EDIT The Key Depot contacted me. They re-ordered the part and fixed my car. I am sincerely happy with them now. I had an emergency situation where Id lost my keys. I couldnt get in my vehicle or my apartment. I called The Key Depot, explained my situation, and was told they could do that. I was quoted a price of $125.00, which seemed fair enough. The experience went downhill from there. First, they told me they couldnt "program" the key without the original, which, of course, was lost. They asked me where I had lost the key and I told them. I went back into my apartment, and came out a while later to check and see how it was going. They were walking the field next to the apartment complex looking for my keys. Seems like they couldnt do this after all. In the process of walking the field, my keys were found. I was ecstatic! They put my car door back together and then charged me $179.00. I didnt even mind that considering that I had my keys and would not have found them any other way. What I did mind, though, was getting into my car the next day to go to work and attempting to put down the window. The control console in the door had been broken and it flipped straight up when I tried to use the control. I called the locksmith and they said come in to the office. I did. They said they didnt have the fastener right now to fix it so as a temporary fix they used clear silicone in the area where the console would be held down. This lasted all of maybe a week. I called them about this and was told to return again. This time they told me they had to order a part because they had broken off the part of the console that interlocks with the door. They took my number and my information and have never called me again. I called them a couple of times and was told the part was on order. I have not returned because Im tired of getting the run around. I knew when they took my info that it was very likely Id not hear from them again. The actual owner of the business seems to have a problem talking. He never spoke directly, but always had the people working for him speak to me. He isnt deaf or dumb because I heard him talking to his employees. Be careful with this company. You might get what you need for the price you are quoted, but I sure got taken to the cleaners. My car is still broken and they havent made any additional attempt to fix it.

These guys are the best! I have already had two run ins with them (I am accident prone!). First I locked myself out of my 2007 Honda Civic coupe, a vehicle that MOST locksmiths claimed to be very difficult to open, I called and their technician Jim came out and opened in in a jiff and charged a MUCH better rate than anyone else had quoted! Jim was super friendly and helpful and explained everything SO well! My Second run in with their technician Daniel. I had lost my key for the same said vehicle, and OMG I was scarred because EVERYONE told me it would be so expensive. Well having saved the business card from the last experience, I called and they sent Daniel out right away. He was very prompt and very helpful in explaining why this key was more expensive. I have a special laser cut key with a "transponder". He knocked it out super fast and had me on my way. I was so happy. I cant comment on the experience of the other reviews, but as a new and loyal customers, these guys are the rockstars of locksmithing!

Took motorcycle ignition and tank into key depot to have keys made. They quoted me 2 days and $40-60. A week later I called to check status. The phone operator didnt know if it was done and refused to check. The next day I called and was told the technician was having problems and needed a couple more days. I picked up both forementioned items and took them to village locksmith in universal city. They provided two keys in a matter of 20 minutes for $27. Never again will I give business to key depot.

I stopped by the NB location this afternoon to have a key made for a mid-90s American SUV (I didnt already have a key). The locksmith who greeted me at the door immediately headed to the parking lot to take a look at my vehicle. About 20 minutes later he had a working key for all doors, I paid the bill which was far less than I had budgeted and I went about my business. It was a pleasant experience and Ill absolutely go back when another locksmith need arises.

Cannot say enough about this place. Came out on a Saturday night to resolve a business issue that another locksmith had left unresolved. They had done previous work for my business in the past and we trusted them. The technician, Vinny, was polite, efficient, and knowledgeable and arrived earlier than I was originally quoted. He fixed the problem in practically no time. Call Key Depot for any of your locksmith needs, you will not be disappointed!!!

They were fast and courteous. Every time I need keys made for whatever reason they have always come through for me. As for those posting about buying keys elsewhere and not being able to get them cut, lets grow up and be real. Do you take your own toppings into a pizza place and ask them to make you a pizza. Same concept... Or would you take drinks into a bar and ask them to serve it to you, again same thing. Key depot gets five stars from me...

Vinny not only made keys for my 1970 Holiday Rambler RV, but also worked on the lock that was malfunctioning. Vinny was able to rework the lock making in function better and explained to me what was keeping it from performing in perfect condition. The staff is very friendly and Vinny is amazing! I drove from smithville to come here, and recommend The Key Depot for all key and lock needs, but especially if you have an older RV!

I was forced to make an appointment because the only technician apparently qualified to make the duplicate key I needed was unavailable. I shuffled my schedule to accommodate this. When I showed up for the appointment, the technician no-showed me and then suggested that I make ANOTHER appointment with him...within a half hour of posting this review, I was called by them and they made it right..

The absolute worst service I have received in my entire life. I created this account just to make sure that nobody has to endure what myself and children went through when we relied on The Key Depot after losing our keys in the River. I do not recommend that anyone use them to make a new key or to treat customers with respect.

Last Friday I locked my keys in my car and, of course I did not realize it till 5 oclock, right when I got off. Thank goodness The Key Depot came to my rescue... They had me in my car in no time at all.. Vinny was prompt, courteous, and simply awesome!!! I will continue to use them and highly recommend them.....
