This business is a RIP OFF I quote the owner “This is America were just trying to make money”. I have a 1989 Crown Victoria that hesitates, so I took it to spitfire for the 45 dollar diagnostic test. It soon became 125 dollars because they said it had a sort, however my time there they did not even touch my car; they just hooked up the computer. This expensive fix did not even fix the hesitation if they fixed anything at all. They then told me it’s the Timing Chain which they would replace for $460. I replaced it myself for $100, including the new belts, radiator hose, and thermostat that looked bad. I take it back because the car is still hesitating only for them to guess it’s the valves without even doing a compression check. The compression gage cost me 26 bucks and the compression readings were 130 pounds so it was not the valves. They then tell me it’s the coil, and the throttle position sensor. Again that was not the problem and I wasted money on parts that I did not need. I then ask him “why are you telling me things that are not wrong with the car” and then he replies “understand were just trying to make money its America”. Well I don’t understand, and I in the Air Force did not appreciate Spitfire playing with my money. Others that don’t know that much about cars beware of scams like this one. When I was there they always told people that came in the same thing, “We need to check the sensors and if it has a short somewhere the price goes up”. They even wanted me to leave my car their which I did not because I wanted to see what they did that cost so much. In that time I would see some cars that people brought in leave with the mechanic for two-three hours.

After discussing my requirements with technicians, it was clear that they were ready and able to perform the tasks. They then directed me toward the owner for a price estimate. The owner notified me that the services I require cannot be performed at his shop because his technicians are unfamiliar with that type of work. He then suggests I seek a dealership for repairs. I explained that his technicians assured me they could perform the job right. After a brief argument about what his technicians were capable or not capable of doing my dirt-bag radar began to chime. He quoted me twice what the standard price for that type of service normally costs. At that time I asked myself why am I so eager to give this guy my business when he either clearly does not want it or is trying to play some price-gouging game. I told him I did not want to argue him for my business and bid him a good day. Either the owner of the I H 35 S store is so overwhelmed with customers that he must turn some away with this kind of nonsense. Or, he plays the “Well, I normally don’t do that labor. But if I do, it will cost you twice as much.” game. Whichever the case, he must be raking in the cash gambling with his clientele.

I went to Spit fire on Saturday 8/27/2016 after me having to call them several times they tell me my car needs 2 replacement coils and the ignition control module which I knew was a lie because the coils had just been replaced on Thursday and then I was going to have another mechanic replace the Ignition control module and he said after it being tested over 10 times that this part wasnt bad either. He suggested it could be an electrical problem so I decided to try them since the diagnostic was $45 but in turn was going to cost me $518.00 for something that wouldnt have fixed my problem. I took my car to have friends cousin which after speaking with him states he used to work for this place and they are scam artist that is the reason he no longer worked there. I dont recommend anyone goes to this place. RIP OFF

I took in a 1995 jeep Cherokee a few days ago after months of not being able to figure the problem & less than 3 days later they called with an answer. The service was nice & respectful, kept me updated & guaranteed I could drive off safe. I havent gotten the chance to test drive but when I got home and turned the engine off it shut off like it should as opposed to before, when I would take the key out the engine would hesitate and stay on for a few seconds later when it shouldve shut off immediately. Knowing this problem was tied in or contributed to the reason I took it in I feel assured that they took care of it well & feel safe driving it for once.

This establishement, sounds good at first. They give you one price for the work. But dont explain during the process of your vehicle or even update you before the repair is being made. They expect the customer to cough up the money from out there was to pay for the despair. This place is a scam. I expected to pay less than what I paid. I have a family to feed and I know he does also, but he takes advantage of the customer..so be carefull when leaving your vehicle at this place, you may loose it if you cant pay the bill.....take the vehicle somewhere else...

Took my 95 Jeep Wrangler that was having issues with gauges on the instrument panel not working. Lonestar Jeep said I needed a new fuse box which they no longer carry for this vehicle. Spitfire was able to repair without replacing anything. Took it back 2 days later for a minor issue with turn signal and speedometer and they honored the warranty with no problem. Will definitely take my vehicle back to Spitfire for other work as needed.

My car had some electrical problems. The lights were dimming and the windows were rolling down slowly. Spitfire quickly identified the problem and had me back in my vehicle in a very short time. Definitely the best auto electrical mechanics in san Antonio.

So disappointed, I went in to go get something repaired on my vehicle and they turned me down on the account that my trailer was too long to work on... Then why did you recommend I bring the truck and trailer???

I had a free ac check with coupon, and got a $1000.00 estimate. That is outrageous.
