Absolutely horrible customer service. My hot water heater failed; I went to Home Depot website, was hoping to buy a replacement through HD and have one of their preferred vendors install it. HD in turn referred me to Fairfax Electric Plumbing Gas as a preferred vendor. I called them, described the problem, read off the model / serial number of my failed water heater. Customer service at Fairfax EPG said they did not see that model in stock, but would get back to me "soon" with a comparable model / cost / time to install. An hour later I called back to see what the timeline on the estimate was. A different customer service rep said, "We need the pictures and measurements". Apparently I was supposed to email pictures and measurements, but first customer service rep had said nothing about this. So I told second customer service rep, okay, I can do that, but once I send the pictures and measurements in, please respond via email or phone to let me know you got them. So I took pictures and measurements, emailed them in, and waited for confirmation of receipt. Heard nothing. Called back in an hour later, and customer service rep said, yeah, we got them. I asked when could I expect an estimate for the work. She said in a couple of hours. That was three days ago. Needless to say, I went with a different vendor.

Today I had Fairfax EWP come in to replace a water heater. I had a very complicated and tight spot the water heater was going in, not to mention a house that is 40 years old I expected problems but received none. They did have to add $90 for a valve outside of my quoted price but still cheaper than three other companies Ive received quotes from. There are a few things things I felt they could have done better. One, I would have preferred a written quote (email would have been OK) vrs verbal. Although I probably could have requested it but never bothered. I would have preferred to receive some sort of receipt immediately after the work done. I was told something will be emailed to me later when the office processes the payment. The guys who did the install were very curtious, quick, yet effecient. They probably should have stuck around to ensure the unit was doing its job but I understand why they didnt. Im just thankful I can finally get a hot shower and didnt break the bank to get it. For what I paid they did a darn good job and were very responsive to my inquirys.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I had them come out and replace a water heater in September, yet while replaced the water heater they broke a shut off valve for my whole house humidifier, that they had to take offer to replace the water heater. Looks like they tried to hook it back up, yet ended up stripping the screws so the valve didnt open up the main water line. Turned on the humidifier the other day to find that the water wasnt hooked up any longer so I called and talked to Stephanie, that advised me that she talked to the owner and that they would have to charge me an additional $90.00 to come out and fix this valve. The valve they broke is sold at Lowes $9.00 - that is only a 1000% mark up on a valve they broke - I glad they didnt break something that was expensive.

Very good job with the replacing of my water heater. What I did not expect was a 500.00 dollar uplift in installation costs. With the amount of phone calls and photos I sent in prior I think my quote should have reflected this BEFORE the installation. Also the technicians did not after installation wait for the water to heat up and check all of my lines prior to leaving, I had to bleed off all of the water faucets in my home after the water heated up. Next time I will request an on-site inspection for a quote and estimate being in the middle is not what I want. Also they should have left business cards with me prior to leaving. Overall I grade them a C

I had Fairfax Electric Plumbing-Gas out today to install a new hot water heater purchased through Home Depot. Colin and his team member came out and were on-time, professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. They spent time explaining what they were going to do, how they were going to do, and advised me of everything. They answered all the questions I had and provided suggestions on non hot water related items that I asked about (plumbing specific). Far exceeded my expectations and will look to use them again in the future.

I had these guys install a water heater for me recently. Very good work and fair pricing. The office can do a lot of the quoting/design work over email (sending them pictures, etc) so you dont have to deal with multiple site visits. Very good communication.
