I wanted to share my horrible customer experience about Trade Secret: I was in a not-at-fault accident in May of 2014 in which the other drivers insurance was to take care of all of the charges. Once my car was complete in July, I was asked to make a final payment of approx. $3,800 to Trade Secret to account for the checks the insurance company had sent to me directly. Nine months later, I received a letter from Trade Secret indicating that they had made numerous attempts to reach me (they didnt) to pay them $1,200. When I called them to ask why they felt I owed them $1,200, they simply stated that the full repair bill had not be paid for. After disclosing to me that the employee handling my service had been let go for unsavory work activities, they insisted I owed the money. I reminded them that I had made a final payment at the time of picking up my vehicle since their stated business practice was not to release vehicles unless service is paid in full. Curious how I got my vehicle if not paid in full. Due to going through a mortgage process, I could not afford to have them wrongfully file a collection on my credit, I requested them to split the supposed amount with me and call it even. A manager (whose name was not disclosed) apparently declined my request. I had planned to pay the $600 and as a thank you for stepping up and splitting the $1,200 (which I do not feel I owe in the first place) I was going to have some additional work that I needed done (approx. $3,500) at their shop. Instead, they refused to take ownership of the mistake and forced me to pay the $1,200. This situation went from a potential customer delight scenario to a horrible customer experience for me. I will not be utilizing Trade Secret for any of my vehicle repair needs in the future. I will gladly recommend others to avoid Trade Secret as well. Just another case of a business not doing the right thing by their customer.

Trade Secret came highly recommended to me and their numerous OEM certifications are displayed proudly on the walls. These appearances unfortunately do not reflect the work they do. I took my car to Trade Secret to have a very deep scratch in my rear quarter panel and bumper repaired. The repair was done, and a pretty good job too; however when I went to pick up the car my dash lit up like a Christmas tree. Lighting system malfunctions, windows didnt work, turn signals didnt work, door lock/unlock buttons dont work, key fob lock/unlock doesnt work. I also had a custom built amp rack in my trunk that was blocking access to the rear tail light that needed to be removed in order to complete the body work. Instead of calling me and asking me how to properly remove it, the guy working on my car forcefully yanked the amp rack out of the way breaking it in multiple places. The amps were just laying in the trunk and the 4 guage LIVE POWER wire had come out of the amp and was just laying there exposed. None of this was brought to the attention of the service adviser, as he was just as shocked to see my trunk as I was. Trade Secret stepped up and covered the costs of all required repairs, but this should never have happened in the first place. I will never go back to Trade Secret, nor will I recommend them to my friends. On the contrary, I will advise them to stay far away.

Worse experience ever...my Tesla acquired minor small body damage in Sept. 2016. Trade Secret said they couldnt receive my vehicle until 2-3 months due to them being backed up. Finally dropped off my vehicle in Dec. 2017 and then a horrific hail storm hit and completely damaged the entire vehicle while on their uncovered lot. Its now June 2017 and my car is barely in the paint process. Theyve had my vehicle for 7 months now and giving me all kinds of excuses as to why its taking this long for repairs to be completed. I understand 2-3 months because all parts are made and shipped from Cally but a whole entire 7 months has gone by. Im beginning to think someone else is enjoying driving my Tesla. Unfortunately, Trade Secret and John Eagle are currently the only 2 repair shops in the Dallas metroplex that are certified to work on Teslas and they both are just awful when it comes to customer service, quality of the repair work and length of time for the repairs to be completed. Hoping that additional much more reputable body shops in the local Dallas area start becoming Tesla certified...

My Tesla was vandalized earlier this year, and I needed 2 body panels repainted. What made the task hard for me was that I live over 350 miles away from Dallas, and there are only 2 Tesla authorized body shops in North Texas. I found Trade Secret extremely easy to work with on the phone. They were able to look at photos that I supplied by email to give us a rough estimate as to the cost of repairs. They were also able to work well with the claims adjuster from Safeco and coordinate my coverage. I arranged through Safeco to have the car transported to Trade Secret and they were able to receive my car properly and begin work. The work was started as promised and was completed on time. The final cost actually turned out to be somewhat less than the original estimate. The paint was matched beautifully, and it is impossible to tell where the original paint stopped and the new paint started. My 3 year old Tesla looks brand new. They did a wonderful job and I would highly recommend them. They were honest, economical, and extremely easy to work with. I would highly recommend them.

The absolute worst customer experience I have ever had to endure, they have had my car for more than 3 months and they can not give me a time frame of when my car is going to be completed! they never return phone calls, you literally have to badger the receptionist to get someone to give you an update and when you get an update theres always a lame excuse as to why they cant get the car finished. I gave them my business because Audi Plano said they were the only authorized Audi body shop in our area certified to work on my Q5 which has hail damage from the storm on March 26th, now I have to pay out of pocket for a rental to get to work because they cant finish the job in a timely manner. This experience has turned me against the Audi brand, I loved driving my Q5 but when I get the car back I am trading it in for a brand that can service their cars fully at the dealership, not a third party shop that holds your car hostage for an unreasonable amount of time. Run away from this business or you will have nothing but aggravation!

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE customer service! I was told I would be updated of the process all along after being involved in a minor fender bender where I was rear-ended (all cosmetic damage) - not the case, whatsoever. After many failed attempts to contact THEM, I find out after 4 weeks that they are "just waiting on parts"...excuse me? Ive been driving around in a rental car (half is my responsibility, half is the liable partys responsibility) for over a month because youve been waiting on parts and you didnt deem it necessary to send me an email/text or pick up the phone and call and let me know?! Hopefully my car is actually ready soon! Still waiting. Every time I actually speak to someone I am given a different story and I am sick of it. Im sure there are many other body shops that could fix my car just as well that dont flaunt such a blatant disregard for their customers. Ill be taking my business elsewhere in the future and will advise others to do so as well.
