This shop is terrible. Had them do timing belt job on my Honda Accord 3.0 and it shredded because it had come off track while I was out on the highway. Needless to say, the engine was ruined and needed to be replaced. Cutshaw put the blame on the parts I supplied despite the fact they probably would have gotten the same exact kit from Carquest. They claimed the parts were faulty and I needed to take it up with Gates. They then charged me another $565 for an hour of diagnoses and to throw on another belt to see if the engine was okay. It ran, but it had a severe misfire in cylinder 4. One of the service managers, Dave, told me if it had failed due to something on their end, they would eat the cost. The other service adviser, Domingo, said I was just out of luck and $1,000.00. I received a report back from Gates and they couldnt find anything wrong with the parts and pretty much said it was installer error. When I removed the ruined motor, the timing belt was trying to slide off track again! Dave had told me, they let one particular tech handle my car because he had the least amount of come-backs and typically does a good job. So does that mean the others are worse? I went ahead and replaced the motor myself because no way I was letting these guys touch my car again. I threw on another timing belt kit from Gates on the new motor and 2 months, 2,000 miles later and checking the belt periodically, its fine and has no indication of it wanting to come off again and runs great. These guys are pretty dishonest and do shoddy work and will try and say anything to cover themselves. I wouldnt trust this shop to replace a headlight bulb. Avoid entirely.

-Hablan español- We are not from the Richmond area and have been ripped off by a couple of different shops since we moved up. It was time for a state inspection and we found Cutshaw on a Saturday morning, and they happened to be open for business. I called and the gentleman said it would be first come, first serve, so we got over as quick as possible. When we arrived, there was another couple queued in front of us. The manager, Domingo, was actually showing them exactly what they had found to be wrong with the car while it was still on the lift. That was an immediate sign that this business is genuine. Come to find out, the problem was even passable for inspection - he was showing them the problem so they would have the option to fix it. After they were on their way, they rolled our Maxima into the bay and we chatted with Domingo while he got our information and another mechanic inspected the car. You can even watch if you like, as the office has a window that looks out into the inspection bay. They thoroughly checked one of the tires for any punctures as it was low, and were honest when they didnt find any. Domingo was unsure if a certain problem on the car would pass, and he checked the book right in front of us - it was passable. To top it off, he admitted the problem was an easy fix and we could do it at home on the cheap! Bottom line: Friendly staff, honest work. Highly recommended, we will be returning.

I took my car to Cutshaw Auto for the first time last Saturday to have it inspected and get an oil change. Domingo was extremely friendly and professional, as well as very thorough when explaining the cost. As I waited there for my car to be serviced, the owner of the business, Roger, stopped by. He introduced himself and sat down to talk to me for about 15 minutes. What a great way to show that you care about your customers! Domingo informed me that I needed to have a ball joint replaced. He took me into the garage to show me the problem and explain what was wrong. There was an issue with the new ball joint that they brought in, which was not their fault.. At this point, it was already 30 minutes past the time they were supposed to close and they continued to try to solve the problem for me. Domingo felt that the best thing to do was to order the part direct from the dealer, at no extra cost to me. He offered to let me drive the courtesy car for the weekend and said my car would be finished sometime on Monday. By 8:00 Monday morning, my car was ready to be picked up. I felt that I paid an extremely fair price for all the work they did and that I was treated with kindness and appreciation. I will definitely be taking my car here from now on!

*** NOT RECOMMENDED *** I needed to replace the wind-shield on my Honda Odyssey. So I looked them up on Yelp, and after reading some positive reviews, I called them last week to get a quote. After I provided all pertinent details and answered all of their questions, they gave me a quote of $550. They said they have the wind-shield available (in stock) and gave me an appointment for the next day. (Apparently, they dont provide mobile service.) When I showed up at the time of the appointment, they told me that they actually dont have the windshield in stock. No apologies or even a recognition of the inconvenience this had caused me... I had to take an afternoon off from work and drive 10 miles each way to get this fixed. Now, they said they can order a new one for me, but I would have to pay the $550 in advance. I did it, hoping that they will get it right this time. Next week, I show up at the time of the appointment -- again took the afternoon off, and drove 10 miles each way -- and they tell me that it would actually cost an extra $300 to get it replaced! I asked for my money back, and decided to never go back there again. tl;dr Unprofessional, inconsiderate, and callous.

Reading through this thread at some of the reviews I seem to be torn. I see some excellent reviews, some average and some awful reviews. I read one where I was able to relate to. I read a review from someone that stated that the guy at the front was rude. I experienced that rudeness this morning. I was a first time customer coming in for an inspection. He never greeted me, but talked at me. I stated that I wanted to stay with my car and wait until they were finished with the inspection. He replied, that I couldnt and that I would need to come back in the morning and definitely before 2p; however there was a nice mechanic standing there. He seemed to realize my facial expression and he professionally explained the process of inspections and how I would be sitting for a long time. He appeared to have cared. I left thinking that I was not going to return, however if I do return, it would definitely be because of the professional mechanic. To me, professionalism is Everything. Professionalism from both the customer and staff means the world - even if a mistake is ever made. Nonetheless, I made an appointment at another auto care center for an August inspection.

I got an oil change here 5 months ago. During my most recent oil change, the dealership showed me that the last person who did my oil change (Cutshaw) had stripped the drain plug and had used silicone glue to seal the oil pan so that the oil did not drip out. Now I need a new oil pan. I thought about returning to Cutshaw and having them fix the problem they caused, but why would I want to return to a place that had tried to hide their mistake instead of being honest? DO NOT COME HERE. Also, on the day I went, everyone was pretty unprofessional (which should have been a warning sign). A mechanic and the old guy at the counter were bickering non stop and the mechanic kept misplacing peoples keys. The whole reason why I picked this repair shop was because of the good reviews. So, maybe they are good for other repairs, just dont go here for an oil change.
