I have a 1998 Ford Explorer 5.0L SUV that has transmission slipping problems , gear acceleration hesitation, and had recently lost its ability to shift into reverse in a small incident when I was out shopping when I was off. I knew something needed to be done right away. This SUV when it was bought by the original owner brand new was always taken to the dealer for every oil change , repair , etc so it was well taken care of other than my trans going out due to age. I noticed they were recommended for the very same problem . So I called them and got a original quote over the phone from their mechanic for $1,457 for a trans rebuild with labor. I figured that wasnt too bad and especially sense they finance repair bills for very cheap per month. I went ahead and dropped off the SUV without a appointment I do admit and they seemed to be pretty slammed. I gave them the keys and was dropped back off by their shuttle car . I was originally given a estimate of 3-4 days from start to finish for the rebuild. When I called the next day I was told they were test driving it and that they would know something when the late afternoon comes around. I wasnt in a big hurry other than glad they started on my SUV. I called the next day during my lunch break to check on Semmy (my explorers name lol) and they told me that they claim they didnt find anything wrong with the trans other than the shifter being a click off which I already knew. Then I was told I needed a tune up and that the problem was it was misfiring badly from what the guy told me but the difference between me and other customers is that I work on that SUV and my other car all the time and it didnt need a tune up and a couple of other things done in which I was quoted $975.00 . I told them no right away and why cant they just do what I wanted them to do and he said ok we will get started on that for you. So I denied their suggestion and told them to start on my rebuild. They said to just check in tomorrow , which I did. The next afternoon lunch break they were only just starting to tear down the trans to fully inspect it. So I told them ok and that I will just check in the next day. Well the next afternoon they told me it needed the trans job and it needed a few more parts for the trans that the original quote didnt include. It also needed a new torque converter and solenoids for the trans, in which my original estimate jumped to $1,975.00 out the door price. I was slightly taken back and kind of disgusted that the original trans job didnt include these parts which are part of the trans you know? But I went ahead and authorized them to do it. It took about 3-4 days more to do the job and they said it will include a 12 month warranty with two week check up . They also promised to fix the shift indicator too in which they still havent but I will just do it myself thanks to YouTube and Chrisfix. As far as after the job , my SUV is perfectly fine and now I feel safer driving it. I financed $1000 of the bill and paid the difference with cash. I pay about $43 a month

The Clutch on my sons Honda Civic went out, I bought new clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing and we called Sgt clutch for a quote on installing the parts, and resurfacing the fly wheel. We arranged for them to pick up the car, which we were charged for, even though their website says free towing with repair, and waited, 8 days, 8 days for a clutch job, which were told would take one to two days, every day after the two to three days we would call and only be told one more day, one more day, one more day...for again, a total of 8 days, 8 days of rental car payments, and to top it off, they were rude about it. ...finally get the car back, and its making noises it never made before....took it to another mechanic and was told the throw out bearing was put in wrong. I call Sgt Clutch and was told to take it back...after having it for 2 more days, was told nothing was wrong...and they wouldnt look into it any further since we brought in our own parts, which was never explained that bringing in our own parts would be any kind of issue. To make matters worse, they undid some wiring under the dash and did not reinstall the wiring, the radio was on a Spanish channel my son doesnt listen to, and gas tank was on empty when had half a tank, as verified by another source that was in the car just the day before it was towed. I should of looked around and found someone else....and listened to all the negative reviews on the Internet and the BBB. BEWARE of this place....the financing company was awesome, no problems, and should of looked into other shops they finance through. Thanks for nothing Sgt clutch. Since Google does not give a chance for response after business puts in their two cents in, I will add here.....The car was picked up the very next day after the shop was called, not SEVERAL days, and you still do not explain the reason why we were told several times that the car would be ready the next day, apparently after reading other reviews this is an issue, and always with an excuse. And please do not insult me about the parts that I purchased, I purchased recommended parts, not cheap parts from some unknown place. And yes, a throw out bearing can be replaced backwards, very easily, just because I am female, doesnt mean I do not know. We will be taking the car to another mechanic, and will be getting a report of the issue!!!!!

I am posting this about sergeant clutch daughter took my grandsons car 1997 Mitsubishi Galante actually it was towed there. From July 16th thru July 29 they had this vehicle. They did a tune up plugs wires dist. Cap, rotor pvc valve fuel filter no mention of air filter $447.50 transmission fluid filter service $204.33 front wheel hub replacement no mention of bearings $514.96, 2 belts $25.96 and 26.58. Ok now the kicker is they thought we were gonna finance this work that they never gave prices of so since my daughter was approved for about $2000.00 they jacked up the prices for these repairs. When told car was ready I almost died when I found out total $1558.44. Labor alone was $1477.66 parts $204.33 supply charge $39.95. I am going to take them to court they messing with the wrong one. I made a random call to get quotes on all this work they claim they did and got a lot lower prices quoted just today. By the way car still runs crappy After doing my do diligence I went there told one of the managers you ripped us off and he was trying to back peddle and give me lame explanations. I am so gonna seek legal action long story short dont use these people they arent right or reputable but they stay with cars I guess from unsuspecting customers like us. Dont use them just Google them or YouTube them which we should have done and see what people say about them. They havent seen or heard the last of me. I pay for what I want like I told the so called manager but I be damn if you gonna take from me like this. I guess if they dont make good on this bill which we paid to get the vehicle back to court we go. Im sure you say why did we let them do work for those prices well we were just told what needed to be done not the cost till after the fact but what they needed to fix real major stuff they didnt like motor mounts, driver side strut and leaking oil pan they mentioned these things under mechanic notes imagine that.
