So I dont usually do reviews, but given how bad my experience was, I thought I should warn others. Found this business on Angies list. When they came out the first time, it not only took all day (when per other electricians it should have taken no more than 3 hrs), but they didnt fully complete the job. They were to then complete it when they came out the following week as well as checking all the rooms....well that didnt happen. They kept missing scheduled appointments and not calling to reschedule...which meant I did alot of waiting around for them to show up for nothing. Then when I would call them, the voicemail was always full and there would be no response. On the off chance they would answer, it would be rescheduled with a guarantee that they would definitely show....well yet again that didnt happen. Even after informing them that the lights in entire section of the property had not worked since they originally came out, they still didnt make the appointment. So yet again I had to try to get ahold of them, only this time the only way they answered was through a text message. The messages did nothing but give excuses with no apologies. Ended up using someone else. I highly recommend that people do not use this company as you will never know what to expect.

Chris and his crew showed up on time every time they said they would be at the house, didnt leave a scrap of trash anywhere, and were more than courteous and even good with my dog. A lot of companies may do what I described above, but Upton does so much more. I was quoted a price well below other companies, and they started work that Saturday since they did not have any other times available during that week. However, they really came through for us when Oncor showed up during the job and -without cause or reason- took my meter away; leaving my pregnant wife, our 1-yr old and me without power and no clear way to get it back on, or even any justification for leaving us in the dark both figuratively and literally. Chris came up with a solution nevertheless, and when Oncor finally came back to replace my meter 4 days later, Chris was there to meet the tech after 9:30 pm and made sure everything worked. Just about any company can give you a good price and show up on time. But when cr@p hits the fan I would rather have Upton Electric working on my job and will do so from now on.

I cannot say enough good things about Chris and his crew. I have hired them twice, once to replace and update an old electrical panel that was past its prime, and again to track down an intermittent lighting problem. First class service and scheduling on both jobs. They were on time, priced competitively and conscientious in their work manner. In addition to that they were always very pleasant to work with, pleasant and friendly while doing their jobs and extremely good at cleaning up after themselves - that is always a bonus! I will hire Upton Electric again and will confidently refer them as a trustworthy source to others in need of their services.

We are new home owners in East Dallas (White Rock Lake area) and I had Chris Upton come out to the house to fix a few electrical problems that the house inspector found. Instead of just fixing everything and charging me a big bill, he actually examined the breaker box issues and explained in great detail that it did not need a repair and was actually in great shape. I had him install a few switches, and not only did he do a great job (at a reasonable price), but he saw a few things here and there that need a small fix, such as a loose plug panel, and he just fixed them and didnt charge me extra. I cant recommend him high enough.

We used Nextdoor to find a recommended electrician & now he seems to have disappeared with our deposit. He has over $1500 from us from December 2015 and he has canceled and or no-showed for 4 appointments. We then asked for a refund (14 days ago), which he said he would send & now its been 37 days since he deposited our check and he will not respond to any sort of text or call (since his email no longer works). We are going to file a claim against him in small claims court and file a complaint with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

We used Upton to install some recessed lights in our kitchen. Julio came by for the job and arrived on time. Work was done as clean as possible (covered floor, held a box near the ceiling to catch dust while cutting holes, vacuumed after job was finished). It all took about 3 hours and Julio went above and beyond to have it installed just as we wanted. Great service, fair price and would for sure use them again and recommend to others.

I recently had Chris from Upton Electric install a chandelier and lower another. He did an awesome job. Very professional, knowledgeable and helpful with suggestions and recommendations. He pays attention to details which I found refreshing It was the best experience Ive had with hiring an electrician. I do feel bad though that he had to climb up and down three flights of stairs several times. Sorry Chris.
