I have lived in Utah for a year and a half now and have hated every cut Ive recieved from each salon Ive been to. I feel like all Utah knows how to do is the "soccor mom" cut. I know that may sound harsh or sterotypical - maybe Ive just had bad stylists - but that has been my experience so far. I finally needed my hair cut so badly that I didnt really care at that point where I went so I looked online and found that Aspen was a top rated salon in 2009. I made an appointment with Kinsley, and now I will never look back. The salon is quaint, no flash and very little dazzle. Just clean and pristine. But with the service and skill they posses, they need little else. Kinsley is very young, but not new to the industry, and her knowledge of hair and how it works, what works together, and what looks good with what hair types was astounding. She gave the best client consultation Ive ever recieved, making sure to understand exactly what it was I wanted, hearing me out before she gave her opinion, and then telling me what she was going to do before she did it to make sure we were on the same page. We were. She gave me the best cut AND the most amazing color Ive had since living in Utah. Maybe that Ive had ever. Lofty claim, but it stands. She continued to ask me if I liked what she was doing throughout the entire cut, ensuring that she gave me what I came in for. It may be the first time in my life Ive gotten EXACTLY what I asked for. And I loved it. I was beyond pleased, and impressed not only with her skill but her professionalism and personality. And did I mention that she did the whole thing with a recently broken foot? The poor thing was in so much pain and could have just rushed it to get me out of there so she could go home and get off her feet (I was her last client) but she powered through and made herself a customer for life. I went in to get a haircut that I thought was pretty simple. Bangs and layers. I came out with bangs above my freaking eyebrows and my layers looked like I let my 6 year old sister cut my hair. On the left side of my face it looks like someone took a huge cut out of my hair. Its at least 6 inches ABOVE my next layer. What the hell?!?! I came home crying to my husband because it looks awful. I showed this lady a picture of the kind of haircut I wanted at least 6 different times. I wish I could show you a picture of my hair and the picture of the hair I wanted. Not even remotely the same. I wanted bangs below my eyes. How can you cut them above my eyebrows?! I also have noticed that my hair is considerably thinner then it used to be. I bet this is because the lady butchered my hair when she did the layers. And last but not least...my hair is falling out by the handfulls. I dont know what the hell they put in my hair but this is absolutely ridiculous. I am so mad. If there is one thing I can tell you it would be to pick a completely different place. This place is terrible. I gave it two stars because the place was really nice and they have great products. Other than that it sucked.

Heather Call does an Incredible job!!!!! She highlights my hair and waxes my eyebrows. I have really thick hair and she can highlight it, wash it out, and blow dry and style it in an hour and a half! Its so nice that I dont have to spend half my day at a salon in order to have the hair color I want. I can go in, and be all freshly colored and styled then carry on with my day! She also is amazing when it comes to cutting. She has long hair and understands what a trim is! When you tell her to take a half an inch thats what you get, shes never cut my hair shorter than I want...which is sometimes hard to find a stylist like that. The wax job is always quick and I leave feeling feminine again, since sometimes my eyebrows are very overgrown and hairy its always nice to leave feeling groomed again. :D Scheduling with Heather is also very convenient as shes willing to do nights and weekends, for anyone like me who works all day this is amazing!!!! Heather is fun to talk to and she is amazing at what she does! If you want a fabulous new look in a short amount of time she is definitely the stylist to contact!!!!!

This is a review for the amazing haircut I got from Mackenzie, whom by the way is INCREDIBLE at doing what she does! I can ramble on and on about how I enjoyed the service I received, but Ill try to keep it short. I normally havent a clue about what to do with my hair, and unfortunately this was one of those days. I had moved from Southern California where I had spent 10 years of my life going to a salon and letting them do all the work, so when I moved out here to Utah I had NO idea where to get a great haircut that would understand my issue of having no idea what I normally get. Mackenzie took that challenge and guided me through what I think is a fantastic cut, meeting my every question and request along the way. Whats more surprising to me is how thorough she was with it, she didnt simply cut, wash and call it a day. She went ALL OUT and made SURE that the cut not only met my needs, but was of a "perfectionist" standard. Overall, this is an amazing salon and I will definitely be returning here! -Jesse

Hi this is Raquel at Aspen Salon! Cynmar Im sorry you feel like you had a bad experience. My number one goal is it make sure I always put the client first and take top priority with each person who sits in my chair. I explained during our consultation that because you used box color, I couldnt promise the color you wanted as the first result because of the unpredictable variables in store bought box color. But with subsequent appointments we could achieve that true color while keeping the integrity of your hair. I always strive to give my clients the upmost respect and I apologize for any poor service you feel like you received. Based on our conversation after your appointment I was under the impression you were completely satisfied with your hair. If any of my clients feel like they did not receive the exact service they paid for, I will fix it free of charge up to a week after their original visit. I appreciate your feedback and am sorry for the misunderstanding.

Ive been having my hair done by the always pleasant Jamie Snelson for over 10 years and make appointments with her not just for the next haircut, but for the one beyond that! She listens to what I would like, looks at pictures I bring for examples and makes great observations as to what would work with my hair or not. I trust her completely - and how many people can you say that about !!?? She takes great care and time in my haircuts and makes them fit my face and lifestyle. They are perfection! She knows the latest in how to do the best cuts and styles and keeps her skills up by continuing to take specialized classes. I never feel pressured to buy extra products and services but often purchase the products she uses because they are so effective with my hairstyles. I feel like shes my friend along with being my hair stylist. I would recommend her to anyone, and often do!
