Dropped my Jeep off Friday before noon for an AC issue. Received a call about 2 hours later and was told it was a leak in the high pressure line and given an estimate of $500 to fix. They may be able to get the part in that day, if not it will be on the evening truck and repaired Saturday morning. Near the end of the day (Friday) I called to find out what was going on...no part yet, but the truck was late, so first thing in the morning. Saturday morning I call a couple of hours after opening to see when I would be able to pick up the Jeep. The part was not on the truck, so they would get on the next one. Waited until Sunday morning to call, still no part, but this time no status on when it would be available. I told them I need the Jeep for work and would be in to pick it up. Get there and 4th in line, after about 15 minutes in line it is my turn. The asst manager gives me my keys and no charge. I go to the Jeep and notice the driver side window is down, after a quick overview I notice nothing is missing. After I get home I notice my leg is a damp and there is standing water in the door handle. Looks like my window has been down since they first serviced it on Friday. Now I have a great musty smell and no AC. I have no plans to ever take another vehicle to this establishment again. ****************************************Update********************************************** The service manager contacted me about my experience and wanted to make things right. He made me a reasonable offer to repair my Jeep and I was still pressed for time, so I took him up on it. Dropped the Jeep off around 1200, received a text message and phone call about 2.5 hours later. The part was replaced and the AC system recharged blowing cold air. I brought it home and ran the freon tester over the system and detected no leaks. Hooked the gauges up to the system and low-side was find at about 33psi. The original issue was a slow leak that took about a week to fully discharge, so I guess next week I will know for sure if it was fully repaired.

DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE FOR SERVICE. GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE. literally the worst place you could possibly get service done to your car. Usually I get service done to my car at a privately owned establishment but because my car broke down and pepboys offers to tow for $20, I thought "what the hay?" and went with them. Worst decision ever. For about 45 minutes of actual labor performed to my car, I had to pay for an hour and a half. I was waiting for my car to be ready for almost 4 and a half hours and was repeatedly promised it was my turn to be serviced. when they finally got to my car, THEY DID THE SERVICE OUTSIDE. ARE YOU KIDDING ME PEPBOYS?!?!?!?!?! that is what I expect from a craigslist mechanic. Not a shop. I asked my mechanic how much they would charge me for the work pepboys did and they said about $90. PEPBOYS CHARGED ME $250 FOR $90 worth of work. NEVER BRING YOUR CAR HERE. the employees are trash. I was standing in front of 3 employees, waiting to ask them a question, while they were checking out a customers rear end (yes, her butt). while they were working on my car, OUTSIDE, I saw a tech sit on my car. the best thing this pepboys is good for is buying soap to wash your car. everything else they do is a sham. I REPEAT, DO NOT EVER BRING YOUR CAR HERE. THEY ARE A BUNCH OF SCAM ARTISTS.

I saw that I can save $ as they had a promotion on tires so did everything online and simply showed up for the appointment. I had extremely low expectations due to reading the reviews up front and simply taking a bet going there. I didnt rely on any advise or anything, showed up before 15 minutes before the appointment (same day purchase) and was out in approx 2 hours for changing all 4 tires. If you can get past the front office, the mechanics are not bad and I found their attitude towards work was good. I had an issue where the tow truck driver had misplaced the wrench for the spare hookup and my interaction with the mechanic started which was totally different than the ones at front desk. The front desk employees need training and attention from management but were all good people, you cant blame a bunch of young people thrown behind a desk to know how to treat people. In summary, front desk, lack emotion or appear to care about anything which points to bad management, ownership, but the back, mechanics were passionate about their work - always a good sign to have employees like that. I give 4 stars just b/c I had a chance to deal with the back people...front, needs attention - 3 stars or less.

I used to be a real believer in Pep Boys and sent numerous people to the Pep Boys in Manassas, VA to get work done. However, I recently had an experience that completely shook my faith in that store. Last February (2011) I purchased a "new" battery for my car for approx. $100. This week (January 9, 2012) I had great difficulty starting my car. I stopped by another car repair business on the way home from work, assuming that once I turned off the car it wouldnt start again. I was told that I had likely purchased a used battery, thinking it was a new one. This was based on the the dates that were on the battery. The mechanic showed me two different dates. One was on the side and the other was on the top of the battery. The dates were several months apart leading him to believe the battery had been recycled. I purchased another battery and am now much wiser. Hopefully I really did purchase a new battery this time. This is a real shame. Before this, I was very pleased with the service I got at Pep Boys.

A normal day I wake up Im trying to use my truck and I noticed, I have two flat tires so I start looking for them its kind of difficult to find those tires so I called Pep Boys and I talk to somebody on the phone and he told me he 4 tire my sizes, I just need 2 tires so I drive all the way over there and I when I get over there they ask me who I talk to, I didnt ask for his name, so a manager came and told me they couldnt help me because they were book,so thats really un professional since I needed to use my truck so he sent me back home and I really think thats wrong because he was the manager he didnt even try to apologize for the mistake that one of his co-workers made, of telling me to go to the store to get two tires installed on my rims because I couldnt drive my truck without 2 tires.... I think that was a very un polite management and supposedly they are very good.. thats my story I am for very upset about it....
