Absolutely horrible experience. Im not the kind of person that rights reviews and this is actually my first one. But this place is so shady, mismanaged, and flat out doesnt care about customer service. I went there for an oil change and brake job. They told me theyd work up some prices and call with a quote before starting any work. I got a call about 15 mins later saying oil change would be $220. This was the first flag for me- when do shops need to estimate an oil change? So I told the guy, go ahead. He said theyd get started and call me back for quote on brakes. My family & i walked to the skating rink and skated a while; then to Chachos for some food; then to Baskin Robbins for ice cream; and finally back to Midas. The guy was just finishing up the brake quote!! This took over an hour and there was only 2 other customers in there!!! It wasnt that they didnt have a stall because they pulled my truck in almost immediately. Then the salesman (thats what it felt like- 4 guys working in the office and 2 actually doing the work)- took me to the bay and I guess thought he could BS me cause he said I needed 2 rotors in the front, 2 calipers, and pads all the way around. He tried to tell me that the calipers were ruined because they were over extended due to the pads being worn down so far. When I told him all he had to do was compress it back down he said it might work (Ive probably done more brake jobs than this guy had sold and never had to replace calipers). Then (with the wheels off) I saw the back rotors and pads at about 50%. Guy tried to tell me they should be replaced. I argued that they looked okay, and then he said, "well theyll maybe last 3 more months". I told the salesman, I didnt need rear brakes or calipers and just wanted new front rotors and pads. We went back inside (like I was buying a car or something) and he quoted me about $1300!!!. I about laughed out loud until I realized he was serious. I told him no thanks. Then he said, and I quote, "what are you wanting to spend?"... really?!?!? Its negotiable? I said he was way way off: new rotors are no more than $150 each and the set of pads about the same. So parts (even with the mark up) would only be $450 max. How did he get to $1300? I said no thanks to which he replied, "well my manager is here today let me see what I can do". Again I thought, dont they have set prices for this? He came back with $700. Which was still too high, but I was more surprised he could negotiate $600!! I told him no thanks & i would pay for the oil change then be on my way. I paused and said, "yall did the oil change already, right?" He replied yes they had. That turned out to be a lie. I watched them put my tires back on, raise the truck and start draining the oil. I ended up waiting another hour for them to finish. Total time there was over 2 hours for oil change and to unmount & remount my Tire. I left there, went to OReilly for parts ($200) then to "Bring Your Own Parts" where they charged $150 labor. 45 minutes and $350 bucks later I was back on the road. I wouldnt trust these guys to fill my wiper fluid bottle much less anything else. They are dishonest and try to take advantage of people who are familiar with mechanics. Stay clear of these guys!

DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICE, AND RUN WITH YOUR VEHICLE SOMEWHERE ELSE! I took my vehicle to them to check on my suspensions, as I started to hear a clicking noise every time I would hit a bump, the manager comes to me and tells me that the strut is seriously damaged, and that it needs to be replaced for a price of $1,205. Since I use the vehicle extensively to commute between San Antonio and Fort Hood, I did not hesitate, I usually take my vehicle to VW since I trust their service, however they were closed that day. So I leave the vehicle with them for the whole day so that may work on it, which was for a total of 5 hours, then when I come back to pick it, the mechanic told me that they changed the struts assemblies, however there was still some noise, "it should not be a problem, if the noise still persist just bring it back to us next week when you come back from Fort Hood" Next morning I start driving my vehicle and start being paranoiac about the new set of noises, it was similar to a grinding on the brake pad on the same wheel the sound came from before I took it to them, this time they were closed, and VW were open, the later did a quick diagnostic, and told me that the axle bolt was left loose causing damage to the hub bearing. So now I just imagine how it would have being if I just trusted that guy, and drove back all the way to Fort Hood, and my wheel just came off in the middle of nowhere on the highway, also the rattling noise, the reason why I brought the vehicle to them on the first place, is still there every time I hit a bump, and apparently it was due to a missing spring insulator, which makes me think that the struts might have being just fine, and I was played for a stupid customer, and I do admit it, I am stupid for not waiting one day to go fix my vehicle where I regularly fix it at. TL;DR: Took my vehicle to be fixed at Midas, the technicians made the problem even worse, requiring further repairs with extra costs.

My mother went into this location in December and paid for brakes/pads/rotors. When she picked up her vehicle it was in an even worse condition. After calling the location on numerous occasions to alert them of this, getting mistreated horrible, and even having the owner say, "maam I am NOT giving you any of your money back," my mother had enough and contacted corporate because enough is enough. When the corporate office advised her to go to another Midas location in San Antonio, that location advised that her vehicle was yes shaking, and actually grinding metal to metal. Keep in mind the location she originally went to said they completed the work that was paid for. The second location also confirmed that there is no way that the brakes/pads/rotors were changed since it was metal to metal. Also they confirmed that there were not any new parts. They put used hoses, caliber, etc on her vehicle. They literally do not care about my mothers safety. She is having to drive this vehicle in horrible condition because of them lying and not completing their work as promised that was paid for. Not to mention they blame their customers and hang up on customers as well. They are screwing my mother over and blaming her for their mishaps that were done intentionally. It has been over a month that her vehicle has been in horrible condition and she keeps getting the run around. Its a franchise so good luck getting answers. Do not go to this location because your safety is not considered when they dont do the work. We are still waiting for a resolution and they of course took her payment, but didnt complete the work that she paid for. This Midas is trash.
