THIS PLACE IS THE EMBODYMENT OF THE TYPICAL DISHONEST MECHANIC / CON-ARTIST. DONT BE FOOLED BY THE FACADE. Took in my Ford Explorer for a check engine light, emissions inspection, then a safety inspection IN THAT ORDER since you cannot pass emissions when there is a check engine light. They said two hours for the diagnostic and theyll charge 85 bucks just for the diagnostic. They said theyd call when the diagnostic is done. Three hours later in which I had to call THEM twice, the guy (some counter guy paid to lie to you who probably works on some kind of commission) says there are 7-9 things wrong. I had already had the codes checked at another shop earlier in the day, and there were three codes. When I tell him this, his story changes to 5-7 things, and they want to do more diagnostics for another $85-$171! He starts rambling "mechanic speak" about how the codes dont add up, and he wants to pull out the cars computer for a pin out test. If it is the computer, it would be $800 to $1200 for parts and labor. So at this point I decide I want my car back, and I do not want this additional diagnostic for another $85 - $171 since I already have to pay $85 just to find out basically NOTHING! So then the guy says he failed my safety inspection because fog lights are out, and they charge $93 bucks to replace the fog lights for each fog light!!!! We had not even completed the diagnostic, but they proceeded to perform the safety inspection without my authorization, and already put a rejection sticker on my car!!! So either I drive around with a failed inspection sticker or fork over cash for a job I didnt authorize yet. When I tell him this, he makes a procedural excuse like some stupid bureaucrat that the job was on the ticket. I am reporting this to the BBB also. AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU DONT WANT TO GET ROBBED!

I brought my Expedition in a few months ago and the mechanic said my differential needed fluid and it was dirty. He added the fluid and cleaned it he said. He also said if it still made noise I could be looking at a 1800.00 fix. I left and it sounded and drove much better. After a couple months the sound came back. I took it in to be looked at. A gentleman called me back and said it seemed to be the differential and I was looking at an expensive fix. I mentioned to him maybe a used differential could be used.He said he would price the estimate out and call me back. He did call me back and said the used differential would be 2100.00 and the 4 rusted bars would be another cost as well as the labor costs. He said I was looking at a very expensive fix upwards to 3000.00. In the mean time I priced out a used differential at 650.00. When I picked up my car I saw on the paper the used differential their cost was only 750.00. I paid 22.00 for the test drive and left with my car. First and for most without taking a differental appart and draining the fluid how could the mechanic really tell it was the differential? I feel I as lied to and over priced so they didnt have to fix my car. I just dont understand why Virginia Tire and Auto just didnt tell me they really wernt eqquiped to fix a big job like that. I would have completely understood!!!! But to be lied to and given the run around was unnessary and very dissapointing on a bussines behalf. Never before have I had a desire to confront nor complain about a business. I will this time!! Not only will I post on yelp AND call the BBB but also social media. I will make it a point to shout from a roof top of the very dissapointing service I received and all Virginia Tire and Auto had to do was be honest from the beginning. Donna Najibi

This place used to be pretty good. However as they have grown in last couple years customer service and quality has gone down hill big time. Managers are often impatient with customers. When they have done repairs on my car often it didnt fix the problems that existed or it was inappropriate repair. I have a lot of old cars and used to bring my cars there all the time. Now I sometimes bring my car there if absolutely necessary but I avoid it if possible. Believe it or not, I would actually choose the dealership over this place now. I never thought I would say that. Once they took care of a rattling heat shield by ripping it off. The same one that prevents the car from catching on fire when you park on top of leaves. If I had wanted that done I could have done it myself. ---------- Follow up to the above post ----------- So I decided to give this place another try. Big mistake!!! In my recent visit to get a fuel pump replaced, after I drove away from the place fuel leaked all over the road on my way out to dinner that night. Had to rush back to the place and miss dinner. Then the next day when they promised to pick me up, they were 45 min late. When I picked up my car, they had put the old fuel pump in my car leaving a strong smell of gas in the car, which IS EXACTLY WHAT I TOLD THEM NOT TO DO. To top it all off, they said they would take a look at my emergency break at no charge to see why it was sticking. When I paid my bill they had charged me 110$ for the e-break diagnosis, and they didnt even fix it. Overall I would not recommend this place. Customer service and competence is seriously lacking. Im not surprised the fuel pump installation was faulty based on all the other signs. Should have known better.

This is a nice clean facility but their customer service is terrible. When I called the sales person told me that he only has 2 cars ahead of me. After I arrived and him taking all my info and pulling my car to the garage he told me it will be 1hr to 1 1/2 hrs. I said I was told 30 minutes max. He said he didnt know he had so much backlog. I hesitated and said I will wait. Then I told him I have my own oil and filter in the trunk which he said is fine. I asked him to check the tire air pressure because the indicator was on to which he said it is all part of the routine check list. So I said OK and sat in the waiting area. After waiting for about 70 minutes or so all customers who came after me were all set and left the facility. So I was curious and asked how much more time they will keep me waiting. At this point I can see my car parked not in the designated parking area but in the midle of the driveway as if to exit the facility. The salesman said he doesnt have the ticket for it and went to the back. He came back out and went outside to the car. Then he came back again and looked in a pile of tickets and pulled out mine. He told me I missed my call because I stepped out of the facility...which was not true. Long story short...I paid and got out of that place. Guess what...they didnt use my oil and filter as I instructed. The tire pressure light was still on. The vehicle conditions report has everything marked as "pass". Whoever owns this place should re-evaluate this customer service issue. Not good to see their 40 years of good service which they claim and posted everywhere in the store go down the drain due to silly things like this. Have no intention of ever going back to this place again.
