construction lawyer who is hypersensitive to potential pitfalls, my wife was pregnant, and we both had high expectations for the finished product. Not only was Mike willing to take on this project, he completed it on time, on budget, and with fantastic results!

Quick Summary: On Time and On Budget! (Unbelievably Rare in Home Renovation) This is the third house we have remolded. This is the only satisfying experience we have ever had with a contractor. These guys are super nice & very trustworthy. My husband and I hired Watermark & Company for a whole house renovation in summer, 2016. We were very pleased with their service and would highly recommend them. The two factors that were the most important to us were that the budget stay within the predicted range and that the project be finished on time for us to get our little girl settled into her room before the first day of Kindergarten. I was thrilled to find that the cost of the project was what they predicted, plus a handful of extras that we chose to add as we proceeded through the project. And most important of all – we moved back in one week before Kindergarten! Everything else was good as well. The crews they hired to work on the house were professional and skilled. JC and Louis coordinated the different teams brilliantly – there was always a team at work on something, and the different crews moved through like clockwork. As anyone who has lived through a major renovation can attest, there are hundreds of little decisions that must be made during the project. Louis was always readily available to advise us, and his advice was consistently good. The finished result was better with his recommendations. Both JC and Louis were always available and always pleasant. I can’t recommend them highly enough. Eventually we will build out a second story on our house and when we do, we will certainly hire them again.

This past summer, we hired Watermark to add a large gameroom over our garage, with built in cabinetry, closets, a computer desk, french doors, and home-theater/networking pre-wiring. This was not an attic finish-out, but rather a demolition of the existing roof/walls over the garage, followed by construction of the new room and tying the new floor/walls/roofline/electrical/HVAC into the rest of the house. Working with Mike Paclik and his team was a refreshing experience vs. previous remodeling experiences. Mike kept on top of everything and had progress being made almost every single day. We were floored that this addition took less than 2 months from the start of demolition to completion! (another contractor had quoted, at a significantly higher price, 7 months, but possibly up to a year!). Quality of workmanship was excellent... Mike showed great attention to detail, responded quickly to our questions, concerns, and requests, and was always a pleasure to work with. Post job completion, Mike and Watermark have continued to provide great service and quality, providing a real fix to an issue that developed, instead of taking a quick and easy patching sort of approach. Highly recommended!

Weve had Mike and his crews do three projects so far. The first was to our home, to remove most of a wall between living and family rooms to make it more "open," and to add two new picture windows. Plumbing had to be re-done and Mike handled it all and the price was very reasonable for the speed and (more important to us) the quality of the work. The second project was a small bathroom retouch and minor exterior improvements at a 4-plex unit where downtime had to be minimized. Mikes crew started and finished within 5 days so we could re-rent quickly. The third project was the biggest; a full kitchen remodel with moving of interior and exterior walls, and a total relocation of a bathroom. We are so happy with the results, and with the smoothness of the project. Mike knows his stuff, both technically and managerially, and communicates well with clients and subcontractors. He treats everyone around him with kindness and respect while getting the job done correctly and efficiently, and has very high standards for the finished product. We always get multiple bids, but no one else has come close!

Several months ago I needed a contractor in a hurry when a vehicle damaged my garage and spare bedroom. Watermark and Company had done some remodeling work for my neighbors so I called them. Mike came out to look at the needed repairs and provide me a quote. Within a week of the scheduled work time my garage and bedroom wall was made whole again. Due to the professional quality of work I called Mike a second time to upgrade my kitchen, hall bath and master bath with new countertops, backsplash, tile floors, bathroom fixtures and new paint. Mike took control of every detail of the project, guided me with my selections, while maintained quality control and scheduling of all work that was done. I am extremely pleased with the results. Watermark is a company that can be trusted to do the work the way you want it done. Jeannine
