I was on a vacation in the McAllen area and needed my vehicles AC serviced before returning home for the weekend; AC was not cooling properly. I waited for about an hour when someone returned with some good news that I was only low on Freon and that I would be out of there in no time. About an hour later that same person returned informing me that I would require a new compressor and quoted $1300 for the total repair. I was shocked since my vehicle is only an 07 and was needing a full compressor kit replacement; I paid for what ever services they had already performed which accumulated to a total of $98 and opted to hold on the repair to get a second opinion from an AC specialist. Later that day I visited a recommended AC repair place on Harlingen TX "J N Auto Air" and they got my AC working like new for $130! turns out that all I needed was some controller that was easily replaced. Im glad I avoided the cost of the $1300 repair but upset that I lost $98 on these guys at Stuz! I can not speak for these guys on other areas of auto repair but I would avoid them for AC repair. I also question these guys integrity and knowledge; not sure if they were trying to shake me down since I was from out of town or un knowledgable in AC repair. If you are in the valley area and need AC repair I would highly recommend J N Auto Air in Harlingen. Im from corpus and plan to have all future needs serviced over here in the valley.

Do not take your car to be serviced here. I left my car here at 8:00 a.m. to have my brakes checked. I also asked them to check my emissions system since my engine light had come on. What I didnt tell them was that my fuel cap had been loose a day before which sometimes causes an engine light to come on temporarily. When I called to check on the car 7 1/2 hours later, I was told it hadnt been worked on because "were pricing parts and you MAY have a cylanoid problem that will likely cost around $1500.00". At that point, I went and picked up my car before these crooks/incompetents could begin any work on it. By the way, the engine light was off when I picked up the vehicle. Do not take your vehicle here as you will be "taken to the cleaners by these gougers".

They changed our transmission fluid (on Thursday) and then 1.5 days later the fluid was empty. To their credit they towed the car back to their shop (Saturday morning) at their expense and claimed to fix their mistake (they claim to have broken a hose accidentally). However, after getting the car back (the second time) the car was profusely leaking transmission fluid. We now have to wait until Monday before we will find out how the story ends. We are hoping that they are willing to fix the problem quickly come Monday morning. Okay, on Monday they fixed it. We will see how long it lasts. They had also broke the "kick stand" for the hood and on Monday they fixed that too.

$520 for a tune-up, and thats including with a AAA discount. On a 1987 Chevy Blazer, nothing wrong with my Blazer just needed a tune-up. The reason why its costing that much they said, because its going to be done with Napa parts, 2 yrs warranty. I got it done with another mechanic shop for $162, and he did excellent job.

I came to get my vehicle inspection sticker, and was told it would be 15-20 minutes. Close to an hour later and Im still sitting here and no one has touched my car. I do not appreciate the lie I was told - especially when this is something that Im trying to get done over my lunch break!

Mr Stutz did a wonderful job on our car, he totally went the extra mile to get us on the road fast. Very honest and gave us a great deal! We would go back again and again if we lived in the area.

When to get state inspection but they just didnt want to do the service. Im from out of town. If you need service with your car go to markhams alignment & spring. They are honest.
