My family of 4 has lived in the Kent Road Village community for the past 5 years & weve just renewed our 6th lease. Starting in 2011, weve lived 2 years spent in an upstairs 2 bedroom unit in the Kent Road Village garden style apartments, 2 additional years living in the downstairs unit of the same building (easier w/ 2 kids at that point & 2 dogs), & the last year in one of the newly built townhouses, which are 2 stories. Kristi & Leslie in the office have been nothing short of amazing in facilitating our moves between units as our family has grown to include 2 children & pets. The amenities, especially within the kitchens & bathrooms of all of our units have been incredible. When we eventually move on to home ownership, I will consider myself spoiled for wood cabinetry, granite countertops & hardwood floors throughout. Kent Road Village in right within the borders of the Mary Munford Elementary School zone, which is one of the top rated grade schools in the city & was a top deciding factor in our apartment searching. It has a 9/10 GreatSchools Rating (compared with the neighboring elementary schools Fox & Cary, having a 7/10 & 6/10 rating, respectively). Its convenient to shopping & dining in Carytown, Willow Lawn, Libbie Place & Scotts Addition, as well as close to several major freeways. At the cross of the Museum District & The Fan, our community is within close distance to many museums (Childrens Museum, Science Museum of VA, VHS, VMFA) & award winning restaurants. Within walking distance there is Stellas Market, their original Stellas restaurant, as well as Lafayette Pharmacy. For those with small children, I think its important to mention that there are excellent Trick-or-Treating opportunities in the residential neighborhoods of Malvern Gardens adjacent to our rental community. Kent Road Village is a pet friendly community with many dog owners. Weve made several neighborhood friends just from walking our dogs in the evenings. The office staff makes it a priority to arrange community events like block parties, with various sponsors a few times a year which allows for more socialization with other neighbors in an otherwise very quiet community. The grounds here are immaculately kept by a landscaping service each week & there are constant beautification efforts underway. In the 5 years weve lived here, weve seen a central gazebo as well as picnic tables & grills erected. Lastly, the maintenance crew here is incredibly accessible and quick to respond to even the smallest of maintenance requests within 24 to 48 hrs. Ive never felt like a need of ours hasnt been met in a timely fashion. Parking is adequate, but is street parking so city towing during street cleaning/leaf collection can be an issue at times. Consider Kent Road Village as your next home, whether you are a single professional, group of roommates, retiree looking to downsize, or a small family like ours looking for safe, affordable & attractive rental housing in an excellent school district.

Stonewood Apartments Durham NC. I first moved to Stonewood in 2002 by a recommendation of a customer. I had just relocated to the area from another state. I was greeted well and very professional. The Assistant manager, Nicole, was wonderful in making me feel at home. In 2007 I moved out only because I had gotten married and we needed a larger place. Well in 2013 I moved back into Stonewood, after the marriage failed. Anyway "Nicole Woodley," is still here at Stonewood, but now she is the Manager!! Way to go... she is wonderful and very professional. She is a great manager and runs this place like it should, she does not take any noncents from the tenets that do not adhere to the Lease agreement. The Maintenance supervisor, Ernie, is great and also very professional. He is a fixer, NOT a patch it up person. He communicates very well and lives on the property and is always willing to help others. Stonewood is one of those places that is a diamond in the rough, large rooms, and well kept, They even started upgrading the appliances to stainless steel. The landscape is well kept, weekly, and done very well by a professional company. We have a mix of everyone here, and we all get also wonderfully. Even a playground for the young ins. All in all wonderful and yes I feel very safe here at Stonewood Darryl

One of the worst (if not worst) experience I have ever had with a rental agent. I communicated though the one on Marshall St in Richmond VA and worst experience ever. Customer service is atrocious to the point where returning emails and answering phone calls was never a thing. They lost my roommates checks he deposited a couple of times and when we go in to ask questions and drop off checks because they dont answer their phone, no-one is ever in the office or front desk. I decided to end my lease after a year and rent through another leasing company. Its been two months and I still havent gotten my security deposit back and when I inquired why (after two months of them not saying anything) they claimed our damages "exceeded the security deposit" but refuse to hand over an invoice that states what they spent the money on. One of my buddies still lives in the house and he said none of the minor damages have been fixed, and that the only thing they did was clean the house so not only did I have a terrible year leasing through them, but the might not even give me my deposit back with no reasonable explanation.

Easily the worst company I have ever had to deal with. They told me I had to wait until the second week of August to move-in so they could clean, paint, and fumigate the apartment. When I moved in, nothing was clean, nothing was painted and it was not fumigated. There is a horrendous sewage smell coming from under our kitchen sink, they wont send a plumber, instead they send contractors who tell us they dont know anything about plumbing. We have had a disgusting residue between the two panes of glass in the oven that we cant get to without tools, the maintenance workers always tell us they will be back with tools and then never come back. Kariss does not answer emails and I cant get her on the phone. We have been in our apartment for 14 days and we can barely sit in the kitchen due to the smell and we are afraid to use the water because we dont know what could be contaminated.

My initial experience with Thalhimer was great but when my property manager left, I had the worst customer service. Our trash cans are constantly over flowing and tipping over from wind so our property is always surrounded by trash because no one ever comes to pick it up. For months we tried to get them to fix many issues and twice they had people coming in unannounced. The first time was a mistake and they ended up leaving our door unlocked for several hours, the second time was an unannounced pest control (fortunately I was home to tell him not to spray) but when I asked the HBIC there for proof that they sent out notification, she gave me the run around but was unable to verify that they sent anything. When I came in to discuss these issues, she acted like I had no reason to be upset and made me leave her office. I would NEVER recommend going through a company like this.

I have lived at the Georgetown Apts for over a year. Originally I thought I would only stay a year, but due to the amazing staff and accomodations, I have not yet left.The facilities truly are amazing, and for the price, you get a lot. When apartment shopping, I could not find anything else that beat the size, location, and qulaity for the money. Additionally, the staff is amazing. Leslie and Kristi have been amazing since day one. They are kind and always available to assist in any way, whether answering my questions, accepting packages at the office from UPS, or just sharing a hello, they truly help make the energy very positive . Chris and the maintenance team are amazing as well. One call and they are on top of it within the day, even if its not urgent. I am so grateful for all of their time and genuine interest in making Georgetown Apts feel like home.
