I got an oil change at the Dulles Sears Auto Center on a Sunday. On Tuesday, my check engine light came on while driving on 495 near Springfield. I stopped and checked the dipstick and it was completely dry. Did they forget to replace the oil? The nearest service station (not a Sears) examined and found that the O-ring for the oil filter had not been replaced and more than 2 quarts of oil had leaked out. I made several attempts to call Sears, but apparently their phones were down or they do not answer after 4:30 on Tuesdays. I returned to Sears to discuss the situation and the manager said Oh, the new guy! Well have to have a talk with him. He offered no apologies or any type of incentive to return. He did refund the money I spent at the other service station (a second oil change and diagnostic service) but nothing for the original oil change that caused the issue. I mentioned 1) that I would have to have the engine cleaned/detailed, as it was covered with the oil that spilled out; 2) that it was lucky there wasnt more damage to my engine; and 3) that he should offer some warranty against any future, related engine issues that may come up due to their negligence, but he just sort of stared blankly, ignoring anything else I had to say. I understand that mistakes are sometimes made, but this entire incident could have been handled in a more professional manner.

Have a vacation planned and driving 5 hours out of town, decided at the very last minute that I should get new front tires and an oil change. I selected the tires online and a time that I thought was for installation, unfortunately I misread and it was actually only when I would be able to pick up my tires, even though that was entirely my fault and the fact that I showed up late for my "appointment" the team at Sears Auto Center in Dulles more than accommodated me. Ben, the Customer Service Associate that helped me, was quick and efficient, working quickly through a line of borderline irate customers. He was also very knowledgeable and able to answer all questions I asked. Thuong (Spelling?) was my technician. He was quick and professional, getting to my tires fast and not batting an eye when I requested an oil change at the last minute. He also discovered that I needed an alignment when I wouldnt have known considering there were no outward signs, with his knowledge and intuition he ran a quick alignment check and showed me how far out my alignment really was which is reassuring because of manys typical experience at Jiffy Lube, up-selling what you dont need. This was the best experience I have ever had when taking my car anywhere for service, I will only be taking my car back to Sears Auto on Dulles Town Circle

BUYER BEWARE, I repeat BUYER BEWARE!!! Of all the years I purchased tires and alignments this is by far the WORST Sear Auto Center Ive ever encountered. There is a short young assistant manager with glasses that doesnt have a clue when it comes to customer service. He is very argumentative, turns the story around and blames you the damage his technician did to my car. I ended up taking my car to the dealership that immediately fixed what Sear screwed up. I returned to Sear to settle the damage and get remaining tire, alignment installed and that when this dude went ballistic. Ive never been so offended. Tired of his tit for tat game, I told him to get the store manager on the phone who instructed the assist manager to immediate refund me for the damage. Thank you store manager for getting it right. As for your assistant manager he is not ready for that position, a demotion is in order. There was one other clerk that was very profession the entire time, kept his calm, never once raised his voice, was very polite. He was tall and clean shaving, no beard. I would highly recommend he replace the current assistant manager. Further, I will be following up with the Sears Holding corporate office in Hoffman Estates, IL regarding this situation. Im sure Sears has a zero tolerance for rude behavior.

Went for a routine oil change and wanted to have a code checked because my "Service Engine" light came on a few days ago.... I was greeted by a very nice lady who took my information and told me it would be 30-45 minutes. So I told her I was going to walk around the mall and for her to call me when the work was completed... well, over an hour and a half later I still had no call. When I returned the place was a circus with a huge line of people and over 10 employees walking around spastically. It seems to me that the place is just mismanaged or something. Everyone I spoke to was very nice but no one could explain why my oil change took much longer than expected, why I was never called, and why the service tech never "signed off" on the work. They also said no one checked the code on my car and then suggested I go to the Sears Auto center in Tysons Corner!! It leaves me wondering how long I would have waited before someone contacted me... and it makes me question if the service was ever actually completed on my vehicle. I will stick with Jiffy Lube next time.

This place is horrible. The customer service is atrocious! Ive been here 3 times for lifetime tire work service I bought last year. The technicians move at a snails pace. Waiting in line takes forever. Shame on Sears and the auto center management. There should be dedicated techs for general service, sales, appointments, etc. Instead, everyone seems to be stumbling all over each other. They have NEVER delivered our car when promised. I seem to get the same answer no matter when I call, "Youre next in line." My last time there, I dropped my car at 12:30pm for a 1pm appointment where I was told it would be 2 hours to complete. At 4pm I called and got the, yep you guessed it... "Youre next in line." Despite having purchased the lifetime tire balance, rotate, and alignment I wont be going back. NOT WORTH THE HASSLE. Id like to get some money back but I feel sure it would fall on deaf ears. Having said all that... the work they perform is not of a high quality anyway. Car is never aligned properly and the balance is off. Pi-ti-ful!!!

Went there to install new tires. First day I went there in the afternoon I was told to come next day at 8:00AM. So, I went next day. I was told that it will take around 1.5 hours. I left my car there and when I came 2 hour later my car was standing there. Nobody even checked it out. I went in to ask what is wrong and the person there was insisting that he told me before that it will take not less than 2.5 hours. Understanding that it was useless to argue with that person I asked again how much more time it will take. He said to come in another 1.5 hours. I came exactly after 1.5 hours and saw that they just started servicing my car. So, I went in and told that person that his estimate was wrong again. He told me that I am lucky enough to have my car in by this time. It took them another 2 hours to accomplish that task. Total of 5 hours - more than 3 times of an estimated time. All my day was wasted. I have never thought that replacing tires can take this much of time. Will never go back to that place again.
