This place is ridiculous! I honestly dont understand how a place so unprofessional could stay in business for so long??? The owners are some of the rudest people and they act as though they know everything about the car world and they try and scam the little guy. I unfortunately had to get my Volkswagen Worked due to issues with the engine. I took my car in and it took them 3 days to give me a diagnostic for what was wrong. By the third day, I decided to take it to somebody else since they had no clue what they were doing. Come to find out, they near destroyed my entire engine and the car now wouldnt start. I luckily called the VW dealer for assistance and they floatted the bill, however, Farmington Towing wanted to charge me $300 for time spent in the shop not to mention a towing fee to take it up to the VW dealer. I was astonished!!! I told Farmington Towing they were beyond unprofessional and the owner (Ken Whalstrom) told me I was an idiot and that I would pay no matter!!! Luckily, I threatened to sue for damages and lets just say they backed down quicker than a blink of an eye. I would never recommend this company to anyone!!! To reitterate the comments of cROB, T SCOTT, & J when I say they treat you like dirt and this is a horrible establishment!

My brother in law borrowed my sons 99 Honda Civic and it broke down on I-15 on the way to his work in Draper. He called me and I got on Google to find a towing company that could go pick him up. I found Farmington Towing and called around 8:30 am on a Monday morning and Ken answered. He was pleasant and helpful (considering at that point I wasnt even 100% sure where my car was exactly) and I made arrangements for the car to be towed to Ogden. Within 40 minutes they had picked up my car and brought it to where it needed to be. The follow-up I requested was done in a timely manner and they emailed me a copy of the bill to send to my insurance for reimbursement. The cost was fair and the service seemed to be friendly and professional. I would use them again as it made a difficult situation easier to deal with. Thanks! Becca Jensen

We have always been really please with the service provided by these guys until this week. We have a 12 Chevy Cruz and we brought it in because the engine light was on. They said that we needed to replace the PCV cover and the PCV pipe. The quote included about $170 worth of parts and 2.5 hours of work at $100/hr. Not wanting to spend $420, I decided to give it a whirl myself. I bought the parts at $140 from the dealership. With a few standard tools, I was able to repair it in an hour. I dont fix cars very often, so it seems a bit odd to me that it would take the service shop 2.5 hours when it took me only 1 hour. Needless to say, I am not happy that they wanted to charge me $420 when it should have cost something to the tune of $240 if they were paying a guy like me to do it.

These guys are great and I would recommend them to anyone. They have fast service, an honest and straight-forward staff, and they really never try to up-sell services. They also make sure that if you have an appointment, you actually get priority over those that dont. (This is a huge plus in my opinion as other repair shops just seem to put you at the bottom of their queue when you show up, making the term appointment obsolete). One of the things I like most about Farmington Service is how they leverage technology for customer service & interaction. You can email them with any questions and get a timely response, set up appointments online, and get subscribe to their emails that often come w/ discounts. Very cool!

I bought a coupon book from them since they were close to where I lived and it seemed like a good deal. What I didnt realize was how horrible their customer service would be! Each time I tried to make an appointment they would treat me like I was second class because I was using the coupons they sold me! Also - it was impossible to set a good appointment because theyd refuse to set anything after 5pm and I work until 5pm every day. Finally, the coupon expired and a few weeks later I ask if theyll still honor it since I paid so much money for it and they refused to honor it. I would NOT recommend this shop to anyone. They treat you like dirt.

Went in for a car pre purchase inspection and safety and emissions. They told be a few things to check out before I get the car like changing transmission fluid. I got home thinking everything else was fine with the car then. As I took a closer look, I noticed I had NO AC BELT. It was just not there, and farmington service didnt mention that at all to me. HOW is that possible? For someone like me to notice that, when this shop I paid to check out the car for me doesnt even mention it. I just dont trust them now. Josh at the front desk was friendly so I gave 2 stars instead of one.

I have been going to Ken Garff GMC in Riverdale for years thinking I was being taken care of by their service department. I recently went in because my check engine light came on. I was told I needed a new engine and that it would cost over $8000 for a 07 Acadia because I had a dead piston in cylinder 6. I got a 2nd opinion from Farmington Service & Towing and man Im glad I did. All my Acadia needed new spark plugs & coils. I went back to Ken Garff and they where shocked because this was diagnosed by their best tech? I have to say the guys at Farmington Service have my business for life.

Wow, I wish I could describe to you in person how awesome this company and the men who work there are. Josh in particular is not only amiable and genuis at cars, but very patient in explaining car terminology in laymans terms for those of us who know very little about mechanics. Ive been going to these guys for almost five years. It was such a blessing to stumble accross mechanics with fantastic customer service skills and completely trust worthy character. As long as I live in this area Ill never go anywhere else. Go there!!!

I went to Pep Boys for inspections and was told it would take about $420 for me to pass safety and gave me advisory items that would cost about $700. I told a friend about it, and she recommended I bring my car here to get a second opinion because they are honest and trustworthy. Man, was she right! Josh looked at my car again and showed me what actually needed to be repaired. I got out the door spending less than $200! I live in Ogden, but its worth the drive to come here. I dont think Ill take my car anywhere else. Thanks!
