Mr. Bernard, I find your review of Fender Mender quite puzzling since you personally have not had a vehicle at this business. The vehicle you are referring to happens to be MY vehicle ... the one you hit in your FOX Rental truck on December 9, 2016 where you claimed to be the OWNER of Fox rental and promised to take care of the damages you recklessly caused. You made it clear you wanted to pay cash instead of going through Fox Rentals insurance. The following Monday, December 12, 2016 you were given an ESTIMATE for the repairs. You said the amount would not be a problem so I told you I would need the money before I could drop my truck off at Fender Mender for repair. You said that you didnt want to get screwed and went to Fender Mender and spoke with Barry who agreed to let you pay after my truck was fixed. Once my damaged bumper was removed, additional damage was found. Unfortunately this increased the bill by $173 and some change. This should be pocket change for the "owner" you claim to be for FOX Rental. Barry called you and you were at the airport heading out of state for the holidays and he told you about the new amount and told you why. Barry agreed to let you pay when you arrived back in the state which was January 5th. You went in that morning and paid the estimate amount and refused to pay the total bill, which left my truck unable to be picked up. I called you and you again told me that you were the owner of Fox Rental and that I could sue you for the money since you know the Denton County Judge. I then asked for the Fox Rental company insurance and you laughed and refused to give it. After you realized that I couldnt afford to pay the $173, you finally said you would pay as long as I never use Fender Mender again. Then you chose to pay the final amount owed but the way you did this was extremely immature, dumping $173 in change on the floor of the business while video taping your self. Then you go on these reviews and lie about what really happened. Quite mature for the "owner" of FOX Rental. Bottom line, Fender Mender did a fantastic job repairing my vehicle, Barry was paid what he was owed and FOX Rental was represented in a very poor light.

I have known of and worked with Fender Mender for over a decade. Ive never know the type of behavior some claim were displayed by this shop and/or ownership. I dont think hed be able to operate in this community and grow to build another shop if they treated people like whats being described here. Of course, the mad ones are the first to go on an online tirade blasting something or someone they dont fully understand. In regards to the price changes, this is a standard practice whether dealing with the shop or the insurance company. Its just what its called...an ESTIMATE. Its not called a final or a firm. The shop cannot always see what may or may not be damaged underneath a panel. Its not until they complete whats called tear-down, that they can fully assess the damages. They write what they can see is damaged and what is, not what might be. This is the way a shop should write an estimate. If youre dealing with an insurance company whos already written an estimate this happens all the time behind the scenes and is called a supplement and typically the shop and the insurance appraiser work it all out with no issues. I love how folks who "are in the auto industry" or "know how these things work" really dont. Substantiate your claims with evidence and specifics and dont bash a local, independent business just because you dont understand the process, even though you think you do, and arent willing to listen to anyone explain things to you. I have personally never had a vehicle repaired with Fender Mender as Ive never had the need before. However, due to a hit & run driver, I am taking my vehicle in there next week and am more than confident that the repairs will be completed in an exceptional manner. This is based on my prior interactions with the shop (from marketing, insurance, replacement needs, etc...) and all the rave reviews that customers have provided for the shop when Ive spoken with them.

I took our car to fender mender and had a quote written. The quote was high and we decided to sell our car. We called the secretary and informed her of the situation and she said it was okay to leave the car for a few days. When we showed up with the individuals to purchase the vehicle from us the next day, the owner of fender mender started screaming at my wife and I about him writing up a quote for nothing and screamed at the people purchasing the car for stealing business from him. He had my wife in tears, told us we had 30 min to get the car off his property and kicked the new owners of the vehicle off his property. He has multiple bad reviews on Yahoo and Google for the exact same behavior but we had not looked at his business on the internet before taking the car to him. Hopefully the new owners were able to retrieve the car from his lot the next day. I see that many other people on Google and Yahoo have had similar experiences. Hopefully they will follow up their complaints with a BBB complaint as well as reviews here and also write to their their insurance companies to ask them to stop using Fender Mender. Hopefully the owner Barry will seek counseling or psychiatric care for his anger management issues so this behavior will not continue with future customers.

Fender mender in Roanoke has treated me very poorly. Went in and spoke with the owner Berrie about some autobody work. I was pleased with the figure given and left my vehicle for work. I returned later to pick up my vehicle and the price had drastically gone up. 12% to be exact. The shop did not do their job when telling me what it would cost. They have either grossly underestimated what it would cost in order to get me in the door and leave my vehicle, or they are truly that incompetent in their work and do not know how to estimate vehicular repairs, while being in the repair industry. Not to mention vehicle was a week late. Not the industry standard nor acceptable. Not worth giving the business to.

I have used fender mender several times in the last 5 years. They were always very late with the repairs. I had a drip on my truck tailgate that they refused to fix. I also had parts left in the bed of my truck that they could not put back in place. Meaning chrome tow hooks that should have been put back on the front of my ford fx 4x4. They said they could not find or fabricate the crossmember to reinstall them. I had no choice but to take my truck as is because I was waiting over 6 weeks with no rental car coverage. My wifes van was missing trim that they refused to replace and the stereo never worked after we got it back but they refused to address it.
