This company responded to a home warranty call at the home I rent to an elderly female tenant. They had the tenant sign and agree to the work without my knowledge...even though they verified while setting up the appointment that I was the owner and were told to call me for the repairs (so apparently they understand that the property owner or an authorized agent must consent to the work). $250 to excavate a 1x1x1 hole to diagnose a sprinkler regulator issue. They then told my tenant that the part was $525 plus labor. It did not sound right to me when the tenant called me (from states away) when the worker left to get the "golden part". They didnt contact me (the owner and one they had spoken to in setting up the appointment) about the needed repairs. So I immediately called another company for a second opinion. Turns out the part was $56 and with 2 hours of labor the entire repair was under $250. The owner, Bob, called to inquire what "the problem was". When I explained that they were trying to charge at outrageously high amount and taking advantage of an elderly widow (my tenant) and myself, he informed me I still owed him $250 for the "excavation". I politely informed him that he did not have my permission to do anything on my property...that I was not asked or informed...and that they were trying to charge rates way out of line with honest plumbers. He then informed me that he would be contacting his attorney. This companys practice of trying to take advantage of women and the elderly is simply appalling. I would never recommend this company as they obviously are not honest about the costs of parts and try to do business in a deceitful manner by not informing the client/home owner of what they intend to do. I never would have used if they werent the contracted plumber for American Home Shield. I have notified AHS of this situation and hopefully they will chose a more honest company to use for their clients in the future.

The plumbers that came to the house were very nice, the problem is the office manager! Over the course of a month I was trying to get my tankless hot water heater repaired. Part of the time issue was working around the constraints of the home warrantee contract. However, Immediate Response only has one person that works on tankless hot water heaters. After the first visit, it stopped working again and the plumber came out and said it was blowing the breaker and I should get an electrician out to look at the circuit, which I did, and the electrician said it was fine. The plumber returned days later and this time decided it was a bad heating element. He called the company and they didnt make parts for that brand anymore. The home warrantee company called me and asked if I would like to replace it or take a cash buy out, I opted for the replacement. Unfortunately, Immediate Response was my only choice to do the replacement, and instead of ordering a highly rated locally available tankless hot water heater, they placed an order through a company that took several days to send a more expensive lower rated unit. There is clearly a disconnect between the plumber and the awful office staff. The plumber comes and says nothing has been ordered, which my home warrantee company confirmed, but the office manager said they were wrong and the order was confirmed to be in that day or the next and refused to book the plumber to come out... three days later she confirmed the items were received, but then we had to wait through the weekend to get the repairs done. I pleaded with the office manager to schedule the plumber to come out as soon as possible, and that I would be available at a moments notice because I had a houseful of guests coming for the holidays. She suggested that maybe I should have taken the buy out and done it myself. To date, I still do not have a fully functional water heater.

Our water heater just quit working tuesday at 5 am,I scheduled a service on line at 7 am, got confirmation on email and a call from their contracor IMMEDIATE RESPONSE with a very rude representative named DIANNE who gave me 48 hrs to wait for the service. I called AHS customer service and after a long wait, I spoke with one who told me that 48 hrs is the normal turn around, it doesnt matter whether its emergency or not. so today is supposed to be the most awaited schedule. My husband called Immediate response to asked them what time they will be showing up and somebody told him that it will be between 1pm to 5 pm. my husband left his contact number for them to call since I was at work and may not be able to answer their call. at 1336, HRH DIANNE called my phone to tell me they need direction to get to my home. of course i was not able to answer since i am at work. my husband called them again at 3pm and he was told that since i didnt answer their call, they cant do it today anymore. my husband called AHS customer service and he was told by a customer service rep that " THAT IS WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU ARE RUDE TO OUR CONTRACTORS!" REALLY?????? SO UNBELIEVABLE. WE ARE PAYING OUR DUES JUST TO BE CALLED RUDE? not worh it. my husband asked to speak with a supervisor and was told by the rep that SHE WILL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO DO THAT" and transferred the call to a voice mail who said the supervisor is out of his office. WHEW!!! WE ARE CUSTOMERS!!!!!!! without customers you cant have contractors, without customers, AMERICAN HOME SHIELD OR IMMEDIATE RESPONSE is just a company name. what happened to CUSTOMER SERVICE?????

The customer service this company gives to their clients does not deserve any stars. Dear Office Manager Diane you need to take a couple of courses on Management skills and communication. I had to call your office 3 times yesterday to get an update on when someone would be coming out. When I called yesterday at 4:00 one she didn’t ask who she was speaking , she indicated in a very rude tone that she was the only one in the office. AKA your office is under staffed and your management skills are por. If you’re telling your customers (this is coming from Amanda) that someone will be there between 10-2 and no one shows up at 2:30 , you bet I’m going to call again to get a follow up. Why because you don’t know how to communicate to your customers. To make a long and frustrating situation short the plumbers didn’t come till 7:00 p.m. and would need to come back today. I had to call the company AGAIN today because the office does not know how to communicate once more. Come to find out they wouldn’t get to me till after 3:00 today (once more from Amanda) Diana called back wouldn’t let me get 2 words in before she ripped me a new one, hung up on me. I called back she tried to rip me a new one once more. Seriously!!! I intend on sending a email to the owner of this company and putting reviews on your business, Why because no one should go through a frustrating situation like this again. The best of luck to your company Bob, if that is the owners real name. That was what was given to me by your employee Amanda
