If you value your time and sanity do not go to this master muffler. Recently I took both my cars to have the inspection and emissions done and also an alignment on one. They told me they could get both cars in right away which was not the case. 4 hours later my car was still sitting there. They have never set a proper expectation of time which is an extreme inconvenience for me. Finally I got both cars back and the alignment was worse than before on the one car. So I took it back the next day. They aligned the car and again and still it was worse so I gave up and took it somewhere else. The alignment was done no problem. Next instance was when I bought new wheels and tires for my car. I took them 4 new wheels and 2 new tires. They said they could get it right in, which again was not the case, I planned my day around them being able to get it done. It took them 5 hours to mount and balance 4 tires. This would have taken any competent shop an hour at the most. I called after 3 hours and asked for an update and was told "well get to it man, youll have to give us time unless you want your wheels scratched" This was said with quite the attitude. After getting the wheels back I noticed they managed to scratch 3 of the 4 brand new wheels. After my first instance with them going wrong I thought id give them another chance. I should have known better. Bottom line- the service I received was untimely, improper expectations were given multiple times, and I was treated horribly when trying to get a status update after 3 hours of waiting. Never again.

HONESTY FAIRNESS HELPFUL I just took the time to read through every review and cant understand how anyone could rate them negatively. Some people need to come to Earth. Tyler earned my trust and my continued business a few years ago when he quoted some in-depth work at a fraction of what other shops wanted (and I scoured the valley). Turns out, my vehicle didnt want to cooperate with them and it was more work than we had bargained for. Regardless, he honored his quote and got my disabled vehicle humming again. Weve had several repairs that didnt go as planned and they remained steadfast with the original quote each time. Both of my vehicles are well worn (200k+) and present interesting new issues every year. Tyler and crew toil relentlessly to keep me rolling and their rates cant be beaten. They probably groan under their breath when they see one of my cars limp into their lot, but they still take good care of me and somehow breathe new life into cars that probably should have been scrapped years ago. They know Im on a tight budget and always check before doing unplanned work. Again, their prices are unmatched and their service is top notch. They actually repair things; theyre not glorified part swappers with ASE patches. Im getting long-winded, but I truly cant say enough about these guys. No, Im not affiliated with them personally or professionally. They will have my business as long as Im driving. Keep up the good work, guys. Im sure youll see me soon (Saturday? LOL ). Im happy to put my name on this review. People need to know.

I was finishing a Saturday afternoon with a friend when we pulled into her driveway and we both heard grinding metal from the brakes! It was 3 oclock, and I thought everywhere was closed. I looked up places on my computer that had good ratings for honest service and doing a good job. I found Master Muffler and Brake at 1795 N State in Orem. I called them thinking a recording would let me know when they opened on Monday but instead Ron answered. I told him the problem. He said they were pretty full and probably couldnt get to my car, but he said to bring it over and they would see what they could do. I did and yes, I sat there until five thinking of how I would get home...would my brakes fail??? Close to five, another gentleman told me the pads were nearly gone. He gave me a price to fix the problem that I thought was fair. I said that would be great, thinking he was going to say to bring back the car on Monday, but he said, "Okay, well get this taken care of in about 45 minutes." They were staying after closing to fix my car so I wouldnt worry about it. "Thank You" guys at Master Muffler for putting this old bird at ease. As I drove home, I had the window down listening, but there wasnt a peep when I put on my brakes. Yeee-Haaa!

We happened on Master Muffler by chance after the KIA dealership insisted we needed new catalytic converters. I found a coupon in the mail and took my car there to get an estimate on said repair. No surprise, the catalytic converters were fine, we simply needed the manufacturer recommended spark plugs and a new coil. A significantly less expensive repair. We have been so impressed with their knowledge of cars (you talk right to a mechanic at the desk) and honesty! Which is so refreshing!!! The owner even gave us a ride home one day, back when we only had one car. They are now our primary mechanic for anything we need on either of our cars from easy safety/emissions to air condition repair and now an evasive electrical problem that has the dealer stumped. I recommend them to all my family and friends. The lobby is also kid friendly!

Ive taken my car here a couple times. I think they do a great job communicating the issues on the car. I appreciate the line item break downs for each component of the work. This has allowed me to recognize what I can/want to fix in my own garage saving a little bit of money. Ive always felt the pricing was fair and never any hidden charges. Theyve never once come to me and said something like "oh yeah, we found this and had to fix it too" or anything like that. Ive also never had to go back to have them correct something that they worked on. I would give them 5 stars, but the repairs went on longer than expected. Also there were visible marks on the body around and above the wheel well from grease and their work. These marks obviously came off, but I think its something they couldve wiped down.

I went to the shop to get the flex pipe replaced on my exhaust system, which they quoted at about $100. This is what I expected for this type of work, and I needed it to be completed to pass inspection. After spending an hour in the shop, they came back out and said I needed a new exhaust manifold as well. that with labor and the flex pipe would cost me $750. No way. a quick online search found me the part for approximately $200 when they wanted to charge me $500. On top of that no one even looked at the exhaust manifold. After refusing the service and going home, I took the heat shield off of the manifold to find that the bolts were still rusted in place. There was no basis for me to have to replace the manifold. They tried to jerk me around and I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone.
