The staff at Deacon are not your typical temporary agency staff, and that is a great compliment to their philosophy, core objectives, and approach. Whereas other temp agencies really engage in the practice of "filling" positions, making their quota, and making hopeful employees jump through endless hoops in order to earn a chance at their ideal position (you know who you are), recruiters like Austin Ackerman take the time to understand ones aspirations, goals, and real world aptitude, in order to work to find him or her a position with the potential to forge a career. That being said, keep in mind that the interviewing/registration process is a lot more involved with them, but its worth the extra time and effort. Finding an entry-level position in a new or transitional field is hard enough, but finally, I am being offered positions with real compensation and growth potential. I cannot recommend them more.

I had a interview with the Executive Recruiter Yvonne Very pleasant lady. However in reviewing her Bio I was not impressed. In the interview she walks in with no papers just a pen. I provided her with my Resume as professional etiquette. As she interviewed me she proceed to use my resume as a scratch piece of paper. Basically proceeded to tell me in laments terms that since Im going for a Masters the company she was hiring for was not a great fit because she states I was looking for more. Then continues on regarding my education. As professional she did not have the credentials to interview me from the way she talked and we could have completed the prescreening over the phone. I believe many companies who hire recruiters should screen better just because they have experience some need to know how to handle professionals when speaking with them especially if you are an executive recruiter.

Do not deal with these people. They try to sell you on how they are biggest and best (both of which they are not) recruiting firm in San Antonio. Handful of times in the past, Ive been contacted for positions I thought were interesting, and was never contacted back when I responded. When we finally got into "the process" with someone (my very last experience Ive had with them), not only did they not answer questions Ive had, which would have helped them be more informed about me, but they would never directly answer any of the questions that Ive had. The attitude during the conversation was "You should be lucky we are even contacting you". I felt more like a product to be used at their discretion, rather than a person. STAY AWAY!

This firm is absolutely the most UNPROFESSIONAL organization I have ever dealt with in San Antonio!!!! I have responded to job opportunities on their website and have NEVER been called, contacted, e-mailed........Not even a response to say the job is already filled or I dont have the skills they are looking for......NOTHING!!!! I have sent e-mails to Emily, Holly, Diana and Lauren.....I have been told my other employment agencies that this company is merely a tax write off for the owner and they have never filled any positions. DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!

I "interviewed" there a little over a month ago. The recruiter seemed impressed with my resume and work history. And then I never heard from her again. She stated she would be in contact with me, and *poof* ..she never so much as emailed, nor returned my call. I am extremely disappointed in this company. I am not originally from San Antonio, and my hometown is much smaller than SA and we have extraordinary recruiting firms. If this is the "Best" San Antonio has to offer, the city should be very embarrassed.

I realize some of the other reviews have been negative. My experience, however has been much more positive. A recruiter from Deacon approached me several moths ago after meeting me at an event. Every question I asked was answered in a reasonable time frame. The recruiter with whom I worked made sure she understood what I wanted in a job. She made sure potential employment opportunities fit with my wants/desires in an employer. She also understood the tech world in which I worked, which was a huge plus!

I am in the process of relocating to San Antonio, and Deacon has been posting the most interesting executive assistant jobs that I have seen. I contacted them, and initially spoke with Meagan. She was quite accommodating and connected me with Yvonne. I met with Yvonne and was impressed with her thoughtful and thorough interview style. She was interested in me and what I am looking for. I am encouraged that I will have positive results in my job search due to my affiliation with Deacon.

I would like to recognize Randi Jinkins and Amber Dalton for being very professional and pleasant to meet. I am new to San Antonio and the stress of start new is exciting yet unsettling when looking for a new career path in a new city. Randi and Amber were so accommodating and responsive to my needs and calls. They helped ease the anxiety of start new. Because of these two ladies, I look forward to new possibilities and I look forward to working for Deacon Recruiting. Good Job!!!

I was pleasantly surprised by the manner and style questions were asked by Holly Esquivel. Ive worked with many recruiting firms, Ive never been surprised until my interview and overall experience at Deacon. Also, although I found Deacon to be professional I felt welcome and at ease because the experience was friendly too. The front desk person, sadly I do not recall her name, is also a great asset to Deacon.

I met with Sanjay Suckoo in late October and by the first week of December I was scheduled for an interview for my dream job. Sanjay paid close attention to the details and found the job of my dreams. Because of him and Lauren Costly I will begin my job as an Executive Assistant. Thank you Deacon Recruiting for everything and I definitely will be referring colleagues your way.

Im revising my review after meeting with Leslie K. She was extremely helpful and attentive to what I am looking for. To other applicants, please be aware that getting an actual face to face interview is a long process. Crossing my fingers Leslie will be able to find me my next career experience.

During the interview with Mayra Calderon we went through my background, strengths and weakness, and the features of the potential position that I was considered for. Mayra was professional and warm at the same time.

I would not recommend this company to anyone! I went through them two separate times and I had zero luck. I had to keep in contact with them about possible job opportunties. POOR SERVICE.
