I get a call from a girl from Richardson Plumbing. She said that the owner of Richardson Plumbing is selling the business to another company and the owner wants to make sure that the water heater and HVAC unit on all of his past customers are working properly before he sells the company. She says that owner has set up a program for all his past customers and will send a technician out FREE OF CHARGE to check my water heater and another technician for my HVAC unit. This sounded a little fishy to me but I had done business with them in the past and have always received good service. I went ahead and set-up the appointment for the tech to come out for the HVAC unit first. My house is rented out so I called my tenant and let him know they would be coming out. The tenant met the tech and after looking at the unit, the tech calls me and tells me that the unit is dangerous; he said something about sparks flying inside the furnace when it starts and this could pose a fire hazard. He also told me that Richardson Plumbing had already been sold to a company called Earthwise Home Services. I was skeptical as I had a lot of work done on the furnace about two years ago and cant imagine suddenly there would be a major issue like this. He said the cost to repair the unit would be about $1,000. I told him I wanted to get a second opinion on it and would get back with him. He left and I spoke with my tenant; what I didnt know was that my tenant had been in the AC/Furnace repair business for over 30 years. He said that there was nothing wrong with the furnace and that it is normal for small sparks inside the unit at certain times....I suppose when the unit starts up. I did some research and found out that Earthwise has had numerous complaints on it. Also found out that when the girl from "Richardson Plumbing" had made the initial call & told me that the company was going to be sold, that in fact the company had already been sold at this time and was no longer Richardson Plumbing. This was just a line she was using to trick me into thinking that the company was still Richardson Plumbing when in fact it was not; just to get me to agree to have someone come out to give a free "tune-up" so they could find something wrong with the unit when in fact there was nothing wrong with it all. And they used a scare tactic...telling me that unit posed a fire hazard and that "sparks were flying everywhere inside the unit", trying to get me to agree to a bogus $1,000 repair. I am sure I am not the only person that this has happened and would advise all to avoid this company.

DISHONEST! My mother used Richardson Plumbing for years. Earthwise bought out Richardson Plumbing and kept their old number. Answered the phone as Richardson Plumbing. Needed toilet installed. They cant give the price "until they see what needs to be done." $59 fee to just show up. I see the Earthwise van. He tells me about the change, and they still were a small Richardson Plumbing patch. Wow. He looks at toilet. Tests to see if it moves when pushed. Opens his book and tells me its $328 - that is the senior "discount" since my mom is elderly!! He admits its expensive, but "that covers the installation, no matter how long it takes, includes their superior wax ring," and he says it also covers them in case they have to buy a new toilet because he breaks it. Oh really - the person who answers the phone has "no way" to know how much it is going to cost?!!! MAYBE THEY SHOULD LET HER LOOK AT THEIR BOOK OF PRICES!!! I bet she says that because they are TOO EXPENSIVE

Richardson Plumbing does not exist! At least not the one I have used for years. When I called to have the valve on my refrigerators water line replaced no one told me there would be a new company responding, Earthwise Home Services. The courtesy call said he would be at my house at 9...he arrived at 9:20 but sat in the van on his phone for 10 minutes. When he came in he was more concerned about explaining to me the new cost structure than what I actually needed replaced. I had said exactly what needed replacing, yet after he looked at the valve & said it "wasnt soldered on" he didnt have the correct part and had to leave to go get one! Once he came back, he discovered it was soldered on!! So I had him put it back together and will find another plumber. I have wasted the entire morning and I will not be using this company again. It was almost worth the $59 to discover that I dont want them handling any plumbing issues in my home.

I have called on Richardson Plumbing for many years and they have always been reliable, professional and gone the extra mile to get the job done right. One such time, we were about to leave on a trip when the cutoff valve in our bathroom starting leaking. Richardson Plumbing quickly came through and fixed the problem and we were able to leave knowing all was well. They use quality replacement parts and you can count on their fix lasting. Richardson Plumbing has not only fixed traditional plumbing problems but has helped me address plumbing issues with our air conditioning overflow draining system. I highly recommend Richardson Plumbing and want to thank them publically for all their help.

Used them in the past with great satisfaction. Called and asked for an estimate. Someone from Earthware or some such nonsense showed up, looked, got on the phone with the "boss" and then without foreplay, kisses or by your leave, asked me to bend over. I allowed as how I had no interest so paid the $59.00 estimate cost and called another plumber who gave an estimate half of them and actually charged less after the job was done. Never, never call Richardson Plumbing first unless you like being jacked around. Lesson well learned and it only cost me $59.00. I have paid more in the past but I did get some gentle caresses prior to the insertion.

Just FYI Richardson plumbing has merged with Earthwise. They would not give me an estimate or clue of price range over the phone. Other quotes were 250 and 300 and they said 487! So I essentially said what can you fix for $59? because I still owed them a service call fee. And he said nothing. Manager would not negotiate except by $50 and was like why didnt she go with the other company then? AAAKKKK I WAS MAD. So the tech said if u dont want to pay we cant do anything about it. I said sounds good. Why should I have to pay $59 to be pissed off?

I used Richardson Plumbing last year and called them back. I should have known something was up when a different company van showed up. I paid $59 for a rate that is triple the HIGH average from a good onliner source. As the reviews indicate, last year they sold to a corporate concern and you will notice the reviews fall off a cliff and read similar to this. Dont use them, they are making their living $59 dollars at a time for zero work!
